Saw you at the sold out show in Houston at House of Blues on a Thursday night! I was ROFLMAO! You interact with and read the crowd very well. Will recommend to all my friends!
Just saw Nigel's first stand up in LA. Not a moment where we weren't laughing. As a med student preparing for my licensing exam, I had to plan 6 months ahead just for this. Definetly worth every minute stuck in LA traffic. Highly recommend you all try to attend his show. Hopefully Netflix signs a special with you Nigel! Can't wait for the next one!
Nigel! I'm mexican American and I love Asian food. That's actually how I found your content. I also work at a Comedy club out here in Glendale, AZ. I would love to see you perform sometime.
Not only in the states. Maybe its my social bubble, but anime and videogames are super "normalised". Most people I know from Uni watch or have watched anime. Edit: I'm from Germany btw
As a American I can tell Nigel gets us more then some Americans get themselves. You seem like a great guy. I appreciate the respect you show to the people that live here. I know we have a bad name but you explain use in the best possible why I’ve heard yet. Thanks brother you have some great content and your such a great person.
Monty Python is like the least-niche form of British entertainment in the US. As an American, from Ohio, I don't know many people who WOULDN'T reply to "Tis but a flesh wound" with "No it's not. Ya' arm's off."
You could probably make bank in Hawaii too. We love the ethnic jokes because there is so much ethnic diversity, and there's a very high Asian population there too. Our older comedians from the 80's and 90's made their career on ethnic jokes. Jo Koy had to keep adding shows because his shows kept selling out and he ended up doing about 15 shows there!
Hey Nigel, you didn’t mention meeting Ester during NYC appearance. Great surprise for coming Sunday post, already over 600 comments as of Friday night on a, “guess what’s coming” post.
I love hearing about your tours and I am happy your sets worked well in the US. I am looking forward to your special, wherever you decide to put it. Your audience interaction video was also great, your crowd work is on point.
In Thailand, it's only shady places that give the hand job at the massage parlour, or you are super rich that pay them for the hand job. Normally, the masseurs don't do that.
Every time he does one of his 'controversial' takes, I can just hear Evelyn's voice in my head going "Nigel!!!". Maybe producer Matt could have an Evelyn sound effect button to rein Nigel in when necessary? 🤣
Some places to consider for future US tours: Boston (to visit Uncle Nick) Miami (to visit Guga) Kansas City (where I live - and we do better BBQ than Texas because we'll BBQ everything) St. Louis (after KC, my favorite city)
1. Matt if you ever need therapy after the podcast let me know! 2. massage with no happy ending - Burke Williams 3. Nigel in L.A.! yes, we get ethnic jokes bc we are diverse here! and love comedy shows!! you are funny!
I have no idea what an avocado actually tastes like. I just use it in other things to add a creamy texture without having to add dairy, like smoothies or pesto. The oil is useful because it has a higher smoke point than olive oil but has a neutral flavor so you can use it for baking and stuff without it making things taste weird.
The tech companies are known for paying bare minimum wage wise for the ages. A couple friends from college that were in the CS department moved out to San Fran/Silicon Valley area and even starting out making a bit over 100k they're sharing a 3-room apartment with a third to comfortably just get by bill wise (don't forget Cali taxes the living shit out of income). I know others that are either sleeping on couches or sharing rooms in places to get by with similar income because they're living closer to the office/in town to have time to sleep (otherwise it's hours of day one way in traffic while already working long hours). All that said, no way in hell I would live in that state. If I was going to live on the west coast it'd be on the Washington/Oregon border living in Washington with no income tax and shopping in Oregon with no sales tax like a photographer friend does. The scenery is nicer up there anyway, same with the East coast I would be up in Maine if I had to live in the Northeast.
Don't give up on San Francisco. Next time advertise to the chefs, musicians, and artists. We are your fan base we just work insane hours to afford the cost of living to stay in a city we love.
I could handle all your hot takes, even the ones on slavery, but not you hating on avocado😭. Avocado is delicious, us Latinos/Hispanics love love love it. Btw, there are variations in Latin America of avocado and the flavors vary slightly.
Michael mcintre also have the same comment on USA audience, in an interview. Nigel dont be too hard on avocado . Indonesian butter & aligator avocado taste so good. I used to eat standard avocado with coffee or chocholate , but now i Just eat straight up. You should try when You come to Jakarta So sad I cant come to your show because its sold out (yesterday its 9 seats for the most expensive one) . And my eldest in Boarding School so he cant come. He’s very sad about it, so we couldnt come without him
It's not all Americans but yeah, it's niche. British comedy has been my jam since I was a young kid and found Monty Python, Faulty Towers and Are You Being Served. After that, it was Red Dwarf, Ab Fab, The Young Ones, A Bit of Fry & Laurie, adored Rik Mayall since Drop Dead Fred which got a full 11% on Rotten Tomatoes and watched all the British stand up we could get. ... I grew up poor in rural Alabama in the 90s, was super limited in what I could access. I LOVE all of the panel shows, can't get enough. My kids and i do Taskmaster tasks. But yeah... Monty Python is literally the only one I ever get to connect with other people on.
TV shows getting Internet stars on them just gets more eyes on the TV show regarding Millennial and younger generations. Gen X and older it’s a mixed bag but TV probably grows your audience among them. Of course these are generalizations.
I'm autistic (and have ADHD, etc.), on a high functioning side of the spectrum. Whenever I come across autism-related comedy, I almost feel as if I'm 'not autistic enough' to be on the receiving end of the stereotype, but then again i do have those traits, so i can relate lol... I'm not all that good at maths, but whatever is purely based on logic makes more sense to me. I'm more analytical than most people around me, but I'm only leaning more toward being 'that autistic kid' rather than 'the autistic person' someone knows. I wonder if one of your future jokes can explore how 'learning support' for children with various conditions is a thing in education, especially in OECD countries, but as soon as we become legally adult by the amount of time passed since birth, suddenly we're expected to become 'normally functioning'? I'm a secondary school teacher and since my diagnoses in mid-20s, i've researched into those conditions and found that most things are actually 'things most people learn at a certain (common) point in life/timeline but we (aspies, etc.) somehow missed out on'. Wanna say more but then it'll get REALLY long lol
The proper American term is Massage Therapist. Masseuse is actually what the European term is and in America is often thought of as being someone who will do sexual things. Massage therapists are licensed and have to go through 1000 hours of training in most states. If you go to a massage parlor you can probably expect there’s some sketchy shit goes on there. If you go to a spa or a massage therapy clinic it is purely professional therapeutic massage. There are plenty of sketchy places if that’s what you’re looking for, they don’t look the same at all.
Us people in the far northern Indiana and Chicago....we are in the the midwest....but we aren't rednecks. That is mid/south Indiana. Of northerners are not Hoosiers...but a mix of culture. We love to laugh, we are raised with many different races, we are smart but still have a touch of the southern hospitality. You lived in Chicago for a minute. Yeah, let your guard down and you will be robbed and gutted. But hold your head high, don't wear a roxlex...and everyone will welcome you with open arms and intelligent conversation. I'm moving to the swamps of southern Lousiana though. I love my peeps...but the weather is just to cold. Rather talk to an alligator than an awesome person if the weather is right. Problem with hitting 40.
As a Mexican I take offense sir! Oh, and diamonds are not valuable, it's scarcity is articiallly created and they are useless. At least you can eat the avocado.
I would say a more "woke" way to express your feelings about Ukrainian refugees is that they will need more help transitioning from their traumatic recent past to a different culture/country than you are equipped to provide, so, for you, it's more effective to donate money rather than your house, in which you won't be present and have the ability to support them psychologically during this difficult time. You're welcome.
Help me understand how, if Nigel wants Matt to have a fancier webcam, it's Matt's responsibility to buy that? :D Did you have any remarkable barbecue when you were in Texas?
The queer eye guys try and give uncle Roger a makeover....but plot twist they all end the episode in orange polos
Saw you at the sold out show in Houston at House of Blues on a Thursday night! I was ROFLMAO! You interact with and read the crowd very well. Will recommend to all my friends!

