As someone who knows absolutely nothing about art, this opened my eyes to new levels. I kind of want her to paint me - she's incredibly talented and I'm so glad you guys are giving her the recognition she deserves.
In an ideal world, an artist would say, "no, I can't paint you, you're much too beautiful." And then they would paint people who are different, and through the action of turning them into art, their differences would become realized as beautiful. I like this artist because she said she paints people who are different. I am different, I have moles, peach fuzz, eyelashes that won't curl, and hair on the top of my head that sticks straight out. Art is made for the majority of people who are different, so something not seen as beautiful at a first glance can be realized. Thank you to all the artists out there. Keep showing the world what matters.
Wow, this is very powerful. When she says "i don't want to be famous, what i want to be respected", I really understands her. This is the kind of videos that makes me wanna climb montains. Thank you very much.
Jack - this series is incredible. As we speak, I am currently producing my own short documentary film purely based off the inspiration this series has given me. And, much like The Artist herself, this is what I want to do. No amount of money could replace me seeking to tell stories. Thank you, for sharing these films. Hopefully my one isn't far off. Keep being fucking awesome.
Honestly, I love these videos. It enables you to show your passion for filmmaking and your talent! It puts RUclips in a very positive light! People like you guys and Louis need more credit!
This comment! Couldn't agree more! We joined youtube hoping to meet & entertain people whilst making memories and having fun. RUclips is an amazing place :D
Everyone saying they miss the old jacksgap videos .. TBH I love these ones better .. these video with heart warming stories are amazing .. Thanks Gacksgap for putting the effort into making this series ! It really shows how great guys you actually are
yes, agreed. these videos stand out. i mean id love to see some 'old' videos every now and then, like twin mail or something but this is their creative outlet and its great that they actually want to create such beautiful things as this series etc
I agree with both of you!! Both Jck and Finn have found what feels right to them to make videos about which I think is more important than being just like all the other bloggers out there (who I still respect, but it does get very same-y)
honestly, i'm loving these type of videos where the videos are more artsy, creative and educates people more about what actual people are doing and what is going on in the world.
Hello! We're really excited to be sharing the third and final Following Heart episode about an artist called Leslie Watts. If you're interested in how we made it you can read a blog post on our journal. Link below. jacksgap.com/making-following-heart-leslie-watts/
The evolution of Jack Harries as a filmmaker and storyteller is something that blows my mind with every single video. I really enjoy his new more serious material and I hope that people are able to appreciate it as well. I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years time he directed a full length movie.
After many years I still come back from time to time to rewatch because of the storytelling. There’s something about Leslie that’s so grounding, relatable, and soul striking. This video always helps feel all those things again thanks to the production and execution style.
When jack and Finn started making these kinds of videos I didn’t watch them. I missed their old ‘fun videos’. Now that I’m a bit older I see myself coming back to these all the time and i can really appreciate how beautiful and well thought out these are. It’s amazing
I've QUIT my job of to live a dream of travelling round the world alone, and I set off SOON. So excited, will be documenting my experiences on RUclips. I spent 1700$ on A new camera (Samsung NX1) also being only 21 years old im a young traveler and im just a regular guy doing what many wants to do but don't . everyone can make it happen!
Josh Yozura Maybe its not necessarily we don't want to but because we have so many things limiting ourselves from being able to do what your doing. Such as money, knowledge etc.
Jack, Finn, I don't know anyone like you. Jack, I just wanna tell you, follow your dreams, all those imaginative and incredible ideas are in your head, you just have to make it real, and well, we all know you can do whatever you want, because you are just great, there aren't enough words for describe what your videos make us feel, but I will try to explain, it's like I can recover the faith in the humanity when I realize that exist people like you. Good luck in all your travels, remember: you are a support for us,and we love you
This woman's life - everything about her - is so compelling. You both did an amazing job telling her story. Going into someone else's space and filming and interviewing them and still having it come across really naturally is so hard to do and it was done brilliantly here. Really beautiful video.
I've said it for every video of the series but I'll reiterate: the aesthetic is absolutely stunning! Great series! I cannot wait to see what you have in store for us! Keep up the amazing work!
I don't understand why this video isn't getting as many views as it should, on a channel with over 3 million subscribers. It is a shame. I guess people only want to see regurgitated crap instead of art.
