- Zack Fair was alive and kicking the whole way through part 1 of Final Fantasy 7 Remake!? How the hell could such a theory be possible and if so, where the hell was Zack and what was he up to? This theory is mad but also one of my favourite possibilities for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake saga and where Square Enix may steer the story of the games. From samurai bushido codes, how Wedge & Biggs were able to survive, what new Avalanche cells were doing in Midgar and even what Barret's 'date' scene at Aerith's house meant. If you are in any way a Zack Fair peasant and wanna experiance some Final Fantasy 7 Remake mindblow then tune in for this deep lore & story dive because alot is going to be explained. The possibility that there was no alternate timeline in play at the end and all answers lead to... STAMP! Yes stamp the little Shinra doge we see littered about Midgar in the story. Square Enix were leaving us a breadcrumb train. But it's just a theory.. A FF7 Remake theory!! (smells Matt Pat court case)

People might be even more blown away... when they realize that this isn't a remake of FF7, but a sequel and the (in Kitase's own words) "5th and final entry into the compilation" and that "it was planned during the development of Crisis Core" but "shelved due to lack of resources and manpower."

TsundEVE Brea but the history will be changed now regardless, that was the point of the ending to part 1. By defeating destiny, they are already “screwing the history” and some things (not everything I’d imagine) will play out differently now as a consequence of them defeating destiny.

Sweet mother of Darkness, how did I miss this... Zack remembers Sephy from before he went crazy. Cloud, not so much. What if the reason Future!Sephy is acting more "human" is because he has an additional source of memories to draw from?

Kinda hard to carry a sword like that around while doing secret missions anyway, which is validated by how often Shinra is watching the party as they think they're being sneaky in this game.
In the OG game when Aerith and Cloud chill at the park, Aerith says Zack was her first boyfriend and that she "really did like him for a while" while in the Remake she says "He's the first man I ever loved." Which seems like a much higher level of affection.
JayRon Pascual my point more on the focus that she makes it seem more serious in the Remake than the OG at the same point in time. As though she’s not the same Aerith as in the OG game
The possibility of Zack being alive and supporting Avalanche from the shadows is an option I hadn't even considered....and I LOVE IT!!! I really hope it turns out to be something like that.

@@resetbutton7982 Not really, because if you remember, Zack is immune to the Jenova cells. They don't effect him in any negative ways.
I wasn't on board with Zack being alive until this theory. He by the will of the planet is there to fix the bad ending. I guess the planet has a soft spot for humanity now as it allows them to try to fix their mistakes. It hasn't written them all off this time.
I always liked Zack ever since playing crisis core and I hope he gets a happy ending this time.
Vincent will be an epic playable party member in which i would use the entire time(F Cloud) then Sephiroth gets the mind blowing ending like Darth Vader saving the world..*spoiler* its going to be epic

I don't know... Zack does have a particular tenderness for Angeal and Cloud.
On the note of Zack being Stamp. The fact that Barret calls Cloud Stamp during the first mission has even more implications to it.

IN ADDITION TO THE "ZACK'S AVALANCHE" THEORY:
I REALLY REALLY THINK THAT.. During Barret's talk with Cloud in Chapter 14 when Barret talks about Finn, Al, and Cissnei -the way he described them is like:
Finn = Zack (lazy little punk)
Al = Kunsel (inside man)
Nellie = Cissnei (tight with Jesse, looks like sisters)
I think it's pretty accurate -especially that the names sound like they were taken from a part of their OG names... from Zack "Fair" comes Finn, from Kun-sEL comes Al, and from CissNEI comes Nellie.. I might be stretching this damn thing too far but I really think it's possible! I mean they were never shown on screen yet so.....

When Cloud and the gang are infiltrating the warehouse to get the explosives, they point out that someone took out the guards already. It wasn’t Jessie, and it’s never really touched upon again.
Also, the reason Avalanche has cells is because of Rufus. He’s actually the one funding and in control of them. That’s why there was an assassination attempt on Shinra’s life as he’s trying to gain control of the company.
This is something that is going to be a big reveal later on down the line. This is going to turn Barret’s whole view on things upside down.

