I will say I had a loooong season of singleness and am now married for 7 years with 2 kiddos, praise God. Now in hindsight I treasure my season of singleness because my it brought me the closest I have ever been to God and really built the foundation that I draw from even now. Keep putting yourself out there, don't give up. I asked God to take away that desire for a husband if that path was not for me, and He never took that desire away...so then I felt more at peace because the desire I had did not go away however I felt strongly that it would come...all in God's timing of course.
This video is amazing!😊💕 Sometimes a single season can be a blessing because I feel not every one is destined to be in a relationship or marriages. I find more comfort in my single season season with God then to be in a relationship or Marriage that doesn’t fulfill me. I Love being single and mainly focused on God. 💕I know one day it may change but for now I’m just love myself with myself as the woman God created.🙏🏾
I really needed this video right now. I just had a huge fight/disagreement w my bf and it is rly hard bc of how i view some things and I struggle with thinking I am better than those who don’t know how to live the way I do or something like that…and times like this is when idk how I can have a bf rn. Meaning like how am I actually ready. I know I can’t be perfect but things like this hurt a lot bc I’m like how can we move forward when this feels like a big roadblock…He is also my first bf so I have already waited so much, and God told the both of us that we were the one for each other, so it makes me more committed to making sure we both are moving forward and all that. And I am also a really honest person. Not like brutally honest lol, but it hurts me to hold things in basically. And so I let this one thing out to him and it was very backhanded and I didn’t realize it, but it’s apart of how I view things and now he knows even more that I see him and his family like that and others like that. And hearing u guys say how I am not alone in this struggle rly helped. I actually just did read a verse too about how our fellow christians are going through the same hardships around the world too. I forget what it was lol. But this is so hard rn…and ofc our 7 month anniversary is tmr which feels weird bc idk how to move forward with this. I will be praying and leaving this in God’s hands and prob need to spend some time in worship too, but idk. Just felt like commenting that bc i wasnt even planning on watching this video but I love ur videos so so much and I knew it was going to help me. I also rly never comment haha so this was something different for me to do too lol :)

That was hilarious during the GRWM when you said Wow this waiting season is testing your faith...God's timing is so much broader than we are capable of imagining, let alone seeing. Faith is based on believing that he moves mountains because he can and does daily! The truth is that the air we breathe is a gift but because we take it for 'granted' we don't see the miracle that happens each and every time we breathe in and exhale. We do that only because God has provided the oxygen and blend of gases that we need. He plans our lives literally down to the molecule! 🌺

the point is not to look at the idea of "why does God allow bad things to happen to people" but RATHER to reflect on how struggle and pain entered the world: through our sin.
this is why we struggle this is why there is pain.

A really great song is 'Even If' by MercyMe which basically talks about exactly the same thing, when God doesn't show up the way we expect Him too and how even if He doesn't show up immediately or in the way we expect He's still good and faithful. I really recommend listening to it!
What good timing for this video to come out for me. I've been going through a waiting season on trying to get more connected in a church community and make close Christian friends. And since it's not happening on my timeline and as fast as I want it to go, it's hard to ignore the enemy's lies of "this is too hard, just stop going to church, small group, etc." But I keep trying to perserve through the spiritual warfare and trusting in God's timing and plans for me 🙏🏻💕

Yes keep the Faith! Love content & advice for those that are single & living Christian life. I was single for 25 years before I met my loving husband, so worth the wait 💕 It's all in God's timing for sure but prepare yourself for marriage if that is what you desire. Read books on marriage such as "Marriage: 6 Gospel Commitments Every Couple Needs to Make" by Paul David Tripp, "The Meaning of Marriage" by Timothy Keller, "Sacred Marriage" by Gary Thomas, "Now You're Speaking my Language" by Gary Chapman, also get advice from other couples. I wish I would have done that in my season of singleness. Make a list of characteristics that you are looking for in future husband & give it to God. Prepare for your next season whether new job, ministry, joining small group, moving to another town/state, etc. Try to meet up with friends & family as much as you can, they love you so much!
🙏🏽 In the meantime… In the Waiting season … I reminded myself, it’s not that God is not working … it’s HE is doing HIS will, I need to see in the wait I am being grown, stretched, humbled and tested ! So, when I hear myself say where is God ? I quickly say no Lita … Where is your focus and trust 🙏🏽 I too am Single and this season is Hope Filled Summer Season ! Whoop Whoop

Perfect to watch while I'm on my coffee break 🥰 By the way, I also just want to share that it's possible that you're going through redemptive suffering (Colossians 1:34) about being single. You have shared how sometimes it feels unfair that other Christians get their prayers answered right away, but not for others, and I sometimes feel that way, too.
I think though that God is answering this specific prayer of yours first: to love others with a selfless kind of love. I think you being single is a way for God to use you as hope for those who are going through the same thing. And I say this because you also personally help me cope with being single. I'm 31 and I've only had toxic relationships in the past, and it's only really now that I've come to totally surrender that area of my life to the LORD with your help.

