- Recently we were sent on an assignment to travel to Tanzania and meet an inspiring woman called Ashley Washburn who is using Skype to improve the educational experience of young children. We had an amazing time in Tanzania and would like to extend a huge thanks to Ashley and her family for letting us stay with them. Here's the film we made!
Thanks to Skype for facilitating the trip: www.skype.com

incredible. well done guys. really well done
+CaseyNeistat Hi Casey! I know I'm just an ordinary human being and you won't reply but if you feel deeply for wildlife, please google Assam's one-horned rhinos. Assam (India) is the only state on the globe to house one-horned rhinos which are being poached in large numbers everyday. Please help us to create awareness about it... We're helpless
+CaseyNeistat Interesting... Didn't you completely tear apart jacks work? You know, when you completely misused your power and tore apart someone who was inspired and idolised you? You disgust me sir. Its funny i use to admire your talent. But now, all i see is an arsehole who misused his power.
+TheNonMakeupGuru how?
Abhinav Wadhwa He completely tore apart Jack online for "copying his work" when in reality casey just got threatened and didn't like that jack was starting to do much better than him.
+TheNonMakeupGuru When was this? Was it a video he made or interview he did that he said that and he mentioned Jacksgap by name? Cause if he he did that's something I'd like to see/read lol :O
every time I watch a JacksGap video I want to travel the world and change things!! it sometimes makes me sad that I can't just go out and do that.
+sophie bh I do! I've traveled a lot and I plan on doing more! but unfortunately I can't always go when I want because I need to save money and I have responsibilities to deal with.
+sophie bh aww thanks so much! same to you :)
yes you can! help in your community, the old people, the homeless people, etc what seems impossible is possible
+Luisana Rodriguez thanks Luisana that's some great advice ^_^ I volunteered a lot when I was in uni and I should find some new places now!
+KAT HAWK same

+Ellie McKnight thank you!!!!
+Erin Louise Harrison soon true omg
I live in Kenya and every time JacksGap does things like this in East Africa, raising awareness and helping the poor it makes my heart melts.
*melt
+Roxanna Krause im tanzanian :)
++JacksGap fake

Yess Honestly Id much rather these original well thought deep and meaningful videos over weekly chubby bunny challenges ect :)
+GeorgeMasonTV worth the wait
+GeorgeMasonTV just made a short film similar to this. It would mean so much if you could check it out :) jacksgap has such inspirational content.
jacksgap is now a documentary channel
Is that a bad thing?
And I Love it :)
I love it
+Nicky & Annie I miss the vlogs!!
+Nicky & Annie It is not a bad thing. We just miss the vlogs.
Jack, you probably won't see this but wondering if you have watched the film cowspiracy? It's so interesting and very humbling. If anyone sees this please go and watch this on Netflix
+Milly Parker I have indeed, Its fantastic! Its the reason i'm Vegan. More people need to see it!!
+JacksGap I definitely need to watch this movie now, sounds really interesting
+JacksGap why did it make you a vegan I've go to watch this now
+Milly Parker It's so sad! That is EXACTLY why I am vegetarian!!! (Still trying to go vegan, tho!)
+Milly Parker can anyone like my comment so i can see this again, please.

+Kate Tran people goals am i right?
+Carlos Cruz they can't be not-perfect-at-everything-they-do lol
+Carlos Cruz ye upload regularly
+Kate Tran thaths what i thought hahahah swearrrrrrr
+Kate Tran Yes, of course. Sadly,
let me complaint on Ukrainian-Russian writer - Michail Bulgakov, which exaggerated,
made brutal mistakes, Michail Bulgakov introduced anger, confrontation
between human beings without sorry and by rising and interleaving of inaccurate brutal and cruel
thoughts in his "best" stories. So the such artists and developers as
Michail Bulgakov have to go and alter and probably forgotten. Kind Regards.
