Yes great work, but unfortunately you did not tell the other side of hunting in Scotland, if you don't have money, or the use of nepotism forget it, this is why the uk public think it's a rich man's sport,

First time watching one of your videos. I’m from way down in New Zealand 🇳🇿 and there is a lot of talk now around Management of our game animals. This is a fantastic example of showing the importance and idea of management! So often hunting videos is all about shooting the big boys and the trophy. Great watch and really love the passion for the “hunt” and not all about the “kill”. An attitude that needs to be shown more!

well done guys, an excellent, atmospheric film, fantastic stalks Niall :) and Pedro-excellent shot placement :) loved every minute and loved the fact you admired the big guy then let him on his way, i'm a scots stalker and 3 year ago on my ground i watched the stag of a lifetime and never pulled the trigger, knowing i could have taken him easily and let him walk away was the best stalk i have had , i never saw him again afterwards but i know his genetics were passed on and thats the main thing. i chose instead to shoot a monster of a hummel about a 200 yards from him and the big guy just stood and watched me as i walked to retrieve it. that was a fantastic day

Wonderful video with superb cinematography. I believe Niall Rowantree is probably the most knowledgeable and articulate professional highland stalker I have had the pleasure to watch on RUclips. Such a shame his words are not being heard by the Scottish Government.
My first thought, when I found this video, was: "Holy, nearly 33 minutes? A lot of time for a RUclips video..."
Then I took the time and watched it - it was worth it for every second.
Great quality, superb mind set and attitude and so interesting to see how the Scots manage their deer population. Fantastic shots in harsh conditions and two perfect stags.

Interesting to find out how hunting and culling of the deer are done in Scotland.thank you a nice stag and trophy. You are so right about not having to kill an animal to hunt .I hunted moose for some years and never killed on ,but was in on the work after others got their's. And always looked forward to it every year .

For conditions like this hunt what gear would you use if you went back? Would you wear rain gear or was the water proofing on what you were wearing good enough?

What model rifle are you shooting? Beautiful gun. I took my first stag in the Pyrenees mountains near the border of Spain in 2022. It was in a small village called Juzet-d'Izaut, France. I used a Browning X-Bolt in 30.06.
