Excelente interpretación de la obra maestra de Strauss, qué delicia escuchar música tan sublime y qué decir del maestro Mehta, divino, sólo verlo vibrar conduciendo la orquesta impresiona. La mejor representación para mí. Gracias
This opening of Richard Strauss', "Also Sprach Zarathustra" is exceptional. Being flooded with Musical Majesty, with the opening of this Treasure, ia a rare delight. Zubin Mehta, and the Dresden Orchestra performed this brilliantly...
@@johannschneider6372 Of course, but Kleiber's repertoire was quite small and Mehta's is massive. After almost 50 years of career very few conductors need a score for the standard repertoire.
I didnt know that, But he did a briliant job as cnoductor of the Iseael Philharmonic. Dis you know he conducted this for the sound track of 2001 A space Odyssey?
Zubin Mehta is probably the most uniquely qualified person to play this music. As a Zoroastrian and a follower of Zarathustra he is playing it from the heart and with a passion that comes through in heaps.
Just to let you know, I am Zoroastrian too(same clan as Mehta's that is the Parsis) but this music was written by Richard Strauss for the Zarthustra that was Frederich Nietzche's mouthpiece. The one who famously declared "God is dead". Although Nietzche chose the name Zarthustra for the declaration of his message because he thought Zarthustra(the Iranian prophet) was the first one to create this madness of good vs evil, so let him be the one to get them(the people) out from it. Strauss wrote it as a tribute to Nietzche and his Zarthustra.
@Haakon Dahl Oh I see, got it now. I agree, the only thing that makes Mehta qualified to conduct this piece is the fact that he is an experienced conductor and nothing else. And this fact just doesnt apply only to him, it does for everyone else too.

@@GerGV Yes ofc but the score was written (by Strauss) for Nietzche's Zarthustra not for the Iranian prophet. Although Nietzsche was influenced by the Iranic prophet and chose to name his mouthpiece after him.

This is clearly not Zubin Mehta who actually does a better job with the score -- if you bought his recording. It may be all a matter of acoustics, but I have not heard a better performance than the one used by Stanley Kubrick in 2001: A Space Odyssey, which consisted of: Herbert von Karajan conducting the Wiener Philharmoniker. I've listened to 25 or more renditions, and the von Karajan performance seems perfect to me.
You got that right! Karajan was truly the greatest conductor of them all. And he actually knew every piece by memory in the truest sense of the word, bar by bar, instrument by instrument, note by note, nuance by nuance. The music was all stamped into his brain.
Is a nice interpretation but Karajan's timpani sounds out of tune with the Vienna Philharmonic I don't know why. I think Karl Bohm and the Berlin Philharmonic sound better. On the other way Zubin Metha is one of the best interpreters of this Master Piece. Specially I love the one with The Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.

Wonderful! Viele Grüße from the Münsterland in Northwestern Germany, Bernd.
Had the lp for decades. Definitive recording.

There's so much more to Also Sprach Zarathustra than just the beginning prelude...
True-but its such a brilliant opening what comesnext is a bit of an anticlimax!=Personally I blame Stanley Kubrick for that!

I don't think I have ever seen Maestro Mehta use a score - he seems to have absorbed hundreds of pieces of music into his very bones!

Parther - parsifal - perser
The trumpets effed up the beginning. Too much theatrical fluff not enough authenticity.
