Your Welcome.
I’m glad you found it helpful and enjoyable. ❤️❤️
Very beautiful and cute Penguin 👌👍 Great tutorial 👌
Thankyou xxx hope you enjoy making this as much as I did 😊🥰
I am a new follower. I loved your work very much ❤and the crocodile was applied successfully. Thank you very much, but I hope the video is translated so that I can work professionally without difficulty.
I did struggle with this but I did pick it as my second ever project. Trying to see and count stitches in fluffy black yarn was a real mess. I also used the exact same yarn and it didn't pull to tighten the stitches closer together, I just ended up pulling the fluff off the yarn. But after everything, I have a slightly derpy but cute penguin chick. In the video you say you used a 5.5 hook but a 4.5 in the description, I don't know if anyone else has mentioned that. I ended up using a 5.5
Wow well done you! Second project! That’s amazing. 😍
4.5 or 5.5 both would be okay as with Amigurumi it depends on your tension too.
Closing the first bit is always a bit difficult. It’s the same with all plush yarns however you might want to experiment as to where you hold the stitches when pulling.
Hope you enjoy making this as much as I did.
Thanks for watching.
🥰🥰🥰
@@KeepCalmAndCrochet If I wanted to try this again with say a magic ring, how would that affect the starting rows?
@@anachyinuk you will just work R1- in the Magic Ring. And continue from there…
@@KeepCalmAndCrochet so would I skip the foundation chain?
@@anachyinuk yes you would skip slip knot and ch2 and work 6sc straight in the magic ring.
Excellent video. Instructions are so clear. Lovely voice tone as well.
Thankyou.
I’m glad you enjoyed it 🥰🥰🥰
What a great penguin! Love him💕💕
Thankyou xx
size 8mm bernat blanket is the same w/ 5.5mm hook
This is one of the most awesome and detailed explanations I was convinced with. Thanks for sharing your idea.
I am in US, I found the Bernard Blanket extra, is that okay to use of this project?
Thankyou x x
Yeah sure. You can use any yarn you wish to. Size will vary with each choice. Please adjust your crochet accordingly to your choice of yarn.
Thanks for getting in touch 🥰🥰
Hi! I’m stuck at the black to grey transition. In your video you cut out the part with the slip stitch explanation. How do we create the slip stitch to transition from black to grey?
Hi I love your video❤️❤️, I just wanted to ask how do you increase the size of it if you want it more bigger?
Thankyou xx
You could double up the yarn and use crochet hook size 8. This will increase the size considerably. 😊hope this helps. Xx
Hiya. I haven’t watched the whole video yet as want to ask this before starting. Rather than getting thicker yarn, could we increase the size of the penguin by doubling the chains we do. So rather than doing 6sc in the magic circle at the start can we do 12? But then would that work for the whole rest of the penguin doubling up the chains that you do in the video? (For example like a half crochet, double half crochet, increase and decrease) I’m pretty new to crocheting so not totally sure. Than, you 😊
@@sophiehannaford7197 hi Sophie, unfortunately it doesn’t work like that. If you would like a bigger penguin then you could double up on the yarn and use a thicker hook. Stitches and stitch count has to stay the same. X
Maybe crochet hook bigger?
@@iwonarodriguez9624 bigger crochet hook without changing thickness of yarn could lead to windows in your project… something to be aware of ..
hi! if i wanted to make it bigger, do i just need to make it as doubles as u do?
No unfortunately it doesn’t work like that.. you can double or triple up the yarn and use much bigger hook. That would do the trick.
Hi! Is this your pattern? If so, do we have permission to sell anything made from it? If it’s not, can you link where you got it from? Thank you! ❤
Sure. feel free to sell them as long as you mention me as the original designer xx
Can you use regular thin acrylic yarn?
Yeah sure. The size of the penguin will be very small. X
I am a beginner and i only have the 4.0 mm crochet hook with smaller sized yarn. Is it fine to follow your tutorial step by step with similar stitches numbers since the yarn sizes are different?
Hi there, If you have DK yarn then you will need to use a 3mm crochet hook. otherwise you will have huge gaps between your stitches.
Alternatively You could double up your yarn (stitches while holding 2 strands at the same time )
Hope this helps. xx
Can you start with a magic circle instead
You certainly can. Skip slip knot and Ch2 and work R1- in Magic Ring. Enjoy. X
How do i crochet the feet? Cant find it in the video?
Wings and the feet are done in the same way. In this video I show how to make wings and then go on to explain what to do to make the feet. 😊 Hope this helps.
Is there a written pattern somewhere?
Not at the moment. But I’m in the process of writing it 😀
How do you change the yarn from black to grey. Do i just cut off the black yarn and leave it as it is? I think your videos cuts off at the explaination so i dont know.
Its at 15:53
Hi there. You first attach the new yarn by tying a knot and then move the tail end out of the way and continue working your stitches with white. you do not snit the black yarn as you will be using it again for stitches between the white patches for the eyes. hope this helps.
Thanks
Rashmi
Thank you for replying@@KeepCalmAndCrochet
But I actually meant when we you change the yarn from black to grey. Do you also change it the same way like when we switch black to white
@@kitty-gr6xp Hi yes you do. the only difference is that as it’s the first colour change you will tie back and white strands together in a knot so it is secure. but do not snip it.
Would invisible decrease work on this
@@mariestevenson3719 yeah sure x
@@KeepCalmAndCrochet Ty that's what I'm use to but will be first time using plush yarn