It was such a fun night that a lady even fell off her chair because of laughing too hard 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you Nigel!!!!!!
Producer Matt has really come out of his shell
Nigel! I'm mexican American and I love Asian food. That's actually how I found your content.
I also work at a Comedy club out here in Glendale, AZ. I would love to see you perform sometime.
I live in Phx (next 'town' over for those who don't know but really it's just a suburban sprawl). This 10x
We in SF are absolutely nerds on the spectrum. So naturally, we love you, Nigel. Thanks for coming, looking forward to having you back in May :)
My favorite part of this podcast is watching Matt squirm after Nigel says something that's very true but not PC
I wouldn't call Anime "niche" anymore, here in the States. You'd be surprised at how many people watch Anime here now.
All japanese animes?
Not only in the states. Maybe its my social bubble, but anime and videogames are super "normalised". Most people I know from Uni watch or have watched anime.
Edit: I'm from Germany btw
The fact that crunchy roll and FUNimation merged and has such a huge following shows how good anime is in North America
I agree, the majority of people that I know watch anime as well
Its so relaxing to listen to this podcast while ur doing something
true man
Listening to this podcast while fixing an 787 late night here at PHX 🤙🏼
Where is the intro music?! That's my favourite part of the podcast! My head bounces everytime!
"Avocado is the worst thing that has happened to the culinary world"
Preach brother preaaaach!!
Imagine if they brought Jamie Oliver on The Wheel the same episode.
Poor Tom, his story took a dramatic turn. He was trying to be polite and ended up ruining an entire families life! 😉
Also...You were in pretty blue parts of Texas - both Houston and Dallas aren't really super conservative.
Lol. Still mind blowing that Nigel was a data scientist before. The git jokes are hilarious
As a American I can tell Nigel gets us more then some Americans get themselves. You seem like a great guy. I appreciate the respect you show to the people that live here. Ohio comments now 😂. This hasn't aged well 😂😂
@@Valconize Howso?
Haiyaa! Uncle Roger, anime is not a niche subject anymore in U.S. It's everywhere from rap music to Netflix. Anime don't mean neckbeard no more.
..... digital animation ain't anime.....
I dk why, Matt just looks like Jessie Pinkman everytime to me lol