Even though I do miss your old videos, these new ones you do feel so much more real and unique. Keep up the good content x
love u xx
+George Braithwaite These new vids are awesome!
honestly i prefer if jack and finn post once a year with a meaningful video as opposed to posting pointless videos 2 times a week that don't educate or better anybody
so much respect
JacksGap inspires me immensely with what they have accomplished and the quality of what they make has improved so so much from what they made just a year ago! I too have a channel and I make movies with a deep message, I hope you guys can check it out and hopefully enjoy them! Tell me what you think!
+Giovanni Montalvo I love your movies Gio, especially the new one about the girl's weight loss story!! Keep on making them!
+Giovanni Montalvo OMG YOUR IPHONE MOVIE IS SO FREAKING COOL!!! Please check him out everyone, you deserve more views!!
+Giovanni Montalvo Hey Man. I checked out your videos. Loved the tune into life one. I subscribed!! I like to make similar "deep message" videos. Would love you to watch one or two of mine.
+Giovanni Montalvo Great comment and we echo your feelings
+Giovanni Montalvo Yes, of course. Sadly,
let me complaint on Ukrainian-Russian writer - Michail Bulgakov, which exaggerated,
made brutal mistakes, Michail Bulgakov introduced anger, confrontation
between human beings without sorry and by rising and interleaving of inaccurate brutal and cruel
thoughts in his stories. So that such artists and developers like
Michail Bulgakov have to go and alter and probably forgotten. Kind Regards.
*I like how Jack makes use of his channel. they are not just videos that he creates; but the concept and message behind these videos are incredible and inspiring*
I also make short films, and i always wanted to do such great things. I hope one day i'll get the opportunity to do so :)
+NarvFilms yea, he is amazing :) i like your short films
+NarvFilms Don't try to be subtle when you advertise, it doesn't work.
How can a 7 minute RUclips video be so inspirational
And the editing just makes it even better !!!
idk bro
+Keyon Elkins It's all about the STORY that you are trying to tell. All the high quality gear and perfected editing just makes it better.
"They are doing all the hard works, I'm just supporting them"
the film is so inspiring and the woman is so humble.
Being a teacher is really my dream, but my mom does not want it. She said that there is no money in teaching, so she told me to take a business course. And so I did. But, then I realise that, teaching is what makes me happy. So I told her that I will pursue my plan of being a teacher after I graduate college.
The wait for a new JacksGap video is finally over, It has been too long!
True
+Chucky Yeah
But well worth the wait! Amazing video
+Chucky and it really worth de wait!
+Chucky tell me about it
I'm so impressed by this women! I hope that all viewers keep in mind that "all people deserve education who want to and that we're couldn't decide who we are"!
Jack I cannot explain how incredible your videos are! They have improved so so much and although I loved your old vlogs these are something else! You're inspirational and encourage me to keep working hard to achieve my dream to be a RUclipsr! I know that may sound silly to many people... But that's okay, it drives me! Thanks a lot Jack, I'm glad you're enjoying your life!
*Much love from England
+PhanForeverxox I will keep trying! Aww that's awesome :')
+PhanForeverxox Love your name, congrats on 3 milli xD
couldn't agree more
+FarFromFilm this is fckin exactly what I wanted to say too
WHO ELSE THINKS HE SHOULD UPLOAD WEEKLY???
+thiskidneedsmedicine I'd love a weekly video, but at the moment for the Jacksgap team, it's clearly Quality over Quantity.. I don't have a problem with that! :) I can wait! :)
I love your videos ❤️🎉✌🏻
That would be amazing but content as amazing as this takes time to create and I'd much rather wait for this than have them upload rubbish just to upload weekly.
+thiskidneedsmedicine ikr!!!!!!!!!!!1
JacksGap - best content on the entire RUclips in my opinion! :)
+umartin Totally agree with you
+umartin I love for example Ben Brown content, but JacksGap is so unique, btw you also got some good ideas, all of you guys should definitely check him out!!!
