Agreed. I really don’t get the preoccupation with trying to make music videos for pilots. I am engineer. If I want music I have plenty of other entertainment choices.
That’s why watching is optional. Some people enjoy music some don’t - it’s a personal preference. I really don’t get the pre-occupation with thinking your personal opinions are shared by everyone!

Just found your channel and I really enjoy your format. It is very informative as well as entertaining. I am looking forward to seeing your video on the Phenom. That is my dream ride! Keep up the good work!
I did the type rating recently, but unfortunately wasn't able to get any video. I will be taking a flight in it with a customer soon, so will make sure to get some good video, and post soon.
Hello have a nice day, great review, but as someone already mebtioned, music is not a good asset in this kind of videos because the engine or the chit chat with atm is enough entertainment.
Thanks for sharing, but I’m pretty sure most of us who watch this kind of content would rather hear you talking through the procedures and atc rather than the music. Cool aircraft though. I’ve flown the meridian and really enjoyed it.
Rich. I am 6’2” with short legs and a long torso and have found it very difficult to get in and out of this airplane. Is there a trick to entry and exit in this airplane/ I have also been surprised how small the cabin is once I fight my way in to the pilots seat.
One of the real downsides to this airplane based on my experience. A lot depends on your build but just not an easy airplane to get in to - wish I had a trick to pass along, but I don’t. Thanks for the message!
Piper switched from Continental to Lycoming and I believe they changed the name to Malibu Mirage when they did that. I think in the last few years they’ve dropped the Malibu name all together and just call it the Mirage. Really no differences in the airframes - just engines and avionics.
The Phenom 300 is a highly rated light jet. It has range, speed, and great numbers in the fuel consumption category. The Gulfstream G280, is a step up from the Phenom 300. I would like to see that in a future review.
It is a squeeze - one negative about the Malibu for sure. I did have a customer who was 6’ 4” who was very happy with it and he had it for 3 years. Thanks for watching.
I love the airplane and I think you doing great job talking about it, one think that I always liked to know when companies representing an airplane for sale they never tell us the price I think it’s important to know so we can compare prices with others dealers or just in general knowledge, thanks P.S I like your videos
Enjoy Your Videos Rich! Learning a lot about different aircraft. Please do a video on some of the latest Avionics and go through the steps of setting up for NAVCOM and standby. We upgraded Piper Lance to a Garmin Stack and a instruction CD Came with the system. I have friends with different aircraft and I want to know the latest and because of health I’m grounded. However, I want to maintain and improve skill levels just in case an emergency arises in which I have to take charge. I love flying and want to be able to land the Plane in case an emergency comes up..... I trained in the Military so learned Fixed wing and Rotary wing.. I was Blessed with outstanding Military and Civilian CFIs. Thank You so much!
I have to agree with most, Music is not necessary when you have a nice Lycoming running up front. One tip: And take this only as some help from a pilot who flies global operation, for assigned heading always say 'heading 120 etc' not just 120, as it can easily mistaken for speed or even FL.
ak My thoughts exactly as he was giving the intro, I was also looking into the background and saw that beautiful all white aircraft with no engraving on it except the tail, and it looked “marvelous.” I read that you mentioned 0:03 on the video progress, but I’m referring towards a different viewing angle perhaps of the same aircraft which starts at 1:55 and ends at 3:45! I need to get me that damn license and get me a plane afterwards. Not in the same class of course, unless I write to Santa that I’ve been a really good good boy, and hope that he believes it!! But even then, I don’t think that even Santa got the budget for it...!!!
god i would lvv to fly in the mirage with U,i remember fueling them and just looking at there smooth lines and sasying to myself im going up in one of these dome dayor nite.
It’s tight for sure - one of the downsides to this airplane. Aircraft used for business are eligible for depreciation. There are aggressive depreciation schedules for aircraft as tax write off. Great tools for business as well. If you have other questions, you can e-mail me at rich@ocraviation.com.
Speed brakes, help you slow the airplane down. Landing gear, flaps have max speeds for operation so helpful to have speed brakes to get you below those speeds, especially when descending
@@FlyingwithRich Thank you! Interesting! I've heard of speed breaks before, but didn't know what they looked like. They are smaller than what I would have guessed.
I've seen a lot a later videos on this channel, which I like a lot. I visited this one because I'm a fan of the Piper Malibu/Mirage. I'm glad the later videos dropped the music. I think it (The music) might be nice for non-pilots but for the aviation enthusiast I think it disconnects the viewer from the flying experience. It becomes more a movie or music video. I loved the aircraft but couldn't get into the 'zone' of imagining myself being 'there', surprisingly, to me, the music creates a wall to that. Again, love the later videos on this channel, shame about this one, as the Malibu was my favourite aeroplane when it came out in the 80's and this kind of spoiled it for me.
Rich, how tall are you ? I know earlier PA 46's had less leg room unti 2004 when they removed the cabinet. You appear to have plenty of room at the knees.
Flying charter 135 all over the US, Caribbean, Mexico, Caribbean, etc… California gives the wildest clearances for jets….. turn this heading, intercept this VOR radial to this intersection then this heading for this radial to this fix then DCT a fix. I usually reply with “unable sit we’re in a jet not a C172. I don’t have time to do all that while flying at 250+ kias….”
How does someone like yourself acquire a career like this? Do you have past experience in the airlines or with a 135? This would literally be my dream job flying different aircraft and even being able to exercise some sales & marketing experience. Love the videos! Just got my ifr and cpl over at Torrance. Would love to know how I could possibly get in a position somewhere doing something similar. Being able to fly new and different aircraft seems like a blast.

"600 mile range is really good." I may disagree. Especially compared to a Continental powered PA-46. Mooney's can get 800-900 mile range. What they said re: music.
I don’t remember the exact statement I made, but round numbers - the airplane has a 600 NM range with north of 700lbs payload on a reduced fuel load. My experience is that most people don’t want to spend more than 3 hours in an airplane and that’s about 600NM in the Mirage. If you fill the tanks, you could get 1000 NM range. I think there is even a mod to get more fuel capacity. Thanks for watching!
I think you've done a better job of marketing this aircraft than piper has. I'm now in love with it.
Such a beautiful plane!!! Also a request: less music and more engine sound

700 seems like a light payload for a 1m aircraft with 3 hours is this a heavy empty weight ?
I think pretty typical for Mirage empty weight. I looked at the W&B on this airplane and it’s 1215 lbs useful load.
