I was lucky enough to see Jim and Red perform this back in around '76 or '77 and it was awe inspiring. My vinyl copy of this wore out long ago, thanks for posting this!
I have the album. It was a limited-edition. The other side just says RED MITCHELL BASS. It was recorded at a New York eatery called Sweet Basil's. You can here glasses, etc being bussed as well as a cash register in the background. Everything about this album exudes high quality. They had just come off of a several week tour playing in Japan. I think somewhere in the book enclosed with the album is a reference to Red's bass being some two hundred years old and so unique sounding. Great post!!
this tune is the best of best. too beautiful. thank you very much
A thousand stars! Hall and Mitchell were the perfect match. The resonance of Hall's chord and note choices - so fine
Love the 'baroque like' counterpoint' .
Two masters at tops of their games, just breathtaking!!
❤❤❤

So beautiful...
Beautiful!
masterly, nearly like 2 guitars. Its a teaching lesson how to talk to each other by music, its not a race, its an exchange of benevolent comments.
Thanks for the upload
Who ever gave this ONE star has zero taste. Musically void. I have this album and most of JH's. This is one of my favorites of his.
On which record I can find this? it's beautiful!
Just me or this sounds a lot like "Unfinished Business" off of his album "Concierto?"
You’re absolutely right.