Were there actually bodies? I don't remember. My understanding is that they were just not at their post and that Cloud and company's interpretation of that was that someone took them out.

If it was another Avalanche Cell, knocking out(not kill) the guard then disappearing for 20mins, and comeback later after a big shootout has already occurred makes zero sense. So, I don’t think so.

Zack is working with Rufus, and it's why Rufus can see the whispers. It would stand that if Aerith can share knowledge, so can Zack
Pretty sure Zack didn't see them though. That was us watching a convergence event take place

.... I just remember that cloud seems to get his head ache at important parts. Such as when Aerith mentions Zack... well do you remember at the beginning and the group is doing the blow up the reactor? Barret is shouting at Cloud and only at the point that Barret says “are you a loyal little doggie” Cloud has his head ache thing! I LOVE your videos and this theory is getting me excited!

When you mentioned Zack being Stamp, I was reminded that Angeal had called him, "Zack the Puppy" in Crisis Core, so yeah, that was a big "a-ha!" moment. Great Video
36:35, The wounded puppy on Zack 's back (Beagle) can also be seen as Cloud in this theory as well due to his left paw having a bandage on it...... the same place Cloud has geo-stigma....... coincidence?

Noticed another peice of evidence to your theory. During the first chapter when Barret says, "Wonder is little stamp can bite the hand that feeds him." Cloud has a "PTSD moment" at first you might think he is reacting to not being soldier but I think he is actually reacting to stamp. (Zack)

According to Vans In the Japanese Version of the song there's a line about Stamps collar being a Symbol of Courage/Justice which the Kanji for Symbol could also mean Proof of Existence which matched something Zack tells Cloud in the original series about Cloud brcoming his living Legacy.
Hey~ There's Ray. But, yeah. I'm very, very convinced that this is what's happening. Because I picked up on Avalanche being way too involved in shit. And the timing of that other cell raiding the same place as Cloud and the others is way too perfect. Something else is going on.
Ray also mentioned that, if Zack surviving is the will of the planet because it needs him to sort of be the ace in the hole against Sephiroth, then Cloud *cannot* know that Zack's alive. Sephiroth would read that in a heartbeat and the gig is up. Sephiroth would change tactics to neutralize the new threat in a heartbeat. So, every time someone mentions Zack, or something that would trigger Cloud into remembering him, the planet itself shuts that down real quick. Like, this go around, it might not be Cloud suppressing his own memories, it might very well be the damn planet.
They tell us that Jessie's theory is that mako poisoning is when someone's spirit is stuck between their body and the heart of the planet, and the lifestream is "memory and hope," so Cloud's spirit/mind coming back to his body *missing some things* would be well within the planet's power to do.

When you mentioned at 33:45 what would happen if the cells were combined I remembered the scene where Hojo told Cloud that he never was a soldier. Barret and Tifa didn't react to that and I still wonder why.
Very interesting theory! Good ideas! and the idea that Zack is on a mission that the planet called on him as a last ditch effort to help them achieve is pretty awesome.
It's awesome when you think of how many people he's influenced. Aerith's confidence is directly tied to Zack's influence. Also, Cloud's confidence is tied to him as well! Simply awesome character!
I screamed when I thought about this "a character who would look like Jessie but be with Finn, Al, AND Zack," (my next thought) "huh could a graphically upscaled Cissnei's look like Jessie?" "We never learned her real name."
To that point, why wouldn't she be with an ALIVE ZACK. Maybe not romantically since Zack loves Aerith, but the point is though that it is during this period after the events of Crisis Core that AN OPENING appears on the Turks Team. Elaina joins the Turks as the newby. Who did she replace? Cissnei? Maybe. But, why isn't Cissnei on the team anymore? While I don't know the original answer I do know that the hero is alive.
i always assumed cissnei quit after zack was killed and watched over his parents in gongaga. could be some interesting food for the next part.
Shinra captured Zack in near-death state, and after being rejuvenated in a vat of Jenova cells, given prosthetic limbs akin to Darth Vader or Mecha-Freiza.
Zack was immune to the jenova cells so that outcome is quite literally impossible :/

