I have great memories of my grandparents; especially, my maternal grandpa. Such a gentle soul with great stories. I'm in my 7th decade and I still miss him. You can't that wisdom any place else but from a grandparent. Randy has such great songs. A lot never got air time. One of those is "Promises". Check that one out.

this is Randy at his best, the message the tone and his voice are perfection, he described my grandfather to a tee and warms my heart every time I hear this.

I'm 65 now but i did know both sets of my Grandparents but only one set of my Great Grandparents. I love those memories. I have now lost all of them my Mom's mother being the last who passed in 2003.

I became a great grandma at 65 last year. My mom, 97, is living, and has 14 great grandchildren and now my great granddaughter makes her a great great grandma.❤

I’m 27, all my great grand parents are gone now but one of them my fathers fathers mother lived until I was 7. I never got to see my paternal grandfather as he died 11 years before I was born but I did get to see his mother. I was only 5 the last time I saw her so I don’t have much memory of her but I remember she liked holding me in her lap when I was a toddler. She had high blood pressure problems and depleted energy due to health problems mixed with her old age so it was easier for her to handle me when I was tired as opposed to when I was active and running around. She was also my fathers last grandparent and Her husband, James died back in 1975.
R.I.P. Great grandma Anna Brown 1910-2003.

This song reminds me so much of my own great grandfather. Except he was 90 years old in NINETY three and my mama's mama was his oldest DAUGHTER 😂
I was 19 when he passed. He had three great great grandchildren and another on the way. He used to hold each of us and say "hello grandchild, you make me great". Ill miss him forever

My paternal grandfather died before I was born and my maternal grandfather died when I was 22. And my parental great grandmother died when I was 7. Still have both my grandmothers.

The timbre of his rich baritone voice is unparalleled. My favorite Randy Travis songs are Reasons I Cheat; Promises; Take Another Swing At Me; This is Me; Look Heart, No Hands; Spirit of a Boy, Wisdom of a Man; That’s Where I Draw the Line; I Told You So; The Box; He Walked On Water; Three Wooden Crosses; Hard Rock Bottom of Your Heart; It’s Just a Matter of Time; On the Other Hand; and Forever and Ever Amen.

Great reactions. There's not a Randy Song I don't love. If not for a reaction - if you haven't heard ; Oscar The Angel. A great follow up to this song for a reaction would be The Box ; another powerful emotion invoking song. Please consider doling a reaction to The Box by Randy.

Also I’m surprised at the end of the video when it went black there wasn’t a text saying in living mentor of Fugate Shamblin and his lifespan.
We know that he lived at least until 1963 as was mentioned in the song but I bet he lived longer than that because the song writer Alan Shamblin was only 4 years old in 1963 so he likely would have had very little Me out of him at all at that age.

Awww . . . pass the kleenex! Isn't that a sweet song? I never got to meet any of my "greats.". In fact, as the youngest child of a youngest child, never got to meet my grandfathers, either. I knew my two grandmothers for a few short years, but they were very old -- one was blind, and one was senile send bed fast. But still and all, I love the beauty of this video, and envy that little guy. Thank you ladies for doing this one!