None can ever disagree. x)
100% Agreed
+Ben Brown Vlog Lover!!! Thank you for kind words :) If anyone from this amazing community got some free time, feel free to check out my channel, which is very much inspired by JacksGap
I love how these boys aren't hungry for stardom unlike most RUclipsrs.
They just do their thing behind the camera most of the time.
And with that they bring so much awareness on things that matter.
I wish JacksGap all the success in the future.
AMAZING YOUNG MEN.
LOVE that this series is back, boys. The concept of this series helped me understand the filmmaking content for online audiences, and so I made my own short documentary film earlier this year on my channel. It's been getting great feedback. I'm in post-production for my next one... and I love it. You can tell ANYONE's story, and that's what I think is awesome.
Also, Josh is hot. Yass.
Love how you tell such amazing stories in the most amazing way. So easy to watch.
+SimiAllsmiles right? they are amazing...
+SimiAllsmiles Yes, of course. Sadly,
let me complaint on Ukrainian-Russian writer - Michail Bulgakov, which exaggerated,
made brutal mistakes, Michail Bulgakov introduced anger, confrontation
between human beings without sorry and by rising and interleaving of inaccurate brutal and cruel
thoughts in his stories. So that such artists and developers like
Michail Bulgakov have to go and alter and probably forgotten. Kind Regards.
Following heart always seems to touch my heart. I do really miss these videos they have such a personal level that is missed in the mainstream media, keep going strong guys and keep creating, if all your stuff is at this level I don't mind waiting :) x
fancy seeing you here, love your videos
+RowansVlogathon Hey Rowan haha :)
As a teacher, this brought me to tears. Seeing your students' smiling faces makes all the trials worth it.
One of the most beautiful concepts. Round of applause. This was incredible.
Had Ashley Washburn speak at my school today and the work that she's doing is so amazing and you can see just how much she really cares for these kids and how hard she's worked to deal with the corruption and really make a difference. It's beautiful ❤️
Finally an upload! It was a good one though!
Love it!
This video made me cry,I want to do things like these ,these videos you guys do are so inspirational!!!!!
You guys are such an inspiration
I literally just cried of joy that someone in the world is making a difference and she probably gave up her lifestyle to go out and help. To be selfless is to be brave and powerful.
I adored this. Thank you for creating such rad content!
Keep doing what you're doing you inspiration humans you ;)
i couldn't agree more..
agreed
I love your channel!!
I just got back from Tanzania this morning after 2 weeks of helping a primary school, its such a wonderful place and to see the children so happy with so little is so humbling. I'm going back in a few years and i can't wait.
That's why I love this channel so much! You not only get great camera work and excellent editing skills while watching this, but also and more importantly you get stories. Stories about different people with different backgrounds and life goals and they all are so touching! Plus the companys are getting a bit of promo which is extremely important for them. 😊
Oh and I forgot the cherry on top: Finn and Jack 😍
totally agreed they're so inspiring
I love her perspective! I so agree, we don't choose the circumstances we're born in but every day after is a choice to stay or move forward.
+Natasha Darling very well said!
You need a tv Chanel
Im pretty sure Chanel has a tv m8 theyre one of the biggest fashion brands in the world ;)
+Matthew White this made me laugh lol
Matthew White i'll spell it right next time m8
+Rahel G. Productions But you capitalized the c
How Ashley connects the students there to the world is amazing. I, myself, went to a remote area in my country, Indonesia. I went to a small village in the center of Java Island. And it always amazes me how kids in such difficult condition can always manage to put smiles on their faces. It makes me feel grateful and this, dear Jack, is wonderful. Thank you for sharing her story. I'm looking forward on your next one.
So I was in Tanzania only months before you guys last year. Watching this now is amazing. When I saw the Tanzanian airport in the video the familiarity washed over me! Just seriously, thank you so much for covering this. Tanzania gains a special place in the hearts of those who visit it.
Alexannedra this is so true, I went on a community project last year and I miss it more than anything 🇹🇿🇹🇿
I lived in Tanzania for 3 years and it was the happiest years of my life! I miss it so much and just seeing the amazing country again makes me so happy!