Hi Ashley, answering your question at 16:41 'Why does God allow terrible things to happen?' I have briefly read a few commentaries about this and this is the conclusion I have gathered. God wants to show us the epitomy of his glory, so by allowing us to experince terrible things, reveals God's ability to save us from the tribulation. When we are saved, we realise that only God could save us from such a terrible circumstance that seemed impossible to escape. After God saves us, we begin to comprehend a human being with only natural strengths couldn't save us in this way, so it has to be God's supernatural strength. I believe this is true because I have seen this in my own life & the bible references to this concept through the tribulations and glory that people in the bible face. A main example is, Jesus suffered agonising torture then he was resurrected and exalted among everyone and in heaven. ❤

Hey Ash, I was just gonna try to let you know that you’re not alone. I’ve been going through a waiting season for about three years I would say I really don’t know what that kind of feels like to just have like every wish. Granted I guess I would’ve more experience that as a child since I grew up in such a like Christian home and had Christ around me since the day I was born But a few months ago back in I think it was June. I gave my life to Christ for the first time and really surrendered everything, but I never really went through that like honeymoon. Of him granting every single wish which kind of made me feel a little bit alone, but I feel like God is trying to teach me right now that I need to have faith even when everything seems like it’s going completely downhill and nothing is going the way that I wanted it to and life is just complete chaos. I think he’s teaching me to have patience, be strong, and strengthen my faith through, just like living out his word, and trying to just believe that he moving even when I don’t hear him speaking because I’ve never really heard God speak in that way, but I believe that he can and I know at some point I will be in heaven and I will be able to talk to God and have conversations with him every single day and I know that I’ll be able to see his face and Ash girl you have just been helping me out so much and just realizing that a waiting season doesn’t mean God isn’t moving. It just means that you can’t see him moving that’s why we have to have faith be strong and just hold on and keep on going even through the really hard season, and even though many bad things have happened to me I am so thankful for God because I would not be here if it wasn’t for God.❤❤❤❤✝️✝️✝️😇😇😇😇🙏🙏🙏🙏

I am in a waiting season but unfortunately stepped away from God. I took matters into my own hands; long story short, I made a bad mistake and embarrassed myself in the process. When you and Emily talked about Sarah's story and how she took matters into her own hands I thought of myself. I allowed the enemy to start a snowball effect in my life and I believe that is one thing that caused me to experience what I experienced. I am blessed to have a great community that I can talk to and they have helped me understand what I am going through and start my healing process with God. I would appreciate it if you all could pray for me during this time of healing and growing with God.

So pumped for this series Ash! I loved everything about this first video 🥰 I’m 37, married, and a mom of 2, but you have been such a light in my life. I watch these throughout my work day & I always feel the presence of the Lord. God has me (and has had me) in a season of waiting for a while now. If I’m honest, it’s so hard & sometimes, I question things. I know I shouldn’t, but I’m human. Being in the waiting is HARD. 100% with you on the gap between the content in the season that I’m in and the hope that He can do the thing that I wait so hard on. I’ve been single for a long time, and I was doubting God’s goodness recently. But it hit me hard when you said “If you only believe in God when He gives you what you want 24/7, then you are believing genie not God.” I was even questioning if wanting and praying for my future spouse was not even His will and that I should just quit it. Glad I’m not alone in this. I’ll pray for you Ashley, please pray for me.

thank you so much for making these videos Ash!! i love these so much! if you’re still struggling to see why God allows terrible things to happen, i would tell you he allows them and uses them as ways to draw you closer to him and cause you to rely on him more. God gave us free will on earth to choose him or choose something else, and in doing so he allows the realm of sin to exist. but it just makes it all the more sweeter when we freely choose him over it, and we appreciate him more because we’ve experienced the alternative. hope that helps ❤

Ashely when you said "I'm not going to meet people if I stay in my house" I felt that. I have been needing a push to study for my learners permit because oh my gosh it is just so boring. But when you said I felt like God whispered in my ear "you have been praying for community but you aren't doing anything to get closer to being able to meet people."

Glad to hear I am not alone! It's overwelming because I went through a peak season to now just completely waiting for something to happen. I didn't guard my heart because I became bitter towards the many situation and found myself heartbroken. I was letting the enemy win. Now I've chosen to let go of my desire to control things and just humble myself. I took that decision the day I watched the Holy 40 Challenge video. Greatly thankful to you and to God for still lettinng me experience his grace during the storm.

Regarding our waiting seasons, don't be a Sarah. Sarah was told she was going to have a baby and she laughed. But she waited. And waited. Until she took matters into her own hands, giving Hagar to her husband, thinking THAT'S the way they were to have a son. And with that one decision she changed the course of the future for mankind. Muslim (Ishmael descendents) and Christian (Isaac descendents) wars have plagued mankind since. My point: wait on the Lord. It was 13 or 14 years AFTER Ishmael before Isaac was born. God's timing is not our timing. Sarah leaned on her own understanding (or misunderstanding TBH) and she was wrong in that. So be patient. Enjoy your singleness. Your time and attention can wholeheartedly be focused on the Lord in this season. When your mate comes along, in God's timing, you will then be focused on him. Yes, you'll still be focused on God but it won't be the same as in your singleness. Enjoy this season. There are many seasons coming in your life. Walking with God is the best way to enter each of them as they come. You're doing good! Thank you for your videos of encouragement and godly guidance for others. I'm a 55 year old widow, married at 21, blessed with 4 children, and widowed at 46. I've been thru several seasons and I know I have more. But you are a blessing to listen to (my 14 yr old daughter tuned me in to your channel) and even at my age and after the seasons I've walked thru, i still glean good things from your words. ❤ Hang in there. Keep walking with Him and teaching others.

I was thinking about what you said about Got “testing” us and how i think that is almost too negative. I try to think of “testings” as an opportunity for us to return our love, to return our trust, to return our mind and body. He gave himself for us and those seasons give us opportunities to respond and show what we’ve learned and become practical about it. To show and acknowledge our honest need for him, and that it’s only by grace - and even if not, he is still good. Often in the hardest times we experience God the most because that’s when we truly have to rely on him and he can truly show up! In the impossible situations he can show that nothing is impossible for him and he will be glorified the most 🙌🏼 even visible to others, that saw the impossible but witnessed the unbelievable ❤
