Thank you so much. Now I am happy that I ordered the XM4 for 200Bucks. It is so valuable, that people like you still compare older headphones to the newest ones. ❤
After spending most of my day watching and reading reviews and comparing the Bose and Sony product lines, your video was very helpful. You demonstrated every feature I was interested in and reviewed three of the four models I was looking at, in a single video. This was informative and well-researched . Thanks for the help.
Pretty nice comparison. I figured out that everything comes down to personal preferances. I had the opportunity to test all of the three headphones side by side. And for my head and ears the xm5 fits the best. The ANC worked the best with the noise level in the shop with the XM5. The soundstage is a tiny bit better on the XM4 than the others. The pricing is pretty interesting on the Sonys. You can get them much lessthan the original retail price. I piced the XM5 for about 300€ at this shop. I replaced my 6 years old QC35II and im happy with it.
Hello Gymcaddy! Hey I got a question that would help me a lot... I love how xm4 bass hits, but I like xm5 more overall, love their design, anc and mic quality. Do you know if I can recreate that punchy bassy sound with the xm5's eq? tysm :)@@GYMCADDY
@@GYMCADDYThat's because the Pixel doesn't support AptX Adaptive. That's on your end, not the headphone. Just say you made a mistake lol. Your words were it only supported SBC and AAC, which is factually incorrect.
The immersive audio on the Bose Quietcomfort Ultra and the transparency mode are something the Sony cant even come close to. If people are not familiar with using the Immersive audio, then start using it because it compeltely changes your audio experience .
This was a very good review. I bought Sony xm5 and Bose quietcomfort last month so I could try them out. Bose does a great job with ANC but I hated the cabin pressure, didn't think it was because of the ANC. After watching your video I now understand why I was kinda irritated even being quite happy with the noise canceling. Sony xm5 are too big and bulky for me, when I shake my head a little they kinda come off which I hate but I personally prefer xm5 more cause the sound is a little more loud and the bass is more there. You can even add extra bass boost in the app. I experienced a lot of connection issue with Bose and their app so using its features can be a challenge. I love that you can take bose's ear pads off, kinda shame that sony is not making that possible cause I know after few years those ear pads will go bad. Bose is giving me more durability than sony if I have to be honest. But when it comes to sound quality I prefer Sony. without a doubt. I also hate that they are not water resistant, like sweating during the summer can be a thing to worry when you use them. Right now I am not sure which one I should choose. But maybe I should give xm4 a try to make a better decision. Thank you for your review, I understand these headphones way better now.
Xm3 and xm4 same drivers updated chip. iPod pro. iPod pro 2. Same driver updated chip and different porting. I have the 700s and the ultras and the difference is very noticeable. Many headphones upgrade without changing drivers. That’s what Bose did update the chip and basically everything else but the driver.
@@akdmpman it's just weak and lazy to use the same driver. You can use the EQ function to make the NC700 and Ultra sound the same. I've done so on both.
No one seems to mention that the Bose QC Ultras have a much higher noise floor, as in white noise or hiss, with the ANC on and no audio playing. The Sony XM5s are dead quiet with ANC on and no audio playing. So if you want to block out outside noise but don’t want to play any audio, the XM5s give you that dead quiet peace. I can hear a constant hiss / white noise with the Bose when I don’t play any audio. And for me, there are times that I just want to focus in a quiet space and so I reach for the Sonys to block out the outside noise. Once I play music or audio on the Bose, the hiss disappears into the background but it is very noticeable without audio.
Hello, please which of the sony you say that do not make background noise? the xm4 or xm5. Because the same thing happens to me in quiet environments with my xm4 that I have had for 3 years. I hear that hum from the first time and was thinking of switching to the xm5 or the bose qc ultra for this reason. I think it is a consequence of the pressure regulation that they do between the outside and inside of the ear and there are times that hurt because of that pressure. I was hoping to switch to the QC ultra but I see that they have that problem. Thank you .
@@ejbd1131 Hey there! I have the XM5s. I’ll update my comment above. For over ear headphones, I just have the XM5s and the Bose QC Ultras. I was a little late to the party and splurged a bit! The XM5s are super quiet with ANC on and no audio. At any rate, glad I was able to help! I wish these reviewers would have let us know, I probably would not have gotten the QC Ultras had I known that.