JacksGap is by far one of the most thought provoking and inspirational channels on RUclips, they create such incredible content!
+Polly S Very well said! Totally agree :)
Polly S
I love that Following Heart introduces us to people who are making an impact in their community in various places throughout the world. I imagine none of them thought their stories would be shared on youtube, but I'm glad they are.
Jack and Fin I genuinely doubt you guys will see this, but after 3 months without Jacksgap uploading a video you come back with a video that really touched me for 2 reasons: 1. The humanitarian work Ashley Washburn does is truly awe-inspiring. But more importantly those first 15 seconds in which Finn plays Ludovico Einaudi's Experience made me tear up. I connect so many emotions with that song. Those notes bring up so many memories, which is why I also used it in my video.
Anyways, thank you guys for making videos that lighten up my day every time I watch them :)
I'm always on the dark side of RUclips full of people full of hatred for others and I always argue with them try to change their minds than once in a while I come past beautiful videos of selfless people that help others and it really makes me tear up and appreciate life a lot more thank you guys. I can't wait a few more years and I'll be able to help others which brings me joy.
+Lilac Skies My Dream is to be a Humanitarian !!
That is just stunning.the story really makes me appreciate the education i get every second,at the same time inspired me to want to help these kids that truly appreciate education.great job team!👍🏻
And i just can't stop applauding you for using your fame to open eyes and hearts.
The Following Heart series always touches me in the heart. It's one of my favorite series to watch on RUclips.
beautiful video, such inspirational and important work
It really makes you appreciate the education we are used to receive, we should never take it as granted. People in the west are blessed to be born in developed countries; we must assure everyone gets an education.
only 10 sec in and I'm already smiling cause Finn's playing the piano haha ohh i miss them uploading regularly but their new content is heart warming and inspiring :)
I rewatch these videos over and over. They're so beautifully done.
"How much sleep did you have last night"
"I didn't sleep"
Before test days
Finn playing Comptine D'un Autre was so beautiful! This song is absolutely breathtaking!
Happy to see that you are still alive! :)
You guys restore my faith in RUclips and humanity... ❤ Hope to see you again sometime!
That's right near where my dad's from, Zanzibar in Tanzania. By the way I love your videos it's amazing and incredibly inspiring what you do to raise awareness for important issues and show the world in a different light. I have so much respect for you guys x
Thank you for bringing this to my eyes. I cried and thought this is the future I want. To better humanity.
Finn playing piano=heart melts
+Rose Eleanor :)
Made me cry. It's so amazing how someone can do something so selflessly.
waiting for this one for a while! you literally motivate me to make my own movies, and for that, I thank you! :)
My dad went to Tanzania to build houses for families that don't have any place to live with a charity, I hope to do the same next year and so does my brother, it's great to see people raising awareness and doing their part - another amazing video.
That over head shot of the kids running was incredible. The stuff you guys create is incredible. Ugh, I just don't get it. You guys are so great.
This series is great and it shows that humanity still exists, there're people with a huge heart.
But sometimes not only people in Africa need help, people in developing countries also need help and we tend to overlook them.
People on the verge of suicide, abusive families, no place to live, got out of prison and no one hires them, drugs, disrespect to basic human rights, but their voices aren't heard because no one listen to them.
I have so much respect for this team. Keep on creating and inspiring.
This women is so beautiful and such an Inspiration. Thank You JacksGap for showing the world an incredible women and an amazing organisation.
Couldn't wait any longer for a new video! And this one was worth the wait honestly :)
This videos are the ones that touch my heart and make me want to help to make a better world. One without poverty, people dying because they dont get enough food, or people who cant drink clean water. let's make our world, a better one, helping.
It's always my dream to be a teacher in Africa.
This woman and women like her are truly inspiration. What she's doing, however small it may be, is so evidently making a huge difference to all of these kid's lives.
