    This is an awesome video. I always have problems with t-shirts being either too wide or sleeves being awkward. Hopefully there's more videos to come.

    I’m enjoying your videos. I’m taking a beginner tailoring class in the fall and I’m preparing for it.

      Being 6’9” learning this will be helpful. Plus I want to help frail elderly people look good and fashionable as the shrink and lose body mass and functionality

    I'd love to see you do a video on how to take in a shirt that's too wide in the back! I get a lot of hand-me-downs that are nice. but that vertical seam, where the sleeve meets the main panel, usually sits on/outside of my shoulder, instead of between the shoulder and neck.

    I would love to see your take on how to tailor a shirt (sleeves, arm hole, and sides). There are plenty of videos from the “average Joe”, but I want to see dress shirt tailoring from a professional tailor. Thanks! If you really want a challenge, I have yet to see someone who can lengthen a dress shirt sleeve (only 1/2” or so)

    Do you have to choose the more 'elastic' threads to match the jersey material of the t-shirt?

      SCD Observer no polyester all purpose thread is all you need.

      No but you should use a stretch stitch like a zigzag, not a straight stitch as he suggests

    Have you ever used whit hard soap as an alternative for marking? I gather it's possible to use, but I'm not sure whether ironing the fabric has any effect on the soap.
    Only asking as most people have hard soap, but it washes out when washing the garment, unlike Biro.

      Rabid avid I’ve heard people use it but I love the wax because it comes out so easy with steam

    Second request. Can you show us how to take in the seam at the butt and crutch of a pair of pants. At times I've bought oversize jeans to get the right leg size, but often the waist is too big, and the butt / seat size is too big! Any tips / techniques would be helpful.

    • @AspiringGent
      @AspiringGent  4 года назад +1

      Rabid avid for a heavy pant like jeans I would recommend get the waist and seat right and alter the legs. It take a lot of work and equipment to do the waist and seat of denim well. If you just need the waist that’s a different story.

    Where can one purchase this tailor’s chalk? Look like it marks very smoothly 🤔

    Thanks for the great video! On an off topic: why is hemming pants on the bias not more common than it is? I prefer to have the front of my pants about a half inch shorter than the back so that I get a clean break (small to none) on front of the shoe while retaining some coverage on the heel. When I request this type of hem, nobody seems to understand.

      it's really sad not to see that anymore it uses the be the standard for many years. but as you see less experienced tailors the more the fine details leave.
