My pops got me one in my early teens, I built it & raced it at the local track; got 3rd place using a modified motor lol. I may give this one a hard look
But it's not bouncing at the rear end everywhere! Awesome, a better joining set up for the front suspension would have been good, one that yields more shock length.
How about yellow with orange flames and Hornet graphic. A large graphic to fit on the front of body shell just in front of window. Plus I reckon keep the same design of front suspension arms but maybe raise the shock tower and give it more travel and somehow put a little more weight in the front to stop the bouncing. I'm still getting myself one , but I think this kind of too late and half assed because the front suspension just looks really cheap and nasty. Ok people have been doing their own modifications for years now and Tamiya has just copied them. I would have like a more sophisticated looking front suspension set up because those top shock mounts look really cheap with the folded aluminium bracket and that zinc plate nut holding it all together.
Interesting place to mount the motor? Seems like the last place you would want your motor is in the rear and exposed. I'm assuming this buggy will jump very tail heavy! Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to buy one, but I assume handling will be sacrificed. Not too excited about the weak-looking suspension arms, better stock up. The Hornet was my introduction into rc cars when I was 9 years old. That Hornet never broke and never ceased in proving hours and hours of rc fun. Thanks for that Tamiya.
In addition, all the parts are already hesitating, and this baby is sold for 170/180€ in France! when it should be at 120€ maximum. Personally, it lacks too much color for a favorite, an unfinished project, Tamiya wants more than profits today, with increasingly expensive models and low cost ESC / carbon motor sets. I am disappointed, I bought a Wild Willy 2, much more fun to assemble and accessible at 110€.
A very cheap update of the original... is this the best Tamiya factory could do to make the Evo version of the Hornet??? I've seen more sophisticated mods made by amateurs...I think I would feel robbed if I bought one of these...
Thank you tamiya ,now we need a updated grasshopper, lunchbox and clodbuster
Grasshopper is the Rising Fighter But it looks like a Lot of parts match this new hornet...
This is awesome is so many ways. I Would love to see a Frog suspension update next. Two of the most iconic cars from the 80’s.
Thank you Tamiya!
Absolutely
I love it!
Bring back the 80’s music
Just when I thought I was done buy cars... damn you Tamiya! Lol When and where...
Can't wait. But please, tamiya, give us the king cab/racer platforms back. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

So cool!! I still have the original 1984 Model still in the box. Can't wait to get my hands on this one and have them side by side !
I want!!!
Get rid of the annoying music and bring back the original announcer telling us all about the updated features!! Original Tamiya ads were the best.
Yeah!.. what you said...
Now we need the Nissan King Cab brought back!!
Hi, would the chassis take the holiday buggy body (re-release DT-02) are they similar wheel bases ?
Great work Tamiya! 🎉
Hope it has a reasonable price point, looks awesome!
😍😍😍

Great buggy!
Awesome
The plastic front shock towers are the worst part about the Hornet. They break constantly.
I believe you are going to sell a lot of these things. I hope you make enough.
When will this be available?
Can’t wait.
TA-02 REAR
Yes thank you Tamiya.
これは、DT02と変わらない。

That is great for dirt. Look at most 2wd buggies for off road.
EVO Subaru Bratt!!!
Video editor, please work on your sound editing.
So being an original Hornet owner I am going to say the difference in track width is off putting.
Grasshopper 2 please !
When release date
Is it gonna be a rtr or kit.
Looks great and will be more capable but I kinda like the way the original bounces about
Someone at Tamiya finally made a smart decision. I will take 2 please. How about a Evo Frog
Clod Buster EVO next please!
Clever way of extending the lifespan of this already-40-yr-old chassis by re-engineering tricks
👌👌👌
NEED.

So tempting. Hmmm on the one hand I want to be a disciplined investor 🤔🧐...oh $crew it 🤠. Let's make this happen!