@@ThomasLeichardtBetween the Bose Ultra and Sony XM5, which ambient/transparent mode is better? Looking for clarity and a feeling of not wearing headphones at all.
I have two pair of Ultras and one is nearly dead silent, the other has hiss... Quality control on these headphones is terrible, esp build issues... But man is the ANC great!
Hi I’m looking for the same thing ! I wanna only have a quite studying in a cafe with no audio on so do you recommend the M4 cause in my country it’s cheaper than the M5 !
Xm5's sound great but mine only lasted about 5 months before the pivot point snapped, the only thing holdimg them together is hallowed plastic this is a huge problem for many people I've noticed
8:10 more kick in the bass ... well that's one of the main reasons I took the XM5. I like to hear what happened in the recording, not just a groteque amount of bass covering every detail.
Bose supports Aptx adaptive codec that allows lossless audio over Bluetooth. This is only on android since Apple doesn't support any other codecs only AAC and SBC.
I got both the MX4 and QC Ultra and tested them. I wanted to check whether the price bump was justified or would I be better off with MX4 and save some money. Here are my findings; Sound Quality; * QC Ultra is definitely winner for me. Sound doesn't get muddy. All instruments are clear and tones are easily distinguishable. Immersive Audio is nice if you are into it but not necessarily a deciding factor. Only drawback was the bass quality on XM4 was really good. It's punchy and you feel the beat and just not hear it. This comes with the drawback of losing sound clarity though. That's a compromise I can't make due to genres I listened to but I can see why it could be more enjoyable for other genres. ANC features; * QC Ultra again wins in both Ambient/Transparency mode and Noise Cancelling. The external mics on Bose seems to provide better sound quality when transparency is engaged so you don't feel like you are listening the headphone's mics that's transferring the sound outside. With XM4 on the other hand, you can still hear your surroundings but it feels like you are listening through a narrow tube. That kills the "there is nothing on your head" feeling which something I would expect from the feature. It's not unpleasant or disturbing but not on par with what QC Ultra offers. Noise cancelling is also great with Ultra and XM4 was only slightly worse blocking some rumbling sounds. Comfort; * Both of them were really comfortable to be honest, for what they are. I was really used to having earphones so I can feel the discomfort after a couple of mins but it doesn't come to a point where I wanna throw it off. A small warning, if you expect to not to feel that there is something on top of your head, putting pressure on your ears and top of your skull, you might be disappointed. Most people should already be familiar with the feeling and have right expectations but sometimes marketing and other people's opinions may not convey this slight discomfort for the beginners. One final call is for the size adjustment. QC doesn't have tactile feeling when adjusting the length but MX4 has it. I liked the tactile steps but Bose made it feel pleasing to adjust it too. This would depend on personal preference and wouldn't have much impact on your enjoyment. Case; * QC has an amazing case that's hard but soft to touch. MX4 case is also ok but the textile texture is rough and doesn't feel premium. Interior of the MX on the other hand is better since on QC you have to overlap the cables with headphone which puts extra tension on the headphone. I have a couple of complaints about QC Ultra though, they can be overcome with configurations. First off all, the On-Head detection thing is a bit flaky. If you do something which requires your head to be tilted up and down a lot (not headbanging), it sometimes stops the sound as if you've taken them off. Luckily there is a control on the app for that so you can easily turn off that feature. I did not have this problem with MX4. Moreover MX4 is faster to stop and resume the sound. With QC, it takes a couple of seconds after you take them off but sound still comes for a second or two, broadcasting your music outside which can be awkward. Secondly, the ActiveSense feature is also flaky. It is supposed to adjust the ANC based on outside sound but when it is enabled with transparency/aware mode, your own sound echo triggers it, making you feel like you are sinking underwater for a second. This happens constantly so I had to turn it off when I'm having calls. All in all, I'm definitely going to keep the QC and I will consider keeping the XM4 for my partner who is not that into using a headphone in the first place. XM4 is definitely great value for the money I paid during Black Friday sale (280CAD + tax) but I now feel like the additional 140 I paid for QC is justified. All of this is of course subjective and this is just my take. I hope this helps for the people who've spent time figuring out which one to get like me.