This series is so admirable Jack. Keep doing you, and keep spreading your message, because you're genuinely touching so many people. So much respect for you.
That moment when you live in Tanzania and that's your airport
This really shows some of the reasons I want to become a teacher myself. I know that I won't be doing anything as amazing as this but Ashley really shows the aspects of teaching that are really wonderful. Being able to help your students, seeing the moment of them understanding and being proud of them when they do well.
You're so talented and inspiring!
Honestly because of this RUclips channel I've built up the courage to finally travel to Africa for the 1st time in June through my College & Reach Out Volunteers. Massive Thanks to Jack&Finn for always inspiring me to try something new.
WOW Your videos are amazing!! They are so motivational, so inspirational!! I would love to do content like yours but I don't know where to start! Good luck with all your projects!!
+Alvaro Palacios Vlogs It would be amazing watching videos like this more often.
This makes me so happy, it shows that there are still people in this world who care about what's going on and that is just awesome
This video inspired me so much. I have never been touched with something as much as this before. I had no idea that a video could inspire me this much. Jack and Finn, what you guys do is so wonderful I find it hard to describe. Even more so for ASFE. I am going to get into contact with them and MAKE SURE I help in some way or another. Lets hope I can make a difference.
Such a wonderful lady working for a wonderful organisation! I love what she said at the end about how children don't get to choose where they're born but they all deserve the right to an education 👏🏽
FINNS BACK WOOHOO 🙋🙋🙋🎉🎉🎉
Finn playing Comptine D'un Autre été L'après-midi was so beautiful! This song is absolutely breathtaking!
JACK WERE HAVE U BEEN?!?
can we mention Finn playing piano?
Between this and the John Lewis adverts, I am not sure what makes me cry the most! Tears of joy!! Some amazing people out there with amazing talent to match, bringing it to the world. Keep it coming people!!
does anyone know the name of the piece of music finn was playing at the beginning? was beautiful.
+Chantelle O comptine d'un autre été :)
+Chantelle O ^^ and it's a soundtrack from the movie Amelie
+Aislinn Williams Thank you!! :)
I lived in kenya for 7 years. Kenya is on the boarder of tanzania at masai mara. I think what your doing is great, because for those of us who were born whith there futur on a silver plater don't know how other kids live. givig them the chance to have a better futur and change africa to the better is the best thing you can do. just like at kibera.
asante sana = thank you very much
+Red Panda We Have a student from Kibera living with us this year :)
Asante Sana for Education that is awsome. And thank you for every thing you'r doing for these children.
Quick Video Ideas:
1. Q and A
2. Another "Bored" video
3. Eating breakfast and reciting your favourite poem
4. New Years' Resolutions
5. Top 5 people you love and why
we would all absolutely love a consistency in your videos. Your videos are amazing. But once in a while, even a quick, unedited video telling us how you're doing is just as valuable to us :)
you have no idea how you impact millions of people's lives you are an inspiration to so many of us
Whats the song Finns playing ?
+Robstar It's Comptine d'un autre été.
Check out my channel, i play it on piano. ;-)
+Robstar Comptine d'un autre été MY FAVE
Search "The piano animation" I can guarantee it will make you cry :(
+Robstar It's also from the film Amelie (that's how I know it)
+douvy yes it is this song. I try to do it on guitar sometimes ^_^
Am I the only one who feels, that when he is speaking, it feels like, he is speaking directly to me? I think that's an amazing gift to have! And you're using everything you have, to share the stories of others. I really hope that you are proud of you. Both Jackson and Finnegan. You guys are truly amazing souls - helping other amazing souls. And just bringing a little more light, love and education to all of us behind the screen. You touch people
I've been doing research on Africa for quite a while and honestly the idea of white people coming in to try and help Africa is really disgusting. We believe that we have to help these poor unfortunate Africans but they really ask that we don't do anything. Many charities have offered to help different other schools and they say no because they don't need us to help them learn. Did no one else notice that throughout this entire video they didn't get the kids perspective the lady only talked about how lucky she is. It is important that everyone gets an education. But the simple fact is not everyone wants one or will get the chance to use it. I say to the people out there that want to help them please do more research before you start ducking with their society.
