Thank goodness there were some people who understood what the night was about and had grace and class to laugh off silly jokes. Thank goodness for DeNiro and Meryl Streep for getting it.

He's sharing his experience and it's a real one.

Kevin said it pretty well, the inexperience was probably the biggest issue. He was terrible on stage tho, you can't make a joke and then apologize right after, throwing the writers under the bus, he had no charisma and you could tell he was nervous. His big mistake was trying to entertain the celebs there, when he should've been more concerned about the people watching at home. If the celebs don't have fun, but the viewers at home do, that's a job well done, but the other way around would not be a job well done.

It was never about Jo Koy being a bad comedian. He does sell out Arena's. He just wasn't prepared for that room. You have all of Hollywood from the best Directors to Billionaire Pop-stars. It is not an audience for anyone not highly networked. Ricky had The Office, he had numerous golden globe wins. He was part of the crowd. He won more awards than many in the room.

Jo Koy's jokes were funny and sometimes on the intelligent side. The hollowed crowd were beastly. Why is nobody mentioning Jarrod Carmichael's hosting prior to Jo Koy's? That was only last year. If I must compare, I'd say JK did so much more.

Thanks Kevin Hart. Your thoughts here are spot on. Jo Koy is hilarious but not a Hollywood film/TV guy. What relationships did he have in that space? They didn't "know" each other. He will be fine. He is still funny as hell. Now if folk will just move on.
Some of the jokes were flat with them, but i dunno i was laughing a lot with his opening monilogue. I thought the akward looks on the celebrities' faces while Jo was roasting some of them was hilarious. I think Hollywood is overreacting. Even when Jo was like, "Saying what i took the Job on a short notice, he said that even in a way of his comedian personality. I thought that was all a part of his monilogue as well. Jo Koy did fine