JacksGap inspires me to create higher level content, something that breaks free from the norm. This series is very inspiring and holds a strong message that will last forever. I can't wait to see your upcoming videos :)
Don't listen to any of the negative comments that want your old style videos back. These videos, especially this series, are unbelievably educating and heart felt with a meaning. Excellent job bringing these videos to light and keep up the outstanding work!!!
I really appreciate that each of the Following Heart documentaries focuses on women. With this one I especially felt that we got a sense of a day in the life of Leslie and what she's all about, which made it that much more special.
Its difficult to describe how impressed I am with this film. The quality of your content has grown immensely, and your ability to tell a good story is nothing short of spectacular. I cannot wait for you short films with Marriot to be produced and released. Best of luck to you boys.
I love this. What a wonderful lady, and her artwork is so impressive. I love how this was captured, and how you incorporated skype into her story. I hope one day I am able to do something with as much as love as she has for painting. I'm sad this series is coming to an end, but you create such inspiring content, i'm excited to see what's next :)
I don't care what anyone sais, but to me these three documentaries were so beautiful to watch! As simple as that: they're beautiful; and the three ladies in them are as well. Thank you very much, Jack and Finn, for making "Following Heart" and for sharing it with us. A wonderful addition to what's becoming an ever more diverse collection of videos on your channel. I'll definitely keep returning here to find out what more you have in store for us. All the best to you and Finn!
Your channel has grown so much it's unbelievable. You have both matured as people, and instead of following tags and typical youtube videos, you create your own unique content which makes you stand out so much from other people. It's a shame some people can't look beyond only wanting to stare at pretty people making the same old tags. Your videos inspire me so much, especially as I am a creative person, and the whole point of youtube is creating and sharing content, and you have done it perfectly.
Speaking as someone who is currently struggling with trying to figure out if being an artist is right for me but also what kind of artist I am striving to become, I found this video to be just the kind of thing I needed to help me get out of this hole I am in. It's always inspiring to actually see another artist and hear their story. This was refreshing and I am really really appreciative of this.
Interesting. I never expected her to use Skype in that way. At first I would assume it would be for art lessons or contacting other artists to collaborate, but I didn't see using it to get extra details for a portrait. That's really clever and surprising. And I found this Following Heart video different from the others. It's less catchy but, feels more personal and secluded. I really like that there are drastic differences in the 3 individuals lifestyles for the Following Heart series. Very well chosen, and made Jacksgap. I believe you are quite the artists yourselves, with the way you filmed, edited and captured a glimpse of these artists and activists lives. Successful project guys. Can't wait to see what's next.
The quality and content of all your videos just blows my mind. There are times while watching your videos I forget I'm watching this on RUclips and I think I'm in a movie theatre. Keep doing what you're doing
This was one of those videos where I didn't want it to end, it seemed so short and not once did I look at how long it had been going. You, Jack and Finn are amazing! Kudos to you guys!
I am primary school teacher and decided I wanted to teach my 6 and 7 year olds to draw portraits. I got to show them this wonderful video which really sparked their interest in portrait drawing.
There are people saying things like "rest in piece to the old Jacksgap" I myself, and many others do believe that the transition this channel has been through has greatly improved! The professionalism and quality of Jack and Finn's films are very good. All of the 13 year old fan girls are upset with this change because it isn't in the same category as other RUclipsrs with videos like challenges etc. and find it "boring" they are too young to appreciate content like this.
There's something I absolutely love about this video. I guess it's the fact that the video is presenting the possibilty to live a quiet life following your dreams, not needing to fulfill society's expectations. This lady looks so serene, not in a fake unrealistically "bubbly" way, she's very concrete. She needs to worry about her immediate future, but at the same time she's not focusing on the future, but on the present. I also appreciate that she's not full of herself, as many artists are, she's just herself. As a young man growing up, this is a very refreshing exampe of a possible life choice.
The stories in this series were told so well. So much creativity went into producing these. Great to see this features a Canadian as well. Canada represent! :D
Beautiful work Jack and Finn! You have done an amazing job with this series and I think as a filmmaker its your best work yet! You should be extremely proud of this content you have created!
Hands down!! What a great video! 5:35-6:47 She's a real inspiration to everyone and that smile proves that she really loves what she's doing..Her students learn from her while me I learn from her students, with their age they sort of tell me that it's never too late to start what you're passionate about and being old is not an excuse to try new things.
