    Great information Craig, no doubt about it! you know I was checking out another golf instructor utube channel and he was trying to get across what your talking about in this video , and I hope you don't mind I mentioned I was a member of world class golf and your name about shoulder plane and how much it changed my game, 100% better no shit, look definitely not a PGA player or even close but it has improved my ball striking to were I'm shocked how good I'm hitting the ball! I know my limitations and I'm a realist so I'm going with what I have and without the proper shoulder plane it's going to be a very long day! that's all look I know there alot more to a golf swing but this is the building block to getting there !! Thanks again Craig!

    Positions mean nothing without alignments. You can be in the best positions and still miss the ball. The number 1 alignment is the flat left wrist at impact. If you don't have a flat left wrist at impact nothing will work. All the answers to golf questions are contained in the golfing machine by Homer Kelley. In my opinion the greatest contribution to golf instruction and to golf. 40 years of research by an incredible genius. Thank you Mr Kelley.

    Excellent. I'd wondered about this and concentrating on moving my shoulders up & down rather than horizontally has immediately restored my game. Possibly trying to “turn” more had moved me away from the swing I learnt from Ben Hogan's book 65 years ago.

      agree as ive got better my core and lower body up to up not round as tho im throwing a heavy object high to target, they are using the ground to work against gravity! my arm unit feels like it resists this motion slightly going up and then works with gravity to release down
      You go back like youre going to hit a low shot then change your mind late and hit a high shot!
      Hogan mentions right knuckle pressure in book but prob doesnt stress it enough

    Hi Craig, great video! Not sure if you addressed this question in the video, but all of the pro examples you used were swinging irons… is the shoulder angle dictated but the club length? Would we find the same angles with a driver? If not, what would be the angle changes? Thanks and I apologize if you’ve already answered the question.

    I believe the secret to swinging. through the ball ( hips and all) is to understand that you have to swing the club with enough force FROM THE TOP of the backswing. When you do this you create a force vector AWAY from the line of fight. When you do this, the body will automatically respond to this force by moving the mass of the body toward the target in an attempt to maintain balance.( this is unconscious, and happens. automatically) .When the club reverses direction. in the downswing ,the backward force vector is cancelled, (like releasing the string on a bow). This results in the body rotating towards the target.
    One condition for this to occur is that backswing has to be. long enough so that the initial move in the downswing is a force vector away from the target.Focusing on positions in the swing is no substitute for understanding and focusing on forces, Forces create power, not positions.

    It would be interesting to see comparisons of great players spine tilt away from the target at impact. If most players are tilting their shoulders 55 degrees to the ball. I suspect most will have a pretty similar spine tilt away from the target giving them that 2 arm extension pointing approximately 45 degrees past the ball?

    Any ideas on how to fix my unique problem? I have so much more confidence hitting off the mats because of all the practice at the range. Can consistently hit my targets, and distances are very consistent. I can swing my 5 iron around 98-100 pretty effortlessly. The problem is when I hit off of grass on the course, my divots are so inconsistent, I kind of miss the familiarity of hitting off of mats. Sometimes my divots are too big, sometimes no divots at all, so my distances are not consistent. I also notice that the worse the fairway grass is, the more inconsistent my distances are. If I could fix this, I could get close to scratch I believe.

    • @CraigHansonGolf
      @CraigHansonGolf  Год назад

      Its off easier of mats. You notice the bad shots more off the grass. Mats are heaps easier to hit off. The worse the grass the more inconsistent the contact for most people.
      Hitting of mats most people don’t notice the inconsistent delivery of the club.
      Improving your technique is key.
      I would have to see your swing. I teach hundreds of people online with extremely detailed swing analysis.
      The same as the youtube video with the voice over except with your swing on the screen.
      Send me your swing. I’ll fix you!

    If you could show that your special numbers are sig. different (from orthodox angles) for say a shank, fat shot, drop kick, foozler, duck hook and so on you might have the beginning of a case, but you won't pick up the true hallmarks of the engine room without much more fine-grained analysis. So what you're presenting isn't evidence based in the scientific meaning of the expression, it's just a series of abbreviated uncontrolled cases which are preliminary to proving anything scientifically and indeed well short of a theoretical underpinning. If you were properly advised you would know better.
