yeah, I think many will look back years from now and see this is the turning point. I liked that Hunt "was" a much slower paced shooter, take your time, stalk your targets, creep around, its more of a sandbox stealth shooter, but this, it raises the tempo of the game to I would say early Halo combat evolved speed, shotguns and br's already the main stays.
Played on the Test servers the past few days with my trio.. I was always in my beetle and just pinging exactly where the enemy was every half second. Out of 30+ games we only all 3 died 3 times. The info you can give with it is insane and they should make it so you can only ping once every few seconds like 5 seconds while in the beetle
I feel like at least the explosion should be tied to a low point trait or have new traits that effect it, like making it more quiet or move faster. Not that I think this is game breaking, but I feel like it would be a better decision so that people have to more "spec" into using the beetle rather than it just being a consumable.
yeah i probably will just alert every single sound trap before i go into the boss compound and the people inside will be fucked then i will see every single trap then carpet bomb them i wonder what will they (the defending team) do against that.
I tought the very same thing, If this change goes wrong it will be forever remembered as the thing that started hunt downfall. Despite the hate, I actually think the Stalker Beetle looks really fun! And I don't think it will completely revolutionize Hunt like people are worried about. That being said, this doesn't seem like an Anti-Camping Mechanic at all. I'm still excited for the change, but this could just as easily be used as a tool for camping as it could for uprooting campers.
I'd personally remove the explosion, a solo player or someone clutching can be easily pushed by 2 people, tagged to almost death and finished off with the beetle.

