I am not a real believer in MIPS systems for rotational flex. That means the impact is not blunt, but a vector of an angle, twisting the shell also. But it is blunt force that is the worst force for the brain, and the fast is, the more shallow the vector angle witch can increase twisting, the less blunt force there is. Truly, I think a round shell would work better than the MIPS with modern ridged shells. Give me some of the new energy absorption materials and a carbon fiber shelled Bell Moto-4, and it would be just as good for protection, and not look like the shell was designed by students of the Batman school of art. :)

People say it's a lot of money... how much money is YOUR memory worth?

I don't get this era, helmets for one example. The helmet shapes are not round anymore, but full of ridges and peaked nose pieces. I know some of it is for venting, but still. MIPS is the big rage to fight against twisting forces, (but blunt force is damaging to the brain). But the ridges and nose piece hits the ground, grab the ground and twist the helmet.
I say a round shell works better than MIPS. So for safety's sake, fire the art departments. :)

    Agreed.