@@Americansikkunt Yes, Zack is immune to jenova. It is also adressed in the original FF7 when you trigger the secret scene with cloud and him in the shinra manor or if you read the test results. one subject was heavily poisoned due to mako overdose but was also affected by jenova (cloud) and the other showed no response to the jonva cells (zack), which literally means immunity.
as far as now the only "meaning" behind it or rather purpose is to establish even further how cloud is actually inferior to zack in any way...but he HAS TO grow in his mindset and as a person to overcome things like being controled. Cloud is the inpure and almost failing hero stereotype while zack is the pure and standing tall stereotype.
It COULD possibly get relevant for the plot in the future since zack is established as alife in another timeline. possibly to do something cloud couldn't (maybe saving aerith, who knows)

my theory is he's the founder of avalanche. the creators said that stamp is very important. if you notice the one that flies by zack is a "puppy" version of the ones that jesse, biggs and wedge use.
The way I see it is when the crew defeated the arbiters of fate it changed the timeline from point of their first interference which was at the time of zacks death so everything after that moment was changed .
If we end up having 2 Clouds in the same place I will need to have a talk with the directors and Kitase.
Omg Zack / Aerith and Sephiroth can be like Lightning and Cauis, pulled outside of the timelines to observed and take actions...?!

Man Pez, what you what you were talking about at 18:00 really made me think about Advent Children for some reason. And I know a lot of people dismiss it, or don't care for it (gorgeous action pieces and cinematography aside) but wouldn't it stand to reason, as hinted at multiple times during that movie, that Zack as been with Aerith in the lifestream this entire time. So if she was somehow allowed to go back with a new mission to change fate, you know damn well that he wouldn't let her go it alone. He's alive. Somewhere. No doubts about it. Being the good angel he always was and became in the end :3
Love this idea a lot! Would definitely love this more then just an alternate timeline that would just feel like an after thought when it's all said and done. I think there is a definite way to use Zack without it feeling cheated, which you mentioned about Sephiroth abusing time, so the world is like, this is all we can do. Great video my dude!

@@FinalFantasyPeasant In Jessie's parents house you see the "Beagle-stamp" and there is the word ORIGINAL also on that stamp (unfortunately). So that part of the theory does not match since it is not referred only to the other dog type stamp. Anyway nice theory as usual!
Nice theory, man! Never thought abou it like that, it's amazing to think how much Zack could have played behind the scenes all this time, the idea of having him all along is mind blowing ^^
He definitely has the connections to makes things happen, probably has the resources to start this, he was a Soldier 1-Class, even after defecting from Shinra e should have some "savings" somewhere.
And I do believe specially in the part that he is building his own Avalanche, after all he was some sort of tutor for new Soldier members like Angeal was for him in the beginning of the Crisis Core.
By working with the Turks he may have learned some tricks on sneaking around and getting/planting info.
All in all, I don't think anyone else would be so prepared as him!

Stamp song is quite interesting indeed, if you heard the first half, at the end it says take a stand at Shinra, but on the second half there's no mention on Shinra instead become the chorus which says stamp never stops and now still kicking bad guys butt.

What if it was called Crisis Core because that’s the story of Zack dying, and the beginning or “core” reason for the Crisis (the 500 yr ending at the end of OG) that is to be averted in Remake? 🤔

okay so what if the reason zack survived his encounter was actually because of sephiroth, as we know sephiroth seems to have some control over the whispers so maybe he needed to ensure zack's survival to complete his plan.

I like this theory. It's like Aerith and Zack saw the original timeline saved, walked out of the church only to be sent to a branch in the timeline Sephiroth created.
It's like a remake and a sequel based around first waifu and husbando.

