Mac had the saddest storyline this season but also some of the funniest moments.
She played depression so well. 😭 She has had so many things going on in her life, but nobody noticed or cared enough. Lucas was busy with his stupid basketball game with popular kids, Mike and Dustin with their Hellfire club. No one tried enough to reach out to her. They left her alone.
At least Lucas came to his senses and tried more with her later.
This is literally me sometimes. There’s no females my age range (gonna be 22 real soon; 7-28-00) at my church’s youth group, my male friend who’s either 1-2 years younger than I am is busy w/work and College, my parents are working a lot, and my older annoying sister is still in another state.😭🙏
Lucas was always worried for Max and always wanted to be there for her, although she wanted alone time and all so she didn't let Lucas interfere or anything. Everyone noticed Max change because obviously her brother died and her life wasn't the same.
@@sashini438 that's why I said no one tried *enough*, they sort of left her to wallow and other things became more important, like Lucas inviting her to his game or Dustin asking her to join that club.

And in my opinion, if they had just MET each other in the start, they would've actually helped each other sooo muchh putting their problems togetjee, Max fighting the bullies, and El being an emotional support to her
tbh it’s a two edged sword. lucas did notice and cared for her but she pushed him away and it probably hurt him too. maybe if el had been around she would’ve opened up to her more

One of my favorite characters before max joined was Dustin cuz he reminds me of my cousin, then max joined and I immediately loved her she reminds me of myself lol, sarcastic, silly, distanced when it comes to emotions, closed off, social but introvert at the same time, chill at times, very intuitive, invested in things that are important to her, sad but not everyone can see that, forgiving, continuously blaming herself for others mishaps, over thinker, stressor, barely gets sleep, style change depending on mood, Lil tomboi-ish 😭, Lowkey a Lil lot more than Lil, not willing to admit how she feels, never able get over mistakes she’s made, never know what she’s thinking or going to do, just remains a mystery 😭so yeah literally me lol kinda weird but nice to see that me and max relate a lot . :) ✌️

From S4E1 I was drawn to Sadie's performance. I never noticed in the first three seasons, but starting from season 4 I found her absolutely astounding. She's going to shine like a star!

I didn’t much like Max last season but that quickly changed this season with the legendary Dear, Billy episode. Her and Eddie are definitely the MVPs of Vol. 1
Why? She helped El discover who she was as a person and outside of both Mike and Hopper. If this is about Mileven, they were thirteen. I promise you, the breakup wasn't that deep. And it did both Mike and El a lot of good
@@violetrose674 No not because of that its because the way Max manipulated El to break up with Mike, don't get me wrong I really liked her showing EL a life outside of Mike and the cabin but she didn't have to manipulate her not only that be she treated Lucas badly (One of my issues with season 3) and she didn't even listen to Mike or Lucas about using Eleven too much.
But THANK GOD they fixed her in season 4 she acted like herself in season 2 and Sadie Sink deserves to egt an Emma for episode 4.

Max herself does not seem to be very good in relationships. so she obviously will not know the best way to deal with an incident like that. El had a choice to break up with Mike, she CHOSE to break up with him. Max straight up said "Give him a taste of his own medicine, if he does not explain himself. Then dump him". Something along those lines-

I love Max because I relate to her. I relate to her because she’s dealing with depression and so am I. When she says she wishes something terrible would happen to her, I feel that. Also just like her, I’m angry and I am sarcastic and I’m always listening to music in my headphones.

I think in season 5 we'll see how Max isn't dead, but her spirit/mind is just stuck in the underground world. Remember how 001 had all of the victim's minds/spirits tied up by the house where he wanted to kill max, That's where she is., because she already technically died, but El brought her back to life with her powers in the real world. The way we have to close the gate in Hawkins is to take back max's spirit and kill the beast before he kills another sacrifice and becomes stronger. That's my logical theory