You are both delightful!
please! make some podcasts with Evelyn! Your duo was the best!
Every time he does one of his 'controversial' takes, I can just hear Evelyn's voice in my head going "Nigel!!!". Maybe producer Matt could have an Evelyn sound effect button to rein Nigel in when necessary? 🤣

FuiYoh! Uncle Matthew here impressed that Nephew Nigel can be filming! Wish you good luck filming tomorrow

Black American here and I love Asian food, and glad you enjoyed your time in America.
1. Matt if you ever need therapy after the podcast let me know!
2. massage with no happy ending - Burke Williams

Absolute no filters...pure comedy & no woke, whatever crap!! 👍👍🏻!!
Don’t give up San Francisco! Our company needs data scientist like you 🙌
Keep those GitHub jokes going Nigel. I didn't think I would laugh, but when you told one, I found out I wasn't normal either.

Finally someone agree with me about avocado!
What an ending to the podcast rofl hahah! Love it! Next time I'll have that extra massage xD
...were you also not paying much attention when you were in Texas? Tons of asian tourists or visitors like going full cowboy here.
Ummmm we just grow our avos in the backyard… I’ve spent most of my life not having to pay for them because you always know someone who has a tree!
Seems like you really liked Texas!
Seattle is a tech city too! Hope you like it here. Move your ass here!! 😅
Since ur going out to LA again, try to do a short video with Jenny Babas!!!
Lol love the cowboy hat story 😂
Nigel - " I paid $100 for the Straw Hat... then I threw it into the crowd and signed it after. "
Matt - " Thats *BOWLIN'!* "
would be funny if you did a reading 'hungry/thristy' comments video :)
Dammit, you arent coming close enough to Iowa for me to get to.
ive seen the video and there is some strong chemistry
Come to Miami, Florida!
TV shows getting Internet stars on them just gets more eyes on the TV show regarding Millennial and younger generations. Gen X and older it’s a mixed bag but TV probably grows your audience among them.

I will see you at the show on Saturday
YES! you need to move to the US!
If you're the one making GitHub jokes, then face it... You're one of us 🤓

Uncle Roger sadly cannot substitute for Antoni (the Food guy on Queer Eye) we need both, not a substitution!!
Come to Canada

Yep, grass flavored fruit. Agreed.
Nigel is definitely a cultural genius.
Nice episode again 👌
I wanted to come and see you in the netherlands, but the wheelchair spots are sold out, noooo!

As a Mexican I take offense sir! Oh, and diamonds are not valuable, it's scarcity is articiallly created and they are useless. At least you can eat the avocado.

New episode yay!
Come to Denver!!

haiyaaaaaaaaa new episode
Yay. Avocado is slime. You are so awesome .
8 minutes in and basically all of my niches have been exposed
So close to 100K
I wouldn’t say Monty Python is niche, but non-Mr. Bean Rowan Atkinson/Blackadder is definitely niche.
Im an American and Taskmaster is hilarious.
Please take Matt and Tom to Bangkok.
Proper tele
Help me understand how, if Nigel wants Matt to have a fancier webcam, it's Matt's responsibility to buy that? :D
Did you have any remarkable barbecue when you were in Texas?
