Michael I absolutely love watching you!!! I haven’t played samba for many years but have played in two very good samba bands in the past, playing no 1 surdu, tamborim, agogo bell and chocahlo. Sadly I suffered very bad tendonitis in my forearms and elbows from playing and can’t do it anymore. Your explanations are really clear and given with such enthusiasm. I will keep coming back to watch you so I at least keep this knowledge in my head!
Thank you so much, Caroline! I am very glad that you enjoy my videos. It is sad that you can't play anymore yourself and that the tendonitis were caused by playing. You are always welcome to watch my videos and I hope they will support you! I wish you all the best!!
Hi Michael, thanks for all your super great videos/lessons that already so many world wide batucada's learning from, you are amazing. I'm building now a Ripinique drum and I wondered which lether/skin will the best to buy for top and bottom of the drum, someone recommended for me, Remo Ambassador clear, do you think it's ok for that drum? then which for the bottom? Thanks a-lot for all what you do for us, Tal.
Thank you! I use Remo Ambassador (smooth white) for my repinique. For the bottom you can use the same or another plastic skin. The bottom is just for the resonating. I wouldn't use lether.... I wish you good luck!
Nice Intro!!! There are two missing measures in the notation, in measure 11 begins the Tambourim triplets for four mesures, or 8 triplets, in notation are only 2 mesures (4 triplets). However, nice work with your channel, I always found interesting lessons for my classical percussion students.
Yes I have lessons about samba batucada and samba-reggae on my channel: ruclips.net/video/aeT_4W5sxa0/видео.html or ruclips.net/video/mmd_7p62Z18/видео.html
Very good, I'm trying it with my students :) By the way, I'd be happy to buy your scores if you decided to publish them somewhere. Have you thought about it?