Thank you for a great review. If both of them were on sale and only ANC and comfort was main priority, which one would you go for? There difference between them is 100 bucks here in Norway.
It might not have been the case when this video was shot, but you can use the QC Ultras with ANC "off". Just use a listening mode with ANC turned to zero.
Nice and very complete comparission! Really love the level of detail. I do have a Mommentum 4 right now but feel like the bass is sometimes too much and the mid range is lacking....somehow too much makeup on that range although I have tried many EQ combinations. I wonder what is your opinion moving from those to the new Bose Ultra..... and yes; the price is of course a downside for Bose
Yes the xm4s are the best but i dunno bout durability, also a lot of reviewers say xm4s have better anc then the qc45s and its simply not true , speaking from personal experience they are good but qc45s block out more noise Where xm4s shine is sheer audio quality and clarity and also clear rumbling bass
I almost bought the xm5’s but was a little paranoid about having bad luck with the swivel hinges breaking and they weren’t as comfortable for me since I have big ears so I bought the qc ultras instead. The XM5’s are still really nice looking though
i have xm4's for a few days and i'm dissapinted in sound quality and wearing comfort - they are too closed and created hurting pressure inside earcups, i'm thinking of retiring them and buying bose qc ultra, anyone had similar experience?
@@GYMCADDYhi! I want to upgrade from the QC 35ii, I love them and like that they cancel the bass from my neighbors stereo, but, I don't understand the cabin pressure thing, what I'm I suppose to feel? 😅 . Thinking on buying the Ultras, I hate the shallowness from the Sony's. I even had the Xm4s for a week and hated the pressure on my ears, even though they are small and that you can't change the earpads (I wear my headphones a lot)
I had the XM5s for almost 2 years but they have a serious design flaw, the swivel will eventually break and it is costly to repair. IMO, it's not worth it the sounds is great but now im stuck with broken headphones and searching for new ones...thinking about bose qc ultra or the airpods max pro due to the durability.
I also broke the swivel in just after 1 year and after warranty is over. its a shame for sony. xm5 were very good for comfort, anc and overall sound quality. I could wear them for many many hours without any issue.
Bought the Bose qc ultras and the xm4s. After a couple hours or so with testing, I had to return the ultras. I initially thought it would be the other way around because of the immersive audio on the Bose, but I agree it was gimmicky. The sound quality worsened with it activated. In my opinion, the Sonys sounded better especially the lows with the better bass. Made the music feel more alive , less flat. Also, I feel as if the music streaming service played a crucial role, as I stream on tidal with hifi plus max sound quality, paired with the 360 reality audio optimized for the xm4s, that sounded unbelievable. So worth the 250 bucks you’ll spend.
Until you develop the very known problem on XM4s which is feedback loop where one of the earcups starts producing extremely loud 110db sound that can leave you almost deaf. Not taking my chances with XM4s.
@@chrysio7that's only an issue if you expose them to moisture (working out, humid environments, etc). If you use them normally, you won't develop the feedback issue. I've had these headphones for almost 4 years and haven't had any issues. Would 100% recommend them to anyone considering them.
That's so strange because I think the opposite. I have both headphones and think the Bose sound quality is superior. I also think the immersive audio is a bit gimmicky and definitely needs to be worked on though. Goes to show sound is not at all subjective. I feel like the XM4's sound more like a "stereo" to me than the QC Ultras. And the Ultras are miles more comfortable to me.