How do you manage the sparks / beetle kills man? I swear to god, for ten times today I shot someone with a sparks poison and I see with poison sense that they are poisoned. So I fly my beetle there within 3-4 seconds and detonate it IN THEIR FACE and they won't die :( Sure, maybe 1-2 shots were limbs or so but not all of them? Am I doing something wrong?
@@RachtaZ But if I see them in Poison Sense, it means I poisoned them, right? That means no antidote :D Anyway, thanks for your reply. Will try again later today.
Isn't the whole point of Hunt not knowing of who or what is around the corner? There is no mystery of not knowing where the enemies are when you are approaching compound now. This feels so arcady and unnecesary, there is no lore or gameplay reason behind this BS.
Bro hunters in real life use cameras all the time and set up camp and in the game there are all different sorts of monsters and such and with a bit of magic like dark sight it’s not a stretch that you could connect too another creature and see threw it the beetle allows you too be a smarter hunter and gather intel at the risk that if you are being hunted if you are alone you are defensless too them it just adds another layer of strategy and is a pretty cool addition for players who use a lot of snipers and longer range play styles
I appreciate Crytek trying to add new things and be innovative to keep the game fresh, but I honestly don’t think the game needed this. The community has been asking for a roaming boss. They may have also complained of camping but you already had tools to fix that, now your have guided grenades for every base storm? I wanted them to include some dark powers for the hunters but I’m just not into this one. I don’t think it’s good for the game. Changes it up entirely.
tbh game needs a big change. I think compounds like prison, fort etc should have shitty shotguns around for player to pick up so you can actually push a fight there with long ammo instead of staying 100m away because you know you'll get 1 tapped by slugs close range. This game suffers hardcore from extreme min maxing because the game is almost purely balanced around dmg and dmg fall off. No real differences in weapon handling, mobility etc. Why don't pistols ADS faster than other weapons? Why don't shotguns have accurate crosshair for hipfire? Why does long ammo dmg fall off make it dominate medium and long range? The velocity is already enough, it should be a high velocity skill weapon. As it is if you lose a health bar and can't get it back you might as well extract because long ammo 1 taps you to chest now.
@@shark_de_mique I think this beetle is going to be pure cancer too, especially for anyone that plays solo. You get tagged by poison sparks and now you're basically dead because your only option is to run as fast as you can away. The poison means you can't hear the beetle. The fact that teams can now just bush camp with 1 or 2 guys beetling around looking for someone to ambush is ridiculous. You don't have to expose yourself visually for info and you wouldn't normally hear someone to ambush unless they were running within 50m of you. Now you can simply fly high enough that other players can't hear you while you ping them for your friend with a sniper. The "anti camping" mechanic actually promotes camping with it's core design lol.
Ah. Hmm… idk. Was it necessary. As a solo only player with 4000 hours, hunt is getting harder and harder for the lone wolfs… this could be useful… but also…. Painful. Hahah. Ack. Seems kind of silly.
yeah crytec really doesnt know anything about economy... pick rate doesnt only reflect how good a weapon is it reflects the price- perferomance ratio.... if they change the price other weapons will get a better price- performance ratio... but whats then?! then those weapons will get picked more often and others less... what does it matter? its chasing the dragon... what do they gonna do then? changing the prices again? pick rate doesnt mean only : "Its a good weapon" it means "its a good weapon for the price" best example is the officer carbine: price change und recoil nerf destroyed the weapon... you see it so rarely... it has become an artifact...
I dont think the price changes matter that much. Its way too easy to get a lot of dollars in game and the only thing the prices really change is the variety. Now we should see more pax ingame n shit like dat.
This does actually look quite fun! But also looks very unbalanced. 150m is way too far. There should also be a penalty when using it like when reviving a red-skulled team mate. Maybe having your stamina drain very quickly and then your health start to drain after that. Or your Hunter appears on dark sight for all to see whenever you're using it so that so you can't just fly it around 100m above a compound for 5 minutes waiting for people to show up.
The radius on the beetle explosion is much larger than I thought it was. I think that needs to be reduced. Not sure how I feel about it causing bleed, as well.
its not 5 damage anymore, is 25. Something we've been doing is going towards the same enemy and smacking 3 bettles at the time on him. Sometiemes they die and some others we just drain 2 medkits from him.
This one tool completely undermines the entire risk versus reward gameplay loop of hunt. You no longer have to risk getting damaged to spot your enemies, and the fact that you get three of them for 45 dollars is just busted. If you could only have one of them per load out and it was consumed upon use I don't think it would be that bad but as it stands there is zero downside to using it to just delete the stealth system that the game is built around
i think the radious should be reduced to 3 meters and the range reduced to 125 meters cost changed from 45 to 75 and then it should be fine(althought the poison sense thing is kinda wack mabye reduce poisen sense range to 100m)
Hunt finally loses its old good hunt feeling with the stalker beetle. Hunt has so many bugs or construction sites that need to be worked on (left peak shit) but no, new unnecessary mechanics have to be installed all the time. The constant tension that in every building or behind every tree a Hunter could be waiting for you is now a thing of the past. I hate this bug, and today's gaming industry. The stalker bug will be fun in the beginning, but this mechanic will only be annoying in the long run. Thanks for the good times Crytek.
Jesus this is a bleak take. Crytek isn't gonna let this ruin the game. If enough players voice their opinions or stop playing they'll consider making changes I'm sure.
@@kidelliott7122 I agree with him. Hunt is to hardcore and niche to get big numbers. One way to adress it, and make it more mainstream, is to enable people to get a better situational awareness of enemies, so they get less "surprising one shots" and thus are less frustrated and it reduces the chance of people quitting the game due to frustration. It is a typical drone mechanic you know from games like Rainbow6 Siege, Ghost Recon, Battlefield etc.
@@dontanton7775 100% agree this is very likely why they implemented it and I'm not a fan of the mechanic itself. Instead of being room and gloom about it, I'm simply hopeful Crytek won't let this completely ruin the Hunt niche experience. Personally I think they should make the drone 75% slower, with a smaller flight range. You shouldn't be able to scout the whole compound before entering.
11:57 I just noticed the moving shadows in the outro for the first time. Is this from within the game or is it rendered somehow? If it's the game, that'd be an odd detail to waste computational resources on. If the shadows are stationary, they can be seriously optimized.
I've never really understood the thought process of some developers. Obviously, gamers are going to try and find exploits and ridiculous ways to use anything introduced to them. "This will be used for scouting, allowing players to better prepare themselves." In reality, it's going to be used for everything OTHER than scouting. This would be fine and all but the amount of time it takes to bring it in line with everything else is just too long.

