East Freo should have gone to Frem oval or moved closer to the freeway. They missed the chance. All round mess up by several councils and the club. WAFL should have encouraged them. East Freo council don't want Shark logo at the park because it triggers people. Wont allow them to put in a fence, so they can't charge. They can't put pennants and cups in the club rooms because its used by other businesses during the week apparently. Didn't want the club to be sponsored by mining or old/gas companies. Restricted use of signage depending on the business... Its a $20 to $30 million govt expenditure. East Freo need to call the council's bluff and play out of Frem oval or train/play at Cockburn in meantime.
Trew was lucky to be in the squad in 2023 and 2024. It was a sign that the Eagles didn't want to keep recruiting guys in draft and rookie draft, so they kept on extending listed players and rookie players. Trew was very lucky to survive in the list.
The fact Ken gets fined 20k because he's in a position of power and only responding to what was said towards Port makes no sense. Regardless of position or power everyone is human yet the treatment is completely different between between coach and player.
Jermaine Jones only played good footy as half back for Eagles. Elsewhere he didn't perform and this year they tried him as a pressure forward, defender and midfielder and he was disappointing. Then there was the match he didn't put his hands up on the mark. Really poor. I saw him on Eagles' Coast to Coast podcast, with Kelly, Brockman, Ryan and Jones. Brockman and Jones were really incoherent and didn't seem to have any focus whatsoever. At least Ryan had a bit of wit and intelligence about him. Sorry about criticising former teammates and its purely based on how they presented themselves. But after seeing Jones and Brockman, I lost faith that they could deliver.
Usually good for a laugh, but Skeeta MC'ing a Cabinet Making Awards Night, pure gold 😅 will he also be the voice for the platform announcements on the new Ellenbrook train line once it opens ?
