- Expired temp tags are a common site on St. Louis area roads. Now, a St. Louis County councilmember is calling on police to step up enforcement.

I feel like the sucker when I go pay taxes.
I wouldn't care about the temp tag if it wasn't for the fact that if they can't afford the registration then they can't afford the insurance or to properly maintain their car. The tax seems like a minor thing... not like they are going to spend that tax money on anything useful anyway. Heck they can't even bother to use that tax money to enforce the temporary tags.
Simple solution just give people their plates after passing a inspection and proof of insurance. Not like MoDot is fixing the roads I've had to replace 2 factory wheels hitting potholes on 70 and 44. Instead of making getting plates a issue let's do something about the real crimes that's turning people away from the city. Let's do something about getting all of these little 2 block municipalities incorporated into county police so they can focus on their real job instead of adult hallway monitors looking for nothing burgers and non-issues. I love my city but it's ran sooooooooo @ss backwards. We're going to crack down on temps but meanwhile you can go to the gas station and it looks like a NRA meeting around the pumps. We're worried about plates when people are getting carjacked, which if you gave them the plate you wouldn't be trying to track a temp tag 🤦🏿♂️
Tow them cars without insurance
It's about money, NOT safety!
How is it about money when most of these people don’t pay their fair share nor do they carry insurance most of the time. Since most insurance companies know when you don’t pay.
Exactly, if they were really concerned they wouod crack down more on reckless drivers than on poor people who can't afford to pay taxes
@@Dee-ye2dk this whole system Missouri has where you have go to a government agency to pay a separate tax on your vehicle is insane! Being from Michigan all taxes where included with the purchase of the vehicle, you just had to go get it registered and it didn't cost you your first born!
Yeah, you're not allowed to drive around for free in this country. Nothing for free in America. You have to pay for everything as long as you pay for something. It's okay to do what you want.

Get rid of Personal property tax

They should do the same thing they do in St. Charles. The police tear your tags off if they see them and give them a BIG TICKET!

Well if everyone just Didn’t pay for anything government related, except maybe a one time a year fee towards road maintenance and infrastructure, then we as Americans would see many beneficial results that benefits us and not the thieving politicians
I work at car dealership and you always see st Louis folks buying the latest model vehicle they can get loan for, even if it's19%, then they don't have tax money, same people running red lights and stop signs,
