Great find! This is going to be an interesting make over. I'm fortunate enough that my 350X is all 1986 parts except the fenders. My frame was twisted and there were two small cracks on the tail right where yours shows the weld build up, so I ended up doing a Full Gusset kit and straightened the frame and it's back pretty close to what it should be. Just wondering if your engine on this build is an '85 or '86 even though the clutch cable route is '86? Looking forward to seeing the next Video on this bike 👍
@@cj7fun579 thats a good point, i will check the engine serial numbers to be certain This is really is a 86 with the wrong sticker and some bad customizations. I pull off all the electrical tape tonight. Your gonna love it.
I personally think it is a great find. I think what you plan on doing is a great idea. Especially if you have that option. I'm not positively sure, one of the differences with that axle is that the 85 was smaller diameter than the 86. Preston would most likely know. I'm hoping they didn't install an 85 axle in an 86 Housing bearing. It may have been sloppy and they came up with that as "fix". I guess we will know when you get that electrical tape off. I'm just guessing on that. I'm excited to see this re-build. 😊👍
What an opportunity! Throw everything at your "Rider", and worry about details at your leisure. Everything I"ve got is a "Rider", so perfection isn't in my vocabulary. My trucks, wheelers and everything else screams "Function". I just went 2 weeks without pay and tossed in an envelope full of "that kite flying head of state's finest" to pay for my latest purchase that I got home last night. As always, I rode her down to the dam and took a picture with my frozen pond behind it. Glad the snow got a rise out of you but 65 is something I won't see for a while, but enjoy.
I'm just curious how do you know that that sticker wasn't bought off ebay because arnt the stickers on the steer tube not on the side of the air vent to the air box clearly that trike has been gone through if stuff is different than original or stock both my 200x's have that date stickers on the steer tube
@@3wheelslifelonglivetheatc559 i stated the sticker was in the wrong place it should run level to the ground on the frame above the coil mount. It probably was bought off ebay by the builder.
LOVED the intro! Lol. That was great! And great score with that 86 sir! I'm excited for you!
Alright!

You bet! Happy to help
The front right side where the bolts broke is different on 85/6 85 is longer than the 86.
Awesome brother congratulations
Thanks Cain

Nice toy. Snow make riding better. I'm a Pa boy.
You have a pieced together 350x is what you have. You have a eBay parts list on that thing. But at least you have a rider to start with.
@@38possum riders is what i like, i ride everything i own.
@@Mrcbuilds damn fine machine
@Mrcbuilds that's right! Those were the good ol days of riding, the 200x 350x and especially the 250R, also loved the 250SX and the 250 BIg Red..
