Henin in early 2004 was looking like she was going to dominate the tour. She looked so strong and had added more aggression and variety to her game. Plus I think she served the best she ever did in her career at this event. She got glandular fever in the spring and it basically ended her 2004 in earnest (bar the Olympics).
Probably not the best with sportmanship, but Justine's play in general and backhand in particular was a wonder to behold - especially from such a diminutive stature - that I'm willing to forgive the less than good sportmanship. Kim was a class act and also very interesting to watch with her slides, allround game.... Look at the absolute sh*t in the women's game these days: just slugging into the corners with loud grunts.
Oh she stole this final. The way she blatantly lied and cheated in that penultimate game to get the break. Total steal. No idea why fans drool over her. She was quite disliked among her fellow colleagues.
Yeah right. What about Serena's outbursts on court, discussions, poor sportsmanship at interviews, penalty points, disqualifications? Fans drool over Justine Henin because her tennis was art, creativity, technical refinement, not just brute power.
Henin’s backhand was awesome. 🎾
Justine was one of the best women tennis players ever. Also best backhand the game has ever seen, men or women.
wawrinka
One of the best backhand Miss Justine Henin !!

The stat around 1:40 is wrong. Venus lost to Serena in four consecutive grand slams from 02 FO to 03 AO.
Miss this era 😢
I miss Hewitt and Kim together…

Sportsmanship? She just doesn't talk. Take a look at Jennifer before you say this

Omg get over yourself. Serena took TUE'S, so there's your cheater.
