    This is so much better than the AK-12 that’s being used by the military. The new one is basically a AK-74 with Picatinny rails on the dust cover and the Handguard. Other than that, it has the 2 round burst that’s useless

    • @andresvalverde5182

      I know i'm a bit late, but the only reason why there's burstfire option on guns is to make the less seasoned recruit able to at least have somewhat of a chance to hit the target or make a decent grouping. Same reason why the first M16 got adopted with 3-round burst fire, simply to make a Pvt. hit and not get his fingers glued on the trigger out of nervosity/adrenaline.

      this AK12 made by vladimir zlobin can not withstand the Russia Ministry of Defense test
      KC did not complete the 7,62 version in time, which goes against the ratnik purpose
      and last but not least, this rifle is as light as possible, the recoil is low, but the reliability is specially low when the lower handguard broke when mounting GP25 grenade laucher

      @@giangnguyendac9149 Those are all easily fixable problems. The gun didnt get adopted because Russia is broke. Even their new AK12 is filled with issues but since it was cheaper, it won. They could have bought zenitco attachments for their AK74Ms but that was more costly aswell so they made their own. Handguard doesnt hold 0 for lasers, its too short so not able to C clamp, the selector lever over rides, stock doesnt use AR15 buffer tube and doesnt lock in properly when closed, the burst fire often doesnt work and shoots 3 bullets instead of 2, also adds unnecessary frature on the gun, cant properly clean the gas block because they welded it in place...The only good thing that came out of the current AK12 is the magazine, dustcover and iron sight. They didnt even provide optics for their soldiers, at that point, why even bother.

The AK-12 uses the same basic gas system as other AKs. As far as I can tell, most of the changes in the AK-12 are ergonomic (fire selector/safety, charging handle, sights, rails, stock, etc.)

      The ambidextrous charging handle was prone to malfunctions and the bolt-lock mechanism was noted for causing similar problems.

      That's precisely what the Russians said, however, it could just be post-facto justification in order to shelf a more expensive (and potentially) better design.
      A case can be made that Russian SOF units would have been issued the expensive AK-12 prototype if it really was a quantum leap in capability.

    I would imagine the Russian military was reluctant to adopt it at first because it's designed and looks like it strips a bit differently compared to the standard 74. The fire control group is no doubt very different, and more mechanically complex if it allows for burst fire and full auto.
    Honestly, if the burst fire really works out (could easily be removed in a new design if not), I think it'd be Kalashnikov's Magnum Opus. It combines a refined and redesigned 74 with features of some great modern assault rifles, namely the bolt catch, ambidexterity, customization, and doing away with that dreadful ComBloc rail. It's definitely a classic reborn for the modern era.
    Sure hope we can get some semi-auto variants for the civilian market here. I have heard that Izhmash had a shipment ready, but when this stink over Crimea started, it got put on the backburner with this ban on Russian imports (which also included some sweet surplus 5.45 and 54R). Honestly, I don't think Obama would have given two fucks about Ukraine, he was just trying to get back at Putin for putting his pompous, thin-skinned ass in his place over Syria, and also looking for another excuse to shit on us law-abiding gun owners.

      I'd rather the Galil ace in 5.56 with a regular Galil 35 cartrige mag, does the same thing but with a solution to the issue of dust in the gun, also burst fire like that kinda is useless if it is for skrubs who are bad with full auto, anyway it also has a 7.62x39 and 51 variant. Anyway it would be nice for a AK-12 in the USA.

    • @boocomban
      @boocomban 8 лет назад +1

      +Baker remember m16 pa2/a4 are bust weapons, also m4 are bust as well, and galil ace is garbage to compare with ar and ak in 5.56 and 7.62. It have lower verlocity and more heavy. Not mention alot of gun have bust selector not because of soldiers cant control fully auto but because it's use for fast firing but still maintain accuracy and firerate without wasting too much amunitions. Almost every moderm rifles nowadays have bust fire selector with their rifles not for fun. Dumping whole mag fully auto is stupid and pointless since over 100 yards bullets will fly everywhere. And even machine gun only shoot short bust 5 to 10 rounds instead of dumping 100-200 rounds fully auto at enemies, it will reduce barrel life also cant hit shit and waste ammo for no reasons. Atleast use real firearms before talking garbage

    • @baker90338
      @baker90338 8 лет назад

      I understand but mainly I prefer auto because you can also just tapfire firearms (aka short controlled bursts) also most firearms have trouble with weight compared to ar-15 based firearms , also the m16 had burst fire because of soldiers not able to control their weapons. Also burst fire is not so good with reliability an example is the m16a2. In a nutshell no offense but burst fire is kinda a crutch

    • @boocomban
      @boocomban 8 лет назад +1

      Actually, army designed m16a2/a4 are busts weapons not because of soldiers cant control of it. It because fully auto make m16 jam like everytime. They realize in vietnam war, xm16a1 alway jamming since all of gas fill dirrectly in upper reciever. Also double feeds usually happened on fully automatic. Im not say full auto are bad, they are good in many sistuations like supressing fire or cqb combat when time to reacts are very short. If you say soldiers can't handle fully automativ then you are very wrong. It's just no one dumping all magazine in long range engagements. Short bust are more controlable and saving alot of amunitions no one want to run out of amunitions in middle of firefights

Unfortunately, yes, we are very limited domestically. :( I believe that the AK-74 strikes a perfect balance of proven reliability, good service record, comparable accuracy to standard milspec AR-15s, simplicity, etc. A very fine rifle, but I really hope US manufacturers will start making more ammunition and importing more ammo for the 74. I've wanted one for years and never liked AKMs for their 7.62x39 ammo.

If the sanctions are lifted (unlikely to happen anytime soon) then I'm sure KC will flood the US market with as many AK-12s as they can produce and ship. Alternatively, they may set up a factory in a country that the US doesn't have sanctions against and export the AK-12 from there. Similar to how the Russian designed Strike One pistol was built in Italy so it could be imported into the US despite there being a trade agreement between the US and Russia to not export handguns from Russia to the US.

    Great video cool gun. I like the blocky look to it. To comments: stop assuming it's DC that keep banning or preventing the weapons. The only reason ak74s are in the US is because the com bloc nations sent them here. This weapon will never be allowed in the US. All of these caliber and weapon designs are licensed so they cant be made in the US without special persmission. So when people say I hope a SVD gets made in the US. It won't, Russia has to sign off license for the gun. Stop acting like" me me me I want this gun and anyone who says no is stupid and anti freedom".

    I hope when Trump gets in office hopefully he lifts the executive order ban/sanction on the US receiving Russian weapons. All these new AKs and we can't get any of them.

      Ak's are alot of fun to shoot. If you were to shoot one you would want more lol. Plus Alot of people are collectors for russian weapons.

      Exotic Flounder 4150 barrel and a side mount that retains zero. Torture tests and etc. show it to be a tank. Even the DDI and all those other AK's people praise don't stand up to it from what I've read and seen. They apparently did a rolling stock change on the bolt carrier group with a stronger metal so mushrooming is rare now. I think they got it right.

      Yep. We got an old PSO style scope from Kalinka optics set up on my dads. Holds zero after 200 rounds so far.

    This is the cancelled ak12 based on the ak 200 system
    Not the final production ak12 which is based on the proven ak400 system

      Why did thwy cancelled it? if its one thing I wish the Ak improved, is the bolt opening. If the bolt was sealed the Ak would be perfect in my view.
