    On alloy wheels, tar remover is useful for removing the black residue left behind from previous balancing weights after tyre replacement.

    Is it essential to de-tar your vehichle before polishing with an orbital polisher??

      Yes.... Tar is solid (unless you dissolve it away), and if a piece gets stuck in your pad it could possibly scratch the car.... That said, I've known people just whip around with a finishing pad and a finishing polish/glaze just to quickly add some shine and protection

    I removed the black tar spots but they left tiny yellow stains where the black tar spots used to be. Any suggestions??

      That could be iron underneath. Try a fall out remover. If still not joy, try a little polishing in that area

    For a few days I have several barely visible tar points. But I will go on vacation for 3 weeks during which time I think other bitumen points will buildup.
    It is ok to wait 3-4 weeks and remove tar after returning from vacation or should I remove them immediately in order not to damage the paint?

      It won’t damage the paint so no issue waiting until after. Be mindful when removing though, allow the product time to soften and dissolve the tar and don’t over scrub at it. That’s when damage may occur.
      Just repeat as necessary if there’s stubborn areas.

      Really? None? Keep apply a tar remover, it may take some dissolving... Little trick, put a piece of toilet paper over the spot and spray tar remover to make it stick over the lump.

    i have some tar remover from angelwax, i would like, to use it on a nissan qashqai, my question is do you think it will leave spots or marks on the plastic trim that the qashqai has along the doors? or should i avoid let it run down to the trims?

    • @TheDetailingSpace
      @TheDetailingSpace  4 года назад +1

      I'd just be mindful. You should be ok, just don't let it dry as it may stain. If in doubt, spray onto a microfiber and then wipe over the tar spots and rinse immediately

      Detailing World thanks will play it safe and spray on microfibre, will take longer but at least i won’t regret afterwords.

    After the wiping by microfiber did you wash the car to get tar remover off the car paint?

      Give it a good rinse down after. You don't need to wash it again after, I guess you can if you wish, but a thorough rinse is enough.

    What could I remove tar with from a spray on PPF?

    • @last_details

      Tar remover is fine to use in just the same way. Just make sure to rinse away after with a strong jet of water and job done.