It's annoying how there's never going to be a perfect set of ANC cans lol. I have the XM5's and love the sound, ANC, and especially the mic as I use them at work. But they get uncomfortable in as little as 30 minutes. I need a more comfortable set to match or exceed the XM5's mic before I will switch, and was hoping the QC Ultras was going to be that set :(
@@GYMCADDY yes i noticed that with seemingly every single video about the qc ultra. maybe google has a reason for not indexing new bose devices, or just bad algorythm. unlucky for you tho. for the effort you put in your videos, you deserve way better
I have been looking for a replacement for my PXC550 for one year. I will share here a personal experience with the 1000XM5. Around this time last year I got myself a pair of XM5 only to return them 3 days later. The headphones would just keep turning themselves off randomly. They would play a 2-3s high pitch buzzing sound and then they would simply shut down. This is, apparently, a frequent enough problem to merit having its own reddit thread, which makes me think SONY's quality control has seen better days. I was thinking on getting a pair of QC Ultras this black friday. Since I value your unbiased opinion my question is, have you experienced any quality control issue while using the BOSE QC ultras? I find very few reviewers reporting quality control issues or bugs and since my bad experience with the XM5 I find this could be a good thing to start including in reviews for the benefit of the end consumer. keep up the good work :) Cheers
The only issue that I have had with Sonys headphones is the mic on the WH-Ch710n. Besides that, no issues. As for the Bose Qc ultra, I’ve been using them for a month and have had zero issues aside from the ones mentioned in the videos.
Oh yea I own the qc ultra and no buggs All the features ect work as they should. That is important to mention since both sennheiser and Sony have launch end models with a lot of bugs they later resolved.
I have the XM5 and I'm not thrilled with them. One of the issues is sound leakage- if I want to listen to music late at night it's loud enough to be disruptive. I now wonder if the "cabin pressure" you describe with the Bose might translate to less sound leakage. But it's a big price tag to find out :-/
I have all 3, and all I can say is that Bose has insane cabin pressure with the immersive mode. Also, Bose buttons are a little annoying since they don't respond fast enough. The volume control also isn't good.
@@KishiroKizumi I use the XM5 when travelling very long and mainly for pop music. I use Bose to listen to acoustic/rock music and when I'm in the office. XM4 is awesome when watching movies. But if I am to choose 1 of them, XM5 will be a more reliable pick at this moment.
@@luffyking3513 lmao swear to god I don't like my obsession to headphones. I also have the Marshall Monitor II ANC and and the Sennheiser Momentum 4. This QCUltra might be the last thing I buy.
Hey! I recently got the Bose Quietconfort Ultra and their volume is ok but it doesn't give me that punch that i could picture in my mind before i got them even at high volume. This is my first headphones, i have experience with true wireless with bose quietconfort earbuds first generation and the volume, the bass and the punch Is soooo cool. So that's why i picked the Bose headphones. The Momentum 4 was my boy for a long time but finally i decided for the Bose because i have the QC Earbuds 1st generation and they are my sunshine haha. But as i said, the volume in the Bose headphones ones is not as loud as the earbuds and that makes me wonder sennheiser Momentum 4 sounds louder? I just want to know if i decided correctly 🥺 My priority is the volume anyways. PS: I know the sound quality in the M4's are better than Bose. I don't considerate myself as an audiophile, i just enjoy to listen music with these features: Volume, Bass, Punch and a good sound quality.
ANC off on the XM5s is 50+hours not 40hrs and also you can't use ambient mode by holding your hand over either earcup it is only one earcup that does that not both.
Of all the bose currently in the market I believe the QC 45 is an absolute steal especially if you get them refurbished from the bose website now for $159, or wait for black friday. The Ultra could be better : battery (sennheiser momentum 4 has 60hrs I own two of them) , microphone and price ( too high) The QC is only a minor upgrade vs the qc45 but it’s also overpriced. The qc 45 is 95% of the new QC, a much better value if you get them on sale.
I had the QC45s. They were ok for me, but the battery life became horrible in a short amount of time. I have the XM4s now and the battery is way better. Not even close. The QC45s were more comfortable to me tho.
I have a QC45 and Sony Xm5. Bose White noise is very noticeable if I want to listen to music with low volume but Sony is dead quiet. In your video, I noticed ultra has a more noticeable white noise during ANC. Is that right?
I bought two pairs made a month apart. Both had numerous quality issues, one of them being one set is near dead silent with ANC, the other has noticeable hiss. Like everything it seems Bose QC is very hit or miss.
I think they didn't add conversational mode like in xm4 intentionally in ultra as u can use pause button for the same but like in xm5 they should add that feature in update to ultra
I recently got the bose qc ultra, i have xm4 already but now it seems like i should return bose and buy xm5 instead, is it a good decision ? PLEASE SUGGES5, SOUND QUALITY IS AT UTMOST PRIORITY TO ME ...