This is by far my favorite JacksGap video that has ever been created. The way that they were able to capture her passion and personality through the camera is fascinating
OH my god this was absolutely brilliant Jack, I wish more people had the maturity to understand your new work and not get mad at you or hate on you just because you stopped the idiotic and mundane videos that the rest of RUclips makes, challenges and tag videos. I respect and love your channel and videos so much. I love watching it. Keep up the great work!
This is really cooooool! First off, what an amazing project. I've never heard of the egg tempura (tempura? eh? Is that what its called?) technique. Going to look into it more. I also love her boots. It's really neat that she teaches out of her home, I never thought to do that. Glad I stumbled upon this!
As an artist who chose a different path, I think this is beautiful. This is something that dirrectly describes the feeling of creating something. It's everything bashed into one the history, the why and the how it makes a happy life. It is actually worth it, it's enough. You have a gift in telling stories, don't stop.
It's beautiful to peek into these women's lives and see how they live out their passions. It makes me have hope in myself that I can do what they're doing one day.
I honestly thought for ages you were "just" a vlogger but these videos are incredible. You and your Brother have real talent for story telling through video! :)
This actually made me tear up just listening to her speak about how passionate she is about painting. My heart started to race and I caught myself with a cheesy grin on my face. Nothing makes me happier than others so in love and passionate with what they're doing. "All the money in the world could not possibly replace that feeling of making something from nothing and thinking 'wow, that looks pretty good.'"
I love all of your videos from the bottom of my heart because all of them are touching, have a message. Following Heart series don't make any difference. When i watch them chills are passing through my body and my eyes are getting wet just because this short documentaries are so beautiful. You are making art and the world a better place. Keep doing what you do because you are doing a great job.
Exactly, I don't like these videos, they're boring to me but at the same time I don't wanna unsubscribe because I'll miss their beautiful faces :( oh well time to stop watching JacksGap :(
I loooove these type of videos. This is talent, it's art! Don't get me wrong, I also liked the old Jacksgap videos but their new content is so much better. They are actually making a difference in the RUclips community and trying to help people and the world by thinking outside the box. They aren't producing the similar content like other youtubers. So much effort is put into these videos. Every single detail from the way it's been filmed to the way it's been edited. If you want to stop watching their videos, then go ahead and unsubscribe... more Jacksgap for me and everyone else who appreciates their talent x
Sian Tame so you like them just because they're handsome? Cause that's what it looks like. Their "New" videos may take less views but at least you can see who their real fans are.. I love they old Videos, the challenges and the twin mails, the music mondays and the broadcasts but you can't say that taking part in charities is boring. It's just...rude.
My dearest Jack and Finn, Please do continue to make videos similar to this. As a long time subscriber, watching you both evolve as human beings is so gratifying to see. You're truly creative and entertaining. One of the best pleasures in life is watching someone live out what they love to do. I feel like you both live through these videos and put so much work into creating them.
It kind of disgusts me seeing disappointed 12 year olds who are here because they thought this would be a tag video or challenge video. Jack and Finn are doing amazingly well in the professional industry and I couldn't be prouder. I, myself am an aspiring film maker like Jack and Finn are so if you have 0 appreciation or don't know how to appreciate well done films like these, you should really unsubscribe and never come back
I applaud you for consistently taking advantage of your platform as a popular RUclipsr. It is inspiring to see how proactive you genuinely are. I appreciate that you still post creative, uplifting, and motivating content. Viewing this film is far more beneficial than wasting my time watching countless trivial "tag" and "challenge" videos. Keep up the incredible work!
There's just something about the Following Heart series. The way the women talked about their passions really hit a strung in me. There was fire in their eyes. Their tones were golden. I can't help but feel emotional when i see them talk because they are so passionate and you could really see the excitement in their eyes and the dedication. Years of hardship and wisdom cured their golden hearts, with years of passion burning in them, but at the same time, keeping the wonder of a child in them as they worked. Beautiful.
I rarely put some effort on commenting videos but here I can find something that makes me want to speak and what is more it makes me want to listen. In todays consumerist world you bring something extraordinary and interesting. This makes me stop whatever I am doing at the moment and focus on every detail and that is just impressive. While I was watching your video I felt amazed and I kept paying atention until the very end of it. So thank you. Thank you for doing great things like this one and being an inspiration.
Adore this. Jack you really are too good for 80% of your community that follow you. Dumb fan girls that are here for your looks should be told where to go.