Its weird to me that this is suppose to be an anti camping mechanic than can only be used by sitting in 1 spot and controlling it aka (camping)
this kills the hunt feel
yeah, I think many will look back years from now and see this is the turning point.
The info you can give with it is insane and they should make it so you can only ping once every few seconds like 5 seconds while in the beetle
the synergy with poison sense and sparks poison ammo is insane
Dude this shit was comedy gold. I've never laughed so hard to any Hunt content.
I'm usually in awe with your videos but this one is entertainment gold..... so much fun XD
Poison sparks with beetle finisher is going to be the best thing ever.
I'm really REALLY excited to try this out in Trios. And 2:43 was really the best thing I saw today.
I feel like at least the explosion should be tied to a low point trait or have new traits that effect it, like making it more quiet or move faster. Not that I think this is game breaking, but I feel like it would be a better decision so that people have to more "spec" into using the beetle rather than it just being a consumable.
We'll see. I'm all for more utility from an item. Even if it is silly.
you shouldnt be able to attach a sticky to the beetle. that should kill it. any dmg should kill it.
Any damage? Including the 1 damage from choke bomb explosions?

Despite the hate, I actually think the Stalker Beetle looks really fun! And I don't think it will completely revolutionize Hunt like people are worried about. That being said, this doesn't seem like an Anti-Camping Mechanic at all. I'm still excited for the change, but this could just as easily be used as a tool for camping as it could for uprooting campers.
I'd personally remove the explosion, a solo player or someone clutching can be easily pushed by 2 people, tagged to almost death and finished off with the beetle.
… it does 5 damage… and you can hear it coming
@@mauvelofi4195 does it still cause bleeding and poison? Also, being chased by two people and getting shot at makes it difficult to track a small beetle coming at you through a window or crack in the roof.
@@BeerAndFries yeah at that point if you can’t hit the person controlling the beetle who has to stand still then idk what to tell you, they had to go out of their way to get these clips any bomb or Molotov would be just as deadly if they are chasing you that closely
@@mauvelofi4195 you assume the operator is out in the open or at least in your line of sights. Thus they can get around your superior positioning and just kamikaze you from behind. Or just prevent you from healing. You can see it happening in the video, although it should be easier for the chased person with the weaker explosion damage. Note that that I do not say it is game breaking, but it does push the odds towards the already winning side.
@@BeerAndFries well at that point you can just outrun the opponent or kill the single person coming for you, then it’s just a beetle near you with not a lot of damage, plus that leaves him vulnerable to anyone else or ai because any damage taken instantly makes you go out of beetle sight

Thats wrong info then, its 100% possible and will stay like this
Thanks for the clips Rachta! I've seen a lot of screen shots and commentary but this helped visualize what this thing is capable of. Also I'll absolutely be shocked if the sticky bomb tactic makes it to live servers

@@visceral_flex4213 it is supposed to die to any sort of interaction in theory, and there was even data saying that this shouldn't work. Sticky on beetle is intended and will stay
My problem with the stalker beetle is how far up and far you can go. you should go like 75 meters max and not that high up.
I would like to see stickybombs not working like that, but them adding a gluebomb, that only does 100 damage or less. I like the idea, or maybe a glue-flashbomb with a timer.
Wait how are you killing people with it does it do more damage with poison or does that gun with poison rounds make it so you can kill with 5 damage from beetle cause I ahve a quest where I need to do 40 damage in 1 game and not sure how to do it.
I've been with hunt showdown since day one. But this is the tipping point, I'm done with hunt. Who asked for a fucking drone in a game set in the 1890s