Hey I'm just wondering if u can extend the battery life of bose by just turning down anc in the app, I feel like the answer is an obvious yes, but just thought I would ask and if so by how much?
Ive owned xm1, xm2,xm3 and xm5 and the Bose quite comfort regular version and the ultra version.... I decided to go with Bose.. the XM5 had very low volumes at high volumes. Sure it sounds clean but it's not loud at all. And the older versions of the XM Sony headphones appears that the app discontinues the Ldac. The drivers sound different with less clarity and less sound. Most people won't notice it because they don't have another set to compare it to. You have to have the set next to you and compare them like I did. It's almost like Sony is only putting their audio technology into headphones within a 3 to 4 year range. If your headphones are older than 3 to 4 years chances are they won't sound as well as the newer XM5s. If your headphones are older than that all they will do is connect to your phone. The high-definition goes away. My xm5 sounded like they tapped off in volume at 75% even though I was at 100%. The Bose have a higher volume and the noise cancellation is better. The Sony XM5s at high volumes don't sound loud and it sounds like the drivers are struggling.
Can you use the Bose Qc ultra or the Bose qc attached to the ps5 controller e and playing and contemporarily speaking with friends while playing with the headphones microphone and no external microphone?
No, but I don't think you'd want to do that. It needs to be powered on while wired and the mic will not pass through. Highly recommend getting a separate headset. The new Sony Pulse Elite with the planar magnetic drivers are a great value.
The thing is Sony doesn't really have replaceable earpads, you can replace them but it is much harder than the Bose and you will probably need to contact an official service from Sony meanwhile with the Bose you can do it yourself. And now that the Bose is in sales, I think it is the better deal, but at the end of the day it all depends on what you prefer in terms of brand, money, details like earpads, build quality... Nonetheless my personal vote goes for the Bose QC Ultra's in my eyes they have the complete package although the Sony's are very close, both are great.
If i get the ultra that has more space will my ears get less sweaty? I have the xm4 which I really love but my ears are sticking outside so with the xm4 they touch the padding and also get sweaty.
I will never go to any other headphones after Sennheiser's 60 hour battery life. Sony better do that in their next iteration for XM6. It's like ARM laptops of headphones. 😊
M4's anc is buggy. and when fan is on high speed setting anc at max will not block indirect noise of fan wind hitting earcup surface. and if you turn on wind reduction mod, then it will feel like anc is off. all other noise except wind will creep in. Additionally m4 are not as comfortable as xm5.
Are the channels also unbalanced on the Ultra like on the Quit Comfort and the QC45? This is a well known issue that will also show in frequency response measurements
@@itsblackmajik3322 I never did. I ended up buying new ear cushions for my QC35 and those cushions just started to tear apart under a year after. I'm now looking at other brands

You could try the Bowers and Wilkins PX7 S2e - great sounding, comfortable, good design and very good ANC.. not quite in the same league ANC wise as Sony and Bose, but very very close. Sound is stellar though. PX8's even better again.
my ears are very small so they don't touch the inside of the xm5s, and I find them more comfortable. I feel like the padding is softer and more comfortable on the xm5.
Let's all be honest the Bose ultra headphones are leaps and bounds better than then Sony xm4 & 5's. They are all worth the money. I have all 3 and love all 3, but my sidekicks are the bose Ultras. Just not happy with the price.
i completely agree. i have had the sony’s and i hated them. i am confused by people hyping them up in the comments like maybe i used them wrong?? i am in love with the ultras
@kennedylareign The noise canceling is what people like about the 1000xm4 and 5's. I'm guessing 🤔 I think the sound is decent on the Sony 5's, but the volume isn't very loud. That bugs me ALOT! I as well wanted to return them. But i haven't. I don't think people realize that Bose created NC and does it 10 times better. The Bose Ultras have better sound quality. Obviously, these people are a bunch of Sony fan boys and gals Which is okay if you want the 2nd best sound and quality headphonss , lol
обзор не плохой....благодарю.....но это обзор бюджетных блютуз наушников? Focal bathys стоят чуть дороже ,но поверьте по качеству звука они на две головы выше озвученных...
