EPIC BACKYARD MAKEOVER PART 4 - Building a Paver Sitting Wall on a Paver Patio

- We are continuing this epic 2020 backyard makeover by starting on the hardscaping and paver patio. We are mostly focusing on installing a paver block retaining wall around the fire pit area. I will go into the base preparation for this type of sitting wall in addition to all the steps right through the caps and layout of the wall. Building a paver patio sitting wall like this one is pretty easy as long as you have the right plan in place and do the proper base preparation. We also install some stone veneer on the privacy wall and create a unique design on the back of the wall with a faux hedge panel. We also start laying the first section of pavers, but most of the paver patio installation will be covered in the next video!

the biggest thing is that the deckorators railings are all welded together so they can never rattle like that
What type of gravel are you guys using instead of the sand under the pavers any why ? Thank you!
We use a 3/8 clean stone as the setting bed and a 3/4 clean stone for the base. The open graded stone has no fines in it so it doesn’t hold any moisture and is also much easier to achieve proper compaction. We switched to this style of base about 2 years ago and love it
