I drive an 18 wheeler and use this grill a few times a week. It is durable and really designed well. I love how it folds up and you can easily do two zone cooking. I may have two Kamado Joes at home but this is my go to grill when I am away from home. Mine is five years old and still in great shape.
This is an awesome grill, you can cook almost anything in it at perfection. Works great with indirect fire, plus its the most portable charcoal grill ever. So worth the price. I love it
This review is perfect for the regular grillers like us. We are looking for something to take RVing with us and this guy told us and showed us exactly what we needed to know. Excdellent!!
Really great vid. I like that you actually cooked something on it which really helps me visually to make a decision. Plus, you telling us it cools in 10 to 15 minutes once the charcoal has been removed is great to know.Thank you for posting!
Such an informative video. Thanks a million. I went out and bought one today at Ace Hardware and will be using it this weekend. I was beyond impressed with some of the features that you showed me how to use. Had no idea It had vents on the side and had a place to hang the lid. Now when I read the manual I’ll be ahead of the game. Really appreciate you taking the time to put this together. My family and I are propane grill users so I am new to charcoal and wanted to start out with a small one.
I absolutely love the "lightweights" comment for the gas-asses. I'm with you brother. Charcoal is the only way to go! I just bought this grill and gonna fire it up today. I've had several Weber grills the past 30 years and apartment life caused me to downsize. Lookin fwd to it. Thanks for the info! Happee grillin'!!
Got one. Think I am going to love it. Cooked kebabs on it last night. One thing to mention is that temperature can get to 100C at table level. So, be careful what you cook on.
Great review man. Found one of these at my local Home Depot yesterday on clearance and the dude knocked another $20 bucks off for me so I couldn’t pass it up for $45. I think this may take the place of my Smokey Joe for our camping grill and for those nights I’m not cooking enough to warrant firing up the Performer.
Thanks for a good video with good audio. I like charcoal because you get to add as many briquettes as you need, summer, winter, high elevation. Propane? Nope. There’s a max flow and that’s it. Do cut the cooking rack in half. You can centre it and add charcoal to either side on the fly, you can slide the food on and off the coals.
I have one, they're great. Mod TIP#1: Cut the stainless steel grill in half. It gives you much better flexibility when cooking to top up coals and also when smoking meat 🥩, as well as storing utensils when not in use.
I've both, charcoal and gas. Gas one is an oldie with the wooden handles...of which two years back I had to find a new tent/heat dispersion for the inside, so no more using bbq sauce on the gas version. ~ oh, don't many people intend to clean such out? lol, it's a common cause of gas grill fires is the buildup. FYI: I got a magnetic thermometer (flue pipe thermo.) to slap on top of either, but makes more sense for the gas version vs low/med/high. But thinking of trying some Cornish hens in the charcoal if tall enough.
I have 5 weber grills and the go anywhere charcoal version is may favorite. Not to mention it cheaper by literal hundreds of dollars lol. I smoked burgers on this thing with the same charcoal ratio and set you have with some hickory chunks all indirect. I can only use it for camping because my hoa. But its Perfect size for camping.
As he said cooking for only two , this is a good solution. The size ( high temperatures ) and portability is just the thing you need. Less cleanup of dishes, no electricity/gas and also smoked flavors. Great for lockdowns. Don't forget the veggies and fruit to make life smoother!
The ten people who gave this review a thumbs down are idiots. This is a great review, just what I needed to know to decide whether to make a purchase. Thanks to you, I found one for $49 with free shipping, and it's a go. Thanks for doing this review.
Nice that the top can be hung off the side. And I bet it would put out the coles with closing the grill vents like a big Webber grill....Nice small grill..
Was looking at Smokey Joe simply because I want to replace our current cheap round one. Website for store had no other photos or info on this one, but after your video, I think it's the one I'll get. Thanks!
Thank you for a very good review :) I've already got the propane version (with adaptor for large propane bottles). I do prefer charcoal so I want to be able to choose between charcoal and propane depending on the situation. Your review answered what I already suspected - it's a great charcoal grill. Greetings from Sweden
I not allow to use my charcoal bbq at my house anymore because they found flammable cladding. But the i’m addicted to charcoal cooked. So this is perfect for inside use on top of my stove!!!
Great review I used to have one until I left it at a camp ground, nearly 20 years ago. I laughed hard at the line "lightweights that don't use charcoal".
Yea charcoal does make for better taste, i prefer using propane because it gets going quicker and makes ready for stowing in the car quicker after done cooking. Much more ideal when trying to get up and go when camping.
Still using mine after 10 years, but have to replace now. So happy they're still available! None other on the market compare to this one! Buying another today.... No cyber Monday discount, but no problem, 71.00 now....
Nice video! Just ordered one. Is there any reason why you are grilling atop two stepping stones and not on the table? Is it because of heat or you just wanted the grill higher?
On my second bbq with this unit, I went to place the lid on the bracket and the whole thing tipped over off the table onto my timber deck! Coals and pork ribs everywhere. Just beware, be gentle as it isn’t very stable if it’s pushed a bit.
Hey I'm considering buying one and (yes I know this vid is 11 yrs old) I noticed that version of Go Anywhere they sell at my place does not have side handles at all.
I have had a Weber Charcoal Compact for 18 years and it's great. I also have a Jumbo Joe which I got a few months ago and it's superb for roasting small pieces of meat and some direct cooking. But thinking about it, I need one of these Go Anywhere Charcoal grills. Thanks for making the video :-) Merry Christmas.
Thanks for a great review.. Been thinking and researching for so long now and your great video showed it in a working setting, which is vital when making a decision. Only one thing though, can you please send me some of that sunshine ☀, as I want to use the grill alot in England.. lol
if you close up all the air vents will it snuff out the fire to save Briquettes, and i want to say that was one of the best reviews i've seen on youtube easy to understand informative and thorough thanks be safe
Hi, I'm thinking of buying this, I've never charcoal grilled myself, so I'm wondering if I can use wood stick kindling and wood pellets instead of charcoal? I have 2 amazing Silverfires that only need very small amounts of small sticks, pine cones things like that, so can I get away with that on this grill? Thanks!
@@ManCaveMealsAww, oh well, I already placed the order to buy one and will go buy a few bags of charcoal in a few days. I also watched a few other videos on this grill and can handle it...thanks again!

