I feel like some of them mistook comfort food with lazy meal. Sohan got bad score because she had to cook her comfort food but I don’t understand why. My favorite comfort food lately is lasagna soup and it takes time to cook

I think it’s difficult for comfort food to fall into a certain category. Mine takes all day to prep, but my husband loves a quick greasy pizza, because he grew up with it as a treat. I guess it’s mostly subjective

It was interesting that many of them considered the ease of making the dish a part of the comfort. To me the only thing I consider is the taste and how I feel when eating it. Meatloaf and mashed potatoes are my ultimate comfort meal. It's like a warm hug from my mom.
That mac and cheese with pulled pork looked amazing. Now I want some.

Yeah, exactly! Personally, I love the cooking part almost more than the eating. When I cook a stir fry, the heat of the pan as I hover my hand over it to see if I should put the sweet corn yet, not having to worry about getting a bunch of hot oil on me... Its just nice
A comfort food is something that makes you feel comforted. Ease of cooking and time of preparation shouldn’t even be considered.

Comfort food doesn’t mean it can’t be made from scratch. The meal just has to do what it does and make you feel what you need to feel upon eating it. Personally speaking eating after I’ve made the meal feels more rewarding because of the work put in

It's so interesting what defines a comfort food for someone. Some find it not comforting if it takes time to cook. For me, knowing exactly what ingredients and preparation and flavors went into a meal is comforting. The most comforting meal for me is one that I (at least helped) put effort and love into making.

My recent comfort food is instant ramen (Indomie - iykyk) (I, unlike many, discovered this way after my uni days) but my forever comfort food is toast with peanut butter.

See I don't like how Sybil keeps making comments about certain dishes having to be made or taking more time to be made their comfort dishes. Usually the more comforting and more work and love gets involved and it's necessary to make a really good comfort dish
Comfort food , I like beef stew and of course being from the south I love fried catfish, greens , mac& cheese or potato salad. And of course bbq!
My Mom was a Southern cook and I was raised on all the usual stuff. Pinto beans with ham hock, fried potatoes, greens, cornbread and sweet tea is probably my ultimate comfort meal.

Noodle soup. I made with Maggi mee, egg and miso paste (and vegetables) yesterday because I was sad. Also it’s impossible to make one portion, so it was a two day comfort food.

I have to say Ryan’s comfort food of pulled pork macaroni and cheese looks SO DELICIOUS 🤤 💯. Sohan’s veggie nachos looks GOOD too 😋💯. I’m gonna definitely try to add some pulled pork with my macaroni and cheese next time. It seems like a great combination .Great video 💯.

I have a comfort food for each season… Spring obviously calls for SPRINGROLLS - I love making them together with my girlsfriends and then enjoy them over a cold glass of wine and loads of girltalk! Summery comfort food for me is either shrimp tempura w/ sweet chilli sauce or a homemade fro-yo with berries ; for Autumn/Fall I’d go for a roasted butternut squash and sweet potato soup with crumbled feta cheese or blue cheese and in winter I need a big serving of Tartiflette: potatoes, cheese, white wine and loads of bacon

The pulled pork mac and cheese - my take is substituting the pork for pulled beef and adding some sriracha. It's indulgent! Also ALDI prawn gyozas are heavenly. Everyone here needs to try them.

Bread, bottom side brushed with oil
Sauce (pizza and pasta sauce + chipotle sauce)
A layer of toppings (corn mixed with butter, salt, red chilli powder and a bit of mayonnaise)
A hell lot of cheese
Air fried at 180°C for 7 minutes
Chili Con Carne is a classic for me i love it

I don’t even know what my comfort food is called. I eat it every time I’m visiting my brother in Ireland but he’s the one ordering it. It’s a box of fries with a lot of cheese and I think 3 or 4 different sauces (one is probably curry or something). It’s so good and brings me such a nostalgia but I eat it maybe once a year
My ex mother in law taught me how to cook! Sybil learn! Simple is not always good! My mother did standard easy dishes. Once I met my ex mother in law I fell in love with food! She made everything from Spanish to Syrian food! I love Asian foods so I experiment now❤️❤️

My comfort food is Aloo Gobi Masala cooked in a nice coconut curry milk gravy with garlic naan on the side… absolutely breath taking. Makes my soul sing! I live near an Indian restaurant and when I need something to hug my soul I buy their Aloo Gobi.. :D
Ryan's mac and cheese was the only true "comfort food" on the list. Comfort foods are foods that bring nostalgia and stick to your ribs......theyre meant to be warm and dense and cooking them is part of the love.......its not about how quickly you can get food on your plate.
My fave comfort food is a good rich braised beef and vegetables with dumplings....slow cooked for 6 - 8 hours so the meat is falling apart tender with the veg thrown in a few hours before you eat so that they dont go mushy with fluffy, scone like dumplings to thicken the sauce and sop up the gravy with.
As a Texan, thank you!! Comfort food is not synonymous with quick or healthy! It’s almost always the opposite lol. Having some greens with a comfort dish is totally fine but it being healthy should notttt be the main concern. Do not come at me with a healthy comfort food lmao 🙃🙃🙃
Mine is Korean fire noodles. Original hits best and I add shredded mozzarella, ham and then crack an egg in there (don’t scramble it-let it poach!) then you lift the noodles up through the cheese and the runny yolk. Heaven!

As a flight attendant I often buy Jin ramen at JFK or wherever else I see Korean ramen (shin ramyun is too salty imo) and I’ll buy those mozzarella cheese sticks, Chuck those in and let it sit til they melt. Perfect night flight snack because lord knows I’m sick of plane food.
In America comfort food is complex and sometimes take all day because our moms cook it for us xD
