A first class film, focussing on a first class rifle made by a first class company - what more could anyone ask for? The .275 HV (7x57mm) Rigby will always be the classical cartridge for The Hill - Tradition and just as it should be. Over 30 years of the Hill, the undoubted relief at a clean shot and taken in during those moments before the gralloch and before the pony arrives - - and never to tire of it.
@@adamchristo3082 when the Sling is wrapped for stability it will, I have done it in experimentation to prove this point emphatically to others in the trade who hold your current view. Great promo Rigby, excellent rifles. Tradition’s are great, not many people can enjoy these due to cost. As an American who has hunted big and small game all over the US You go to hunt, to hunt it what you put into it, the people who you encounter, and get out of it to make it better and memorable.
I've been 3 times, taken my 2 daughters, You can go the same way as in the film for about what you'd pay for a South Texas deer hunt. It is magnificent Country full of friendly people. Take the wife by all means! and yes, I do shoot the Rigby, mine has accounted for 7 stag
"appreciate them before they disappear into memories"............ is well said as I have seen stalking videos now in the highlands with 4 wheelers /RV and not horses....very sad to me at my age.
Three years of research and development to come up with a Mauser action in a wood stock? Haha I'm just teasing. It's a beautiful rifle and of fine quality.
Channel is great as well as the video, but why so less subscribers? I think not many people are interested in firearms. Hope the subscribers to be 1 million soon
I would love to own a Rigby. Not for the social status or as a trophy possession but because it will be made by a fellow craftsman. I am sure that the guy’s on the shop floor who actually make my gun will be payed the same piss poor wages I always earned while their boss swans around on the moors with his wealthy connected friends. But no matter. My grandfather owned to Purdey’s for the same reason and he was a damn sight better shot than the monkeys who trot around in Range Rovers. Those Purdey shotguns were his one indulgence and he made his own magnificent mahogany cabinet to house them. Having made a full set of Chippendale walnut dining chairs for a customer on one occasion I took the infernal liberty of making a few for myself too. Eyebrows were raised but Fuck ‘em, why should the inbreds get all the high Q stuff to themselves ? No man appreciates high quality more than the guys who actually make it. We may be few in number and treated like fools but our signature lasts longer than the name they engrave on the Barrel. Cheers.
@edwin mason I think they still exist but are owned by L&O holding. They operate from London. L&O own's Mauser also so that makes sense as Rigby uses Mauser actions. What I don't get is why some hunters are attracted by those guns. Basically it's an outdated Mauser action with a bit of a fancy stock isn't it? There was so much produced with much smoother actions for way more reasonable pricing in the past.
@@thomsenpelzer6625 If you have to wonder why some are attracted by rifles such as the Rigby then trying to explain it would be akin to teaching a pig to sing
Do not knock it. I think it’s great, driving to Scotland from London sucks. We all need to learn to chill instead of enduring the British motorway nightmare. Learn to Hill!
Greetings from Australia...nice vid and all but I have to ask...in SO many stalking vids I see one rifle shared amongst a group of people...why? Here in Oz there would be as much chance of sharing your rifle as sharing your wife / husband / girlfriend / boyfriend! Surely these people are not so clumsy / stupid that they can't be trusted to bring along and use their own firearm? I know that this showcases the release of a new rifle but all these stalking vids are the same...one bloke carrying the rifle and handing over to the shooter when the time comes to let a round go. Not sure what anyone else thinks but to me it's a bit insulting really.
3 years in development and they still put the sling mount on the barrel. GO AWAY, STUPID AMOUNTS OF MONEY FOR A SLACK MAUSER 98 CLONE. Let it go leave it back when it was modern and move on.
utter rubbish! barrel mounted the sturdiest. perhaps a modern swivel system though. The modern plastic rubbish pales in comparison to the old style Classic kit
I used to make these for the posh deluded fools who bought them. They were the cutting edge tool of their time, but time has moved on, along with understanding of barrel harmonics and engineering.
good old brits and their excellent traditional way of life.
very likeable.
appreciations from NAIROBI KENYA
The Scottish highlands are so beautiful.
Beautiful video. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. Very moving.
"To be in the moment..."
Indeed, the best moments we can hope for are those that give us cause appreciate them before they disappear into memories.

Relief at a clean shot ...you can say that again especially with a rope attached to that barrel, who knows where the shot goes every time!
@@Guide504 Barrel mounted slings will not effect the hunting accuracy out to a comfortable 300+m shot. These are not target rifles

A highland stalking hunt like that would be a dream come true for me.
THIS is a promotional film. Bravo.
Brilliant Rifle in a Beautiful Place!!!
A stalk in the Highlands is bucket list for me.

Awesome! It's good to see true craftsmanship. Thank you.
Great rifle, great shot, love the whole production. A moment to look at the sky, Awesome and humbling.
..great video.. love the tradition.. fine rifle and gear...
If only I could afford one, beautiful rifles.
Thank you Rigby! Ethics.
Using real bagpipes fit the product better than the synthetic ones in the old video. Great job
Lovely rifle, lovely experience.
Another great production from the Pace brothers, enjoyed the film immensely, really atmospheric.
Makes me wish I was rich.
Outstanding video. Perfectly done all around
Great scenes for a grand rifle!
Pretty nice location, too 😉
i myself own a rigby 3not3 rifle not sure about the model but it belongs to my great grand father
Good on you Diggory
I love this lifestyle and rifle and hunting
Man I wish I knew how to import one to the US. I'd want one in either 275 rigby or 9.3x62
that rifle in 9.3x62 needs to make its way to the remote north of Australia
Great guns Probably a lot better quality than the modern breed of city type hunting party ALL THE GEAR BUT NO IDEA CREW Guns look great

These (rigby rifles) are very cost prohibitive rifles for all of gun owners. that is why.
Well put together film, but I think the stalker hits the haunch of the hind in front of the stag!
Two for one. Basically an Eagle shot
Very civilized hunting. Wot!
Damp! I get an overwhelming feeling of damp form any Scottish vista.
good craftsmanship but id honestly just get a older rifle and get a walnut stock made for it, och build one myself
Nice guns but it's like reading magazine articles about Sports Cars I'll never be able to afford.
I'm too old to be wasting the time I have left.
I wish I had the cash to buy one.
Wowowwowowo
Price?
According to their web site - £6,995 + VAT.
it depends on how you embelish it when you go to rigby site and build one..not cheap no matter how you slice it

Would have been more authentic with open sights, and quite adequate.
Whatever. I myself hunt only with open sights, but not everyone knows how. This is a lovely film

I asked Rigby to make me one in 303 British and they refused
Poo poos modern contrivances, has a modern scope mounted to the rifle. But, I saw that it had leather lens covers so that makes it legit.
crawling around on the ground scaring up a $10,000 rifle.....I don't think so !!
I have a cut down 1908 Brazilian for that.
Get a Winchester M 70 super grade or Sako Classic 85 and be just as happy.