They could have antidote shot. This was on test servers and people were not familiar with this tactic yet

Isn't the whole point of Hunt not knowing of who or what is around the corner? There is no mystery of not knowing where the enemies are when you are approaching compound now. This feels so arcady and unnecesary, there is no lore or gameplay reason behind this BS.
No
Man I said THE SAME THING! They are going down the COD path. They always do. All they had to do is stick to the formula
Do you even play the game????
Bro hunters in real life use cameras all the time and set up camp and in the game there are all different sorts of monsters and such and with a bit of magic like dark sight it’s not a stretch that you could connect too another creature and see threw it the beetle allows you too be a smarter hunter and gather intel at the risk that if you are being hunted if you are alone you are defensless too them it just adds another layer of strategy and is a pretty cool addition for players who use a lot of snipers and longer range play styles
I mean I like the lore aspect of it a lot lol
good bye old hunt, you were cool? RIP
So hunt has drones now
Hunt is losing its days...
tbh game needs a big change.
@@ramsaybolton9151 so true mate
True
The price changes to so many of the guns and traits is more upsetting than the beetle (minus the extraction blocking)
yeah
crytec really doesnt know anything about economy...
pick rate doesnt only reflect how good a weapon is
it reflects the price- perferomance ratio....
if they change the price other weapons will get a better price- performance ratio...
but whats then?! then those weapons will get picked more often and others less...
what does it matter? its chasing the dragon... what do they gonna do then? changing the prices again?
pick rate doesnt mean only : "Its a good weapon" it means "its a good weapon for the price"
best example is the officer carbine: price change und recoil nerf destroyed the weapon...
you see it so rarely... it has become an artifact...
I dont think the price changes matter that much. Its way too easy to get a lot of dollars in game and the only thing the prices really change is the variety. Now we should see more pax ingame n shit like dat.
@@anteeantee8144 it is called balancing the game. I'd rather have price increase for a good gun instead of having it destroyed by nerfs
Well... anti-camping?!...this is even more encourage to camp is buildings especially if you are solo player
hunt is now kinda changed but in a funny meme kinda silly way xD love it
This does actually look quite fun!
I don’t think you understand how the beetle works. You’re in dark sight, you can’t see that far
@@mauvelofi4195 did you even watch the vid? yes it's "dark sight" but not the same one a hunter has, in this one you can see everything more clearly

well... crytek really wants to kill the game i guess... it has been a fun journey.. RIP
Ah Yes who needs pitcher when you can stick a beetles
i think the radious should be reduced to 3 meters and the range reduced to 125 meters cost changed from 45 to 75 and then it should be fine(althought the poison sense thing is kinda wack mabye reduce poisen sense range to 100m)
beetle should also do light bleed insead of medium

I don't like this thing. No particular reason. It just feels incredibly wrong to basically have a military drone in this game.
Get rid of extraction blocking and change the explosion to a stun effect with no damage.
crytek Just rkmemed this game out of nowhere
Does it die to any kind of dmg? Shotguns could be pretty useful to knock them down
Is this what Hunt will be now? I'm dissapointed. Crytek, is this the game you wanted?
Thought that you couldn't put sticky bombs on the beetles. Not complaining tho, that looks hilarious.
11:57 I just noticed the moving shadows in the outro for the first time. Is this from within the game or is it rendered somehow?
If it's the game, that'd be an odd detail to waste computational resources on. If the shadows are stationary, they can be seriously optimized.
AFAIK time of day is stationary in every match, so I don't think that footage is from standard gameplay
Its a game trailer
@@RachtaZ I see. Thanks!
Absolutely love your videos but for me this one is a 12 minute advertisement for why the beetle shouldn't exist. Adds nothing skill based to the game and puts another nail in the coffin of solo play.