Reviews show that Sony XM5 headphones don't last for 40 hours. NONE of Sony's products reach the advertised battery life. Further, 24 REAL hours of battery life vs. 40 hours of pretend battery life is NOT "struggling!" I notice you were too lazy to test the actual battery life of these products. And 18 REAL hours with the immersive audio is more than enough to last through the longest air flights and trips. NOBODY, no other review states that the XM4 audio quality is even close to the Bose QC Ultra. NOBODY, no other review states that the controls on the Bose are inferior to the Sony headphones. SEVERAL reviews state the the controls on the Bose headphones are BETTER than the Sony XM5s. "Cabin pressure ????" Are you kidding me? If I am on an airplane, I am experienced HUGE air pressure drops because of the fights are pressurized for 60,000 feet flights. My ears pop repeatedly. The LAST thing I am concerned about. The reason I buy ANC headphones is to cancel noise. I want the best noise canceling I can get. That is probably the most important function of these headphones, along with audio quality. EVERY review I have read or watched states that the ambient mode on the Bose QC Ultra headphones is better than the Sony XM5 headphones. The Bose QC Ultra headphones have amazing audio quality without the immersive audio turned on. Geez! You don't have to power the Bose QC headphones on to use a wired connection. Do your homework before you make incorrect statements. Hell, the NC 700s don't have to be powered on either with wired connections. You can turn them on to activate the noise canceling, but you don't have to.
DO NOT BUY THE BOSE QC ULTRA HEADPHONES. 1. The startup and shutdown chimes are EXTREMELY LOUD, potentially causing ear damage, with no way to turn them off or lower the volume. They ONLY sound when you PUT THE HEADPHONES on your ears. I sold my brand-new headphones for half the price because of this idiotic "feature." 2. You CANNOT drag the headband slides as you put them on, you have to use your hands to drag them, which can be painful, and only THEN can you put them on. If you want to put them back into the case, you have to drag them back to the neutral position AGAIN using your hands. I can't understand the person responsible for this absolutely stupid decision. 3. The touch-sensitive volume slider is absolutely TERRIBLE. It will increase the volume so much or decrease it so much you would want to use your phone to do it instead. Go with either QC45 (my number one favorite) if you can find a sealed one. DO NOT buy the new QC one or the 1000XM4 headphones either, since those headphones also have the same loud chime issue or annoying and constant beep issue while changing the volume combined with a loud voice guide.
I was so excited for Bose ultra but I’m very disappointed. They sound almost the same as their other headphones with just light more bass which is still underwhelming.
Back on top? My QC 45 beat my Sony wh1000xm4 in almost every area except battery life. Comfort, sound quality, noise canceling. Can’t speak on the next generation models though.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however I would suggest making an appointment with your audiologist if you actually believe the QC45's sound anywhere near as good as the XM4's (or XM5's for that matter )
@ last time I was there, hearing was perfect. I am an audio engineer. I don’t think the QC sounds great either, but I don’t like the overly laid-back sound with muddy (not boomy) bass of the Sony.

@@akdmpman it's just weak and lazy to use the same driver. You can use the EQ function to make the NC700 and Ultra sound the same. I've done so on both.
@@lammiwinks3775 Yeah. I don’t buy it I own both and you can’t tweak the eq to get the openness, bass and clarity of the ultras.
Thank you
.
Great video. Thanks for taking the time to compare these headphones. Helps with my decision
great review, very thorough and non-biased
I got both the MX4 and QC Ultra and tested them. I wanted to check whether the price bump was justified or would I be better off with MX4 and save some money. Here are my findings;
Sound Quality;
* QC Ultra is definitely winner for me.
ANC features;
* QC Ultra again wins in both Ambient/Transparency mode and Noise Cancelling.
Comfort;
* Both of them were really comfortable to be honest, for what they are.
Case;
* QC has an amazing case that's hard but soft to touch.
