    I noticed you did an alignment a few months before this job. 2 questions: Did you change the driver's side as well? Did you do alignment after this job?

    Didn’t you have to torque it at ride height? or is that on the other arm? Referring to the straight one

    • @daveraymond2265
      @daveraymond2265  Год назад +2

      You only need to torque the inner bolt at ride height. The inner bolt uses a rubber bushing. The outer ball joint can be torqued anytime.

    Super helpful video, do you have any tips about how to get the front lower arm back into the end alignment? Got the ball joint in the spindle and attached back to the shock, but just cant get it back into the final back alignment to screw in

    Hey thanks is it the same as Audi Q5 2008 3.0 TDI ?

      The part states that it fits 2009-2010 Q5, so its not exactly the same.

    What ball joint separator did you use? There are a lot of them where the fork won’t fit.

      Hey, mine barely fit on the side of the bolt and it ended up breaking the bolt at the same time it came out. Sounded like a gunshot.

    Hello ✋🏻, i need your advise please. My ride is Audi A4 2006 2.0L ... I had a complete set of control arms replaced today (total 10pcs), and being aligned afterwards, but unfortunately i experienced a very stiff steering wheel. Any clue ?

    • @daveraymond2265
      @daveraymond2265  Год назад

      Is it possible your wheel just seems to be stiff because you now have all new tight ball joints or is it unusually stiff?

      Hey Dave, thanks for replying .
      In fact, i left the mechanic garage and drove 16 km to home. And its insanely stiff. Do you believe i should give more time ?

      Was there before replacing the suspension?? Check the u joints of the steering column inside and outside the car , if u have steering wheel light on can be some malfunction on the steering on electric rack

    Why did you replace the entire control arm? My independent German vehicle mechanic said that I need to replace the entire arms because all of the bushings are shot. Why not just replace the bushings? He’s quoted me over $900 for the job.

    • @daveraymond2265
      @daveraymond2265  Год назад +1

      My issue was a worn and loose outer ball joint which is an integral part of the arm and cannot be replace separately. If your bushings are shot then the ball joint is probably not far behind. The entire arm cost $125 from Autozone. A Genuine Audi control arm will cost you $440. I think $900 is a bit much and probably what a dealership would charge if not more.

    How much was the control arm? Thank you

    • @daveraymond2265
      @daveraymond2265  Год назад

      I think I paid about $150 for it.
      It was not an OEM part.

      @daveraymond2265 really good video. Did you had any vibration in the steering wheel while braking? Got a knocking noise from the front while I drive slow and slightly press the brakes through potholes or pull hard and when I'm doing 70mph and press the brake I get a bit of vibration in the steering wheel. Thanks