The way she tells her part of being an artist is so amazing. You could really see her professionalism in art, her patience in her works and the true love in her job by her voice. I love this last episode. Great Job! =)))
I always was into those old videos of jacksgap but now i've realized that the change that they've brought in themselves and their videos is way better than their old ones.
The Following Heart series is amazing. These documentaries really are so inspirational and watching these videos just warms my heart. The JacksGap Team does an amazing job at sharing these people's stories. They provide so much insight into the world and some of the most astonishing people that are making a change in it. Thank you for this.
The way they shoot their videos inspires me. you really see, feel that they put a lot of work and effort into every single scene. I absolutely love and admire Jacksgap
Jacksgap is doing the kind of videos that are so heartwarming and beautiful to watch and they just make my heart and face smile ugh I love this new approach to RUclips he's taking
I've been watching jacksgap videos for a long time and although I do miss his old videos, his new ones are fantastic and much more meaningful! Don't ever stop Jack, you're using your fame wisely and we're so proud of you.
As someone who knows absolutely nothing about art, this opened my eyes to new levels. I kind of want her to paint me - she's incredibly talented and I'm so glad you guys are giving her the recognition she deserves.
Agreed.

Art is made for the majority of people who are different, so something not seen as beautiful at a first glance can be realized. Thank you to all the artists out there. Keep showing the world what matters.
Agreed. Beauty, like art, should be appreciated in a deeper, meaningful level. That's the reason it matters.
You're welcome Kathleen
I would be the perfect model, I'm ugly as fuck.
WhatTechShow You're not ugly, but same. I would be perfect.
Your comment was really wise and you made my day, i totally agree xx
Wow, this is very powerful. When she says "i don't want to be famous, what i want to be respected", I really understands her. This is the kind of videos that makes me wanna climb montains. Thank you very much.
She's my aunt!! this is amazing! :D
omg. tell her she's an amazing artist and she needs world recognition...NOW. amazing. i love painters. :)
Tell her she's amazing, so inspirational. Loves from Colombia!
tell her she is super duper incredibly amazing
I can't believe the amount of people that are just buying this, is there any proof? Of course there isn't.
Why would I lie about it?
I love this so much. Your creativity never fails to amaze me.
i found u again
aaayy!!! please say hey to lil for me, she is literally the most iconic grandma of our time hahaha :) xx
You're a cracking filmmaker, mate!
Oh cheerio mate!
Repping Australia!
Mate!
Your videos are getting better and better, such an inspiration
Totally agree!
:)
Honestly, I love these videos. It enables you to show your passion for filmmaking and your talent! It puts RUclips in a very positive light! People like you guys and Louis need more credit!

Hello!
We're really excited to be sharing the third and final Following Heart episode about an artist called Leslie Watts. If you're interested in how we made it you can read a blog post on our journal. Link below.

Your videos are beautiful
this was so interesting
she's an amazing artist
That's what I was thinking she is so good and an inspiring person.
Yes
There's something about Leslie that is so likable. May be it is how Jack portrayed her so authentically. Well done.
Raymond Nguyen I liked that she wants to be respected rather than famous
The evolution of Jack Harries as a filmmaker and storyteller is something that blows my mind with every single video. I really enjoy his new more serious material and I hope that people are able to appreciate it as well. I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years time he directed a full length movie.

"I don't wish to be famous, I want to be respected." Greatest thing I've ever heard and I completely agree
Everything about this video is beautiful :)
You're everywhere. :P
Lawstidentity you should check out her videos!
I'm already her subscriber
Agreed!
Does she have a youtube channel?
her work is simply amazing
sWooZie only 15 likes for swoozie it seems your're not famous on this part of youtube haha jk ily.
The distance you have come since this channel began is inspiring in millions of ways. Well done, Jack + Finn.
SERIOUSLY
I watch this video every time I need motivation to continue a painting. It has a beauty and sensibility that kind of feels like love, idk
When jack and Finn started making these kinds of videos I didn’t watch them. I missed their old ‘fun videos’. Now that I’m a bit older I see myself coming back to these all the time and i can really appreciate how beautiful and well thought out these are. It’s amazing

Josh Yozura Maybe its not necessarily we don't want to but because we have so many things limiting ourselves from being able to do what your doing. Such as money, knowledge etc.
Ping Lee exactly , I had to quit my job just to do this so its deff different for everyone!
How do you afford to do it financially???