Yes the xm4s are the best but i dunno bout durability, also a lot of reviewers say xm4s have better anc then the qc45s and its simply not true , speaking from personal experience they are good but qc45s block out more noise
Where xm4s shine is sheer audio quality and clarity and also clear rumbling bass
the xm5's bass is out of this world
xm4s have bigger drivers so more bassy then xm5s the xm5s have slightly lower bass but superior audio quality@@meltemh.2002
Gymcady thanks for another great practical detailed review! The best reviewer if your looking for new headphones!
Thanks. Like the video so RUclips will suggest it. Cause views are low.
@@GYMCADDY sure did as always. Keep up the great work!!
Been waiting for your comparison. Thank you! Do the Bose still have bad cabin pressure? One thing I love about the Sonys.
What did you think of the ANC on the Ultras?
@@chrysio7so instead, wich headphone would you suggest?
The Real Question here is that "is it better than the Sennheiser Momentums?"
Cause Sennheiser is the benchmark right now.
this.
Can you change the earpads of the Sennheiser?
@@Mmarialejjyes but don't know how that works though
Just when I was in the market for some new headgear, I find Gymcaddy still doing his indepth reviews. Thank you so much for your reviews!
It's annoying how there's never going to be a perfect set of ANC cans lol. I have the XM5's and love the sound, ANC, and especially the mic as I use them at work. But they get uncomfortable in as little as 30 minutes. I need a more comfortable set to match or exceed the XM5's mic before I will switch, and was hoping the QC Ultras was going to be that set :(
Been waiting for this vid to come out. Great Job!🤩

I find very few reviewers reporting quality control issues or bugs and since my bad experience with the XM5 I find this could be a good thing to start including in reviews for the benefit of the end consumer.
keep up the good work :)
Cheers
But it's a big price tag to find out :-/
It depends how you order them.
I had almost all the premium wireless headset and I still think sennheiser momentum 3 is the king 🤷♂️❤️
I have all 3, and all I can say is that Bose has insane cabin pressure with the immersive mode. Also, Bose buttons are a little annoying since they don't respond fast enough. The volume control also isn't good.
then what would you prefer with the xm4 and xm5 or do you switch between them both?
You have too many headphones for one head. Give me one

I wish you could use the aux while the XM5s are on. Since you can only do it if they're powered off you cant use anc.
The Ultra could be better : battery (sennheiser momentum 4 has 60hrs I own two of them) , microphone and price ( too high)
The QC is only a minor upgrade vs the qc45 but it’s also overpriced.
The qc 45 is 95% of the new QC, a much better value if you get them on sale.
Yeah, the qc45 looking real tasty right now
I had the QC45s. They were ok for me, but the battery life became horrible in a short amount of time. I have the XM4s now and the battery is way better. Not even close. The QC45s were more comfortable to me tho.

Great review, ty
If I'm listening to music outside in the wind, does just turning off ANC on the Sony headsets eliminate the wind noise?
The QC Ultra also has AptX Adaptive btw.
What would you recommend is the best headphones for gaming, movies and music?

Bose QC ultra is a right purchase for an apple user instead of AirPods Max ?
Currently I have a pair of qc45’s but I kind of wish they had a longer battery life. My main worry is that if I get the xm5 is the ear space
headphone stand? thanks
Additionally m4 are not as comfortable as xm5.

i completely agree. i have had the sony’s and i hated them. i am confused by people hyping them up in the comments like maybe i used them wrong?? i am in love with the ultras
The build quality on the Bose is awful

Sony is Number One Audio Developer beside Playstation Console Yay!!! 👍🏻😎👍🏻
Um ok
Sorry man , but 250$ offer for new xm5 sealed the deal
DO NOT BUY THE BOSE QC ULTRA HEADPHONES.
1. The startup and shutdown chimes are EXTREMELY LOUD, potentially causing ear damage, with no way to turn them off or lower the volume. They ONLY sound when you PUT THE HEADPHONES on your ears. I sold my brand-new headphones for half the price because of this idiotic "feature."
Bose Ultra the best of the 3
So the xm5 is just worse than xm4
This is bonkers. The Sony is a year old and pretty much out classes the new Bose. The call quality on the Bose is truly amazing
I think bose ultra supports aptx
every video like this is the same and Sony always wins for noise canceling while Bose always wins for audio quality
Bose better, better ANC and anywhere during sound…Sony sound also way overrated
