Türkiye (their insistence on the name change not mine) is not in Europe. It is on the Asian continent apart from a tiny portion across the Bosporus. I know the EU and Eurovision wants to pretend Türkiye and North Africa is in Europe but it isn't. Ian Knows that. That's why he looked so embarrassed saying the Turks are a large European gunmaker. Why are we pretending otherwise other than sponsorship? If it is sponsorship, let us know so we can decide whether to subscribe or not. Just have a strapline saying this is not factually correct but the guns are good and come from Asia?
Thanks, Colin. It's very different country in the interior. Istanbul is more of a crossroads, partly Asian and partly European. Sorry we didn't make it clear. We did give it a 'paid content' tag, and I was more interested in the gunmaking than the geography when I was chatting to Ian. / Charlie

It should never be given an European tag because, due to its flagrant human rights abuses, will never be qualified for the European Union as a country. Türkiye can't be part of Europe because of geography. Obviously being European built rather than Asian or Middle Eastern has a cache to the manufacturer. Money talks. Very disappointing.