If anything, Zack being alive at the end, what ever may come, I feel represents the "death" of the non Cloud , Cloud. With the Zack living, Cloud doesnt go crazy and has already learned to be himself vs the past where he was haunted by sephiroth the whole time. Even if they never meet, symbolically he has saved Cloud
Thinking of Stamp as Zack is a new theory and well appreciated. I was already thinking that the only way Biggs and Wedge could be alive is if someone else went up there and got them. Who else could be a wild card within the game other than Zack? Also, I think there's more to that Sector 7 lab too. It almost seemed as if Cloud was flashing back as if he had been down there once and not just flashing back to being a lab experiment in general. I think that's why it was more of a cinematic event when the whispers tossed him out. I really love your theories Pez. I think you're finding more connections.

Honestly the thought of an alternative timeline scared the hell out of me because that’s really dangerous territory, but I absolutely love the idea of Zack actually being out there in this timeline. It does make me wonder how the memory transfer happened though. Because wasn’t the trigger Zack telling Cloud that he is Zack’s living legacy? Or was it something else that I’m forgetting. And that ending montage made me cry

Zack told him to be like him and he just did that but the trauma messed with him along with jenova and mako over dose that lead to him thinking he was zack due to brain damage.
Zack is a living specimen as a 1st Class Soldier WITH S Cells ontop of being a standard Mako and Jenova cell infused Soldier.

I am not trashing Cloud here cause he is 1 of my favourite characters in the entire franchise but *Zack* is my number 1 favourite
Zack has the *BEST* Character development and he for that reason he was EVEN *Nominated* in *Japan* to be above Cloud Strife in the *Rankings* as a well Character development
Zack isn't 1 *dimensional* as some people *intend* to say in order to trash the character
Zack *may be smiling* but he *dies on the inside*

My theory is that when you fought the last boss on the other side of the rift you were outside time and space so when you defeated the will of the planet you erased the influence the planet had since the beginning. Upon returning to the planet a lot has been changed, but only the characters involved will remember what has taken place. I predict you’ll see Jessie as a performer at the Golden Saucer.

But, if you search for the temperament of Stamp's breed on Google, there is a list of traits. (Beagle Temperament) It is also interesting if you look up the other dog breed. It's almost the opposite, except for one that they have in common. (Yorkshire Terrier Temperament) Their color spots are kind of reverse too. One has mainly black fur on its back, the other has light or silvery fur. The imagination you have is amazing, Keep it up!

Ahhhhhh, I love this theory! I was thinking about this theory yesterday, but not in as much detail as you. I think of it as the "merging fates" timeline aka new timeline of FF7 going forward. It either going to be this, or the multiple timeline that can somehow interact thing. I would actually prefer the "merging fate" timeline where Zack exists in the same timeline as the others and people's memories slowly get re-written according to butterfly effect stuff.
Anyway, great video! I'm glad you made the Stamp and Zack connection. I always thought there was more to it than just indicating a different timeline/merging fate thing and Stamp being a simple mascot. You made a compelling argument for how Stamp really plays into things :D
I had a similar idea regarding Zack and his role on Avalanche. I agree that Zack either effects avalanche or is part of avalanche and has ties to shinra through kunsel. But also I think that clouds seeing his old comrade was also important for the story because it foreshadows that not everyone has strong loyalty towards shinra even though they work for the mega corporation. I do read, and listen to a lot of other things too, Rufus being influenced is also something that I think may be important too because if Rufus was given some memories he’d realize how peril things got in advent children. I appreciate things like this keep up the great work

What if the two stamps represent both Zack and Cloud?
Remember, Zach's original goal was to start a merchant company with Cloud in Midgar.
Zach lives, so... perhaps the two Stamps are representing them both. One where Zach is helping (Remake) one where Cloud is helping (OG, because there is no Zach to hire.)
Zach, is likely working as a mercenary, for Avalanche, without Barrett's cell knowing. This is why the other Wutai groups were showing up, particularly when the team needed them - because of Zach giving intel to Wutai as a merc.
