I am using stitch markers at beginning and end but only get 16-18 stitches total not 20 To confirm is R4: ch1 (sc, inc, sc,) x5 ss Then when repeating the () is it sc, inc, sc Cause when I’m repeating I see it as sc, inc, sc.. sc, inc sc. so is there 2 sc’s together when repeating this part of the pattern? This is correct. R4: ch1 (sc, inc, sc,) x5 ss. You could start with a single crochet, and then increase, and repeat (2 single crochets, 1 increase), and the last one is just 1 single crochet. Since increase=2 single crochet to the same stitch, so (1+2+1)*5=20 sts.

Sorry, there is a mistake for round 16. It should be:
R16: Ch x 1, 2SC, Dec, 4(3SC, Dec), 2SC, Dec, SS. And 22 stitches total after R16.

Maybe it's the problem of round 3. Check if you have 15 stitches for round 3.

How can you go from R4 (20 stch) to R5 (25 stch) if you need to do 3 sc, inc ×5? 🤔
1 increase = 2 single crochets to the same stitch, so there are 3+2=5 stitches in a row. 5x5=25
way too complicated and then the yarn fell apart. It split itself into tiny strings after three steps. Terrible