MbuddyCHO I hear what your saying and I do agree. Im trying to refer to the rural regions of Africa that are dominated by tribes. If you watch a couple videos on the Tuareg people, it becomes visible right away that they are very happy and are successful as is. As i said I've been doing research for a while so many other groups out there agree. By the term "white people" I'm making "a before the dawn reference" which is very common in much African rural research. Its an educational speech by a man in guinea who talks about the triple heritage. He describes how the Westerners originally came in Africa seeking to "help the natives" in Africa. Not necessarily that they wanted to help, but it was forced on their throats per say. And in modern times many southern countries and northern countries are under a foreign role. Which leaves many tribal civilizations (lovers of land and lovers of animals) at a disadvantage. Please do your research.
I'm so glad you said this because it's so true. And videos like these are so problematic.
I'm so glad you said this because it's so true. And videos like these are so problematic.
+MbuddyCHO no there is a difference between white people and rich people. She meant white people in her comment lol
people always complain, instead of celebrating the good heart of "white people" who wants to bring awareness and help others, we call them disgusting and diminish their work instead. People like you are the disgusting ones.
Can't. Stop. Crying. Please continue this series!
not gonna lie I had a little cry at this it was so beautifully made and stories like this really touch my heart, I wish everyone could have an education whoever they are and where ever they are.
I don't know why some people just don't appreciate all this film you make, I mean it's so heartwarming and it can change everybody else minds.
Her last words are really touching.. I wish to be like her to make a better world giving love and hope to others.
Dear Jack,
I really love this series in your channel. At first, I only thought u as a handsome RUclipsr like any other RUclips channel. However, when this series came out, I start realizing how talent you are and your inspiration to the world. Everything in your videos is just beautiful, even though there is a poor or dirty area, it still becomes amazing in your videos. This series bring me closer to the world, and make my desire to travel to those beautiful places someday.
I really hope u would come to my country, Vietnam someday. It is a small and beautiful country in Asia. I am sure u would find out many amazing things in our country, where there are only few travelers come each year. Through your camera, I believe Vietnam would be so gorgeous and new.
Good luck to u and your team. I hope to watch more videos in this series soon.
This touched me, immensely. It could have so easily been any of us. So grateful for the world I was born into, and so grateful that people who aren't as fortunate get the chance at gaining an education.
Such a beautiful video. Literal tears.
I remember using Skype in my 7th and 8th grade science class. We got to speak with other students in Mexico and they asked us questions about our life here in the U.S. and we had to have the chance to ask them about there lives. I actually didn't remember that until I had seen this film. Thank you JacksGap for again being so inspiring and uplifting.
What an amazing project that is, I visited tanzania this summer and spent time at mtumbi secondary school in the usambara mountains and i also got to stay in bagamoyo for a few days. It is such a beautiful country and every single person I meet there was so happy and friendly, I cant wait for another opportunity to go back.
This honestly made me cry..so much hope and love in this world.
Humanity is just amazing. How I wish we all have the same rights and the same opportunities to grow in any way we want.
These videos with a purpose are simply amazing and breathtaking.
The transformation and maturity this channel (along with the twins) went through still amazes me.
People like Ashly are just on a different level than most humans. Being able to care and do so much for other students when she really doesn't have to is amazing to me. She's making a difference and this inspires me.. Wonderful story :)
Wow, so much respect for Ashley and for all the things she's done. I had goosebumps all over and am so impressed by this video. These kids are beautiful and deserve education more than anyone.
What i love most about you guys is that you guys are so passionate for film and always focus on bringing attention to the lives of people who dedicate their lives doing things like these or show us sides of the world where people are suffering and have less priorities than most of your viewers and I really hope you guys continue this for a long time
