Where did he comfort her exactly? In this scene, he doesn't bother to go after his crying friend. And if you are talking about the molotovs scene he doesn't comfort her there, either. All he said there was about who could have paused Fast Times on the "boobies scene" (Maybe she has a horndog brother or, she is into Judge Reinhold?)

I watched this scene with my brother and dad. When Vickie was suddenly scared by someone, I already felt myself start to tear up. My dad and brother felt bad, but they didn't feel the same pain as me watching it.

At first I thought Steve and Robin would date since 3 years ago but then I reliazed she’s lesbian which isn’t a bad thing. But I’m glad that Steve comforts her because Steve’s like a brother to her.
Robin was actually supposed to be Steve's love interest but Maya hawke who plays robin gave the duffer brothers the idea to write Robin as a Lesbian.