I just found out about this grill in 2019. Can't believe it's been out for so long. You made this in 2012! So convinced I want one.

Lol I just ordered one from Amazon an hour back and this video makes me so happy about the decision. Can’t believe I am watching it so late!

Keep the side vents closed when winter storage/garage/shed?. Mice can get in.

Quick tip on the handles is to change them to wood. You can find the old school Weber wooden handles if you search around online.
Great Webber review I’ll definitely be buying one thanks to your video cheers mate 👍

Hope you’re still getting great use out of your Weber Go Anywhere Grill.
Solid review, I was thinking about yielding to propane but charcoal is the only way for me.
Still your fave go grill 10 years later? About to pickup one
I have sort of upgraded to the Jumbo Joe as my favorite portable charcoal grill now, but I haven't lost any love for the go anywhere.
Man I remember having one of those back in mid 90s lol
Nice video! Just ordered one. Is there any reason why you are grilling atop two stepping stones and not on the table? Is it because of heat or you just wanted the grill higher?
Because the table was plastic and I didn't want to take a chance on overheating the table top

I thought the most interesting part is that it says it's designed to be used with the lid on so it acts as a little smoker too
this is easily the best portable bbq iv seen upto now!

Yes, to reuse the wood or coals it goes out quickly when all vents are closed.
Great Review! Thanks Man Cave Meals.

A lot of informations I didn´t know before! THANKS
Right on man !!!! Charcoal all the way !!!!!! Thanks for the video !!!!
Good reviews. I definitely buying one now
Based on your review I bought this yesterday. Thanks.
So how do you heat up the coals? When on the move what would you need
The small weber charcoal chimney.
Got mine today after gas grilled rusted out. Works just as good as the non lightweights say! $49.00 plus taxes from Home Depot.
Great review thanks!!
Do the tabletop below it get very hot? I see that you are using some thermal stones.
Thank you very much for your review. You've helped my decision making process a lot.
For the same price you can a small 12 inch Komado better quality though probably won’t last too lung in the back of a 4x4 on a bumpy road
Excellent review, my man!
Great video! Thanks for posting, I’m definitely buying now haha
Perfect review thank you!
Agree with TheBringa TheCuba.....this is an excellent review.........
It's very helpful your review! Thanks from Germany.
great video. However I think a Jumbo Joe (same price) is bigger and cooks more like the regular Weber.
true but the jumbo joe isn't as portable.
Great Review! Will Definitely be getting one.
I love your video! Thank you so much for sharing your tips and experiences! :)
10 years ago? holy smoke!!!
Time flies :)
How much charcoal did you use for this cook? 1 small chimney starter seems to get the temp to Hot. Close to 250c degrees
I don't remember exactly.. this is a very old video. Temperature inside the grill is really irrelevant for direct heat grilling.
I will look into the mini bbq thanks grill guy! 🤠
How long did you cook the burgers on each side?
Great review.
Why aluminium folia? Don`t you have that metal plate on the bottom ?
Great review! Thanks!
It looks like it would make a nice small smoker for a small meal too.....
Thanks a lot for sharing your amazing video.
Good review, thanks mate!
Am back its like this 😎😎 looks amazing
Hey mine does not have the handles on the side.....
Great Charcoal Grill
How much charcoal would a grill this size require? Thanks
Maybe half of a weber chimney... give or take depending on how much you wanna cook
I stand corrected. Respect.
5:55 actually awesome tip
Thanks for the review.
Thanks for review
Cool 😎
Could you use wood instead of charcoal
Great wee video.
Ugh! some people use charcoal and god forbid butane, i however use only genuine propane and propane accessories=)