Good job guys! Looks good x
Jack, Finn, I don't know anyone like you. Steven Tyler I know I shouldn't be, but it kind of makes me a little bit sad.
thesheepthatwentmooo I watch your videos
Yeah, exactly what I thought.. It is a shame. This kind of stuff should be more appreciated.
thesheepthatwentmooo you got good vids

A great finish to the series! Looking forward to the next big thing!
Leslie is a one of a kind artist and she truly has pure intentions. Thank you for sharing another creative and inspiring video as always!

Love the addition of Dexter Britain's song Hands Through the Grass at the end.
I wondering about the music used in this :D
4Finnessa do you know the song on the beggining, its piano too :D

As an artist who chose a different path, I think this is beautiful. This is something that dirrectly describes the feeling of creating something. It's everything bashed into one the history, the why and the how it makes a happy life. It is actually worth it, it's enough. You have a gift in telling stories, don't stop.
It's beautiful to peek into these women's lives and see how they live out their passions. It makes me have hope in myself that I can do what they're doing one day.
beautiful.
I honestly thought for ages you were "just" a vlogger but these videos are incredible. You and your Brother have real talent for story telling through video! :)
I always adore your videos. You guys have such an amazing perspective and story to share in each one :)
All these episodes from #followingheart are incredible. They make me cry.
OMG NEW VIDEO YEAHHHH
Marspet haha ist ja lustig 😂😂
wtf marspet :D
What a fantastic film to end the #FollowingHeart series on. Cheers, buds!
I want to see this!
This inspires me so much
This is quite possibly one of the best youtube series I ever know of. Beautifully done, and just so… full of feels.
Wow! She makes paintings from egg yolk?! Never heard of that! Are there behind the scenes or anything showing more about the yolk process...?
Beautiful video :)
It's called tempera painting mostly used in the early renaissance it should be everywhere on youtube if you search tempera painting
There's also people who make paintings from duck shell.
Video start game strong.
love your videos xx
R.I.P to the JacksGap videos that people actually liked..
? You clearly don't know content and jacks fans
Exactly, I don't like these videos, they're boring to me but at the same time I don't wanna unsubscribe because I'll miss their beautiful faces :( oh well time to stop watching JacksGap :(
Sorry for your loss, but you got to move on.
This one was seriously incredible. The shots, the way you told the story, the music. Everything was amazing.
My dearest Jack and Finn,
Please do continue to make videos similar to this.
I, myself am an aspiring film maker like Jack and Finn are so if you have 0 appreciation or don't know how to appreciate well done films like these, you should really unsubscribe and never come back
THIS LADY IS MY INSPIRATION OMGGG
my name is Leslie as well and I'm an artist too!
Beautiful.
Cute video but I feel like Skype made too much of a short appearance....
SayMyName
I think she was meaning the use of skype. Compared to the other two stories it plays a much small part in this story
Lexie Reuben Oh, I guess if the series are coming to an end there's less reason for them to bring attention to Skype?
His accent gives me heart attack every freaking time
hope you hit 50k soon lukey! :D
LUKE!!!
The music in this video is beautiful! If someone knows the artist or the name of the piece please let me know
same! shazam doesn't really help me.....
Those paintings are absolutely beautiful. The contours, the shades and tints, the use of color.. Just amazing.
so pretty! I just wish it kept going and going lol
"I don't like to be famous, what I really like is to be respected " I think people like Kim kardashian should be told about this
I'm watching this instead of the Super Bowl.
I think this is the best and most inspirational video Jacksgap has ever made! Congratulations!
This is my favourite in this series! Her profession and personality were portrayed so well.
Does anybody knows the piano song on the end?
the comment below yours said it's Dexter Britain's song "Hands Through the Grass" :) x
Yovani Anindya Thanks a lot!
Roos van Hummel not a problem! x
Adore this. Jack you really are too good for 80% of your community that follow you. Dumb fan girls that are here for your looks should be told where to go.
The piano track?
The way she tells her part of being an artist is so amazing. You could really see her professionalism in art, her patience in her works and the true love in her job by her voice. I love this last episode. Great Job! =)))
I always was into those old videos of jacksgap but now i've realized that the change that they've brought in themselves and their videos is way better than their old ones.
Did anyone else wet themselves when she said shes from Stratford Ontario bc Justin Bieber or
thank god i wasn't alone lmaooo
I'm from Toronto that's pretty close right?
I'm glad I didn't have my panties on
The Following Heart series is amazing.
