This guy is so frank and honest: what a great person
I've always said the bullet in the Vita was the loss of Monster Hunter to the 3DS, and it's wild to see it said out loud.
For Americans, you have to understand that portable gaming is HUGE in Japan, and Monster Hunter was one of the biggest portable series in Japan. It being exclusive on a competitor's platform was massive.
Insane Collab
Monster Hunter made me get the New 3DS XL as a second 3DS and it made me a Monster Hunter Fan
You could see evidence of this panic in stuff like God eater and freedom wars being big pushes on vita.
It’s funny how the mainline Monster Hunter and portable Monster Hunter games switched consoles.
Just as I expected. A new Monster Hunter entry (a new numbered entry no less!) becoming your competitor's exclusive basically spelled doom for the Vita.
I'm still baffled that Sony managed to fumble the series like that. Remember that the 2nd best-selling PSP game GLOBALLY is MH Portable 3rd, and that game only released in Japan! That series' pull was simply crazy there at the time.
EDIT: I personally bought 2 3DSes just for MH4U (my first one broke). Played it to this day and the game still slaps! So Yoshida's regret about not getting it on the Vita is absolutely valid.
This man should have taken over PlayStation, not Hulst 😢
Why isn’t this man in charge again?
Shu!
This guy is a liar, Capcom fought with Sony over Monster Hunter servers and that's the real reason why we got several MH games exclusively on Nintendo systems.
Sony lost a franchise that was born on ps2 only because they were too greedy, and Capcom s revenge was MH4. Of course he must have had a heart attack when they announced it
Reeeeedge racerrr.
Different fella than Kaz Hirai.

Blows my mind people still do this, especially adults. Embarrassing
