    We corrected the auto generated English subtitles. RUclips had not allowed us access to the timings for a couple of days. So, we are sorry for the inconvenience.

    Rich, I love your videos! I watch on a phone while commuting. These videos transport me from the daily grind to the magical world beneath the sea.
    We just returned from a snorkeling vacation to Mexico where we saw amazing sea life. Your videos in Bonaire are really next level. It's so cool to see such a vibrant, diverse ecosystem. I hope to visit Bonaire one day to experience it one day.
    One small constructive piece of criticism from my audio engineering past. Your voiceovers are always mono, panned left or right. I think it would sound more pro to have the voiceover in full stereo, so it sounds "centered" when using headphones.

    • @ADiversLife
      @ADiversLife  5 месяцев назад

      Thank you! Yes. I have to look back at this older video but I don’t think I delivered voice overs in stereo at this time. We now have a Shure SM7B and I now convert it to stereo but I need to invest in more audio gear. But, first we are in the process of ordering new engines so that we can expand our reach. I will look into how I can adapt stereo input at the source t increase the quality. I encourage subscribers to give excellent input like this. It helps with channel planning. Thank you so much for watching and providing feedback. It only helps to make us better.

    Are you guys diving rebreathers? It's hard to get some of these fish up close, because they are scared of the bubble noise, so just curious if you are zooming in or using rebreathers? I love Bonaire, been there twice now....always great diving.

    Going to Bonaire for the first time in a few weeks. Other than taking a Deep Diver Specialty course, it’s just gonna be shore diving for my wife and I. I was watching a different video you posted about dive sites off the beaten path. Not sure if you live there and might be able to connect at some point regarding navigation, or if you have social media or some other method to direct message you, but I’m really curious about how you were explaining navigating and landmarks and wanted to ask about it. Always trying to improve and this will be our first shore diving experiences (other than stepping off into a lake or cenote.

      @@ADiversLife In another video, you were stating at the start of each dive to take a compass reading of the wall, then info about how to choose land marks, etc. What is the wall you’re referring to? Reef wall, a drop off, the shore or place where you walk in from for the dive? Just trying to make sure I understand your instructions.

      @@patrickblack398 in Bonaire you enter the water and traverse out on a plateau for a period at which point you reach the drop off. From the edge of the drop off on down we call the wall. @@ADiversLife Gotcha, I figured on Bonaire that was a high likelihood, but I wondered about the 122' if maybe you were running air. Tech is a different bundle all together. One I'd like to explore though. Where on island are you staying?

      @@jasonsargent8877 Hi Jason, no. I have my computer pp set at 1.5. Also, oxygen toxicity is a function of exposure. Doreen and I dive a lot so we use very little air. I have filmed at 140 on 32% but it is for very short periods a 1-1.5 minutes max but I am usually still and not breathing to not scare what I am filming and then I ascend slowly breathing very little up to a very safe depth of around 110 or higher. You can see this in the Over The Wall video where we got a great attack shot of a Western Comb Grouper or is episode 37 where I captured the elusive Sargassum Triggerfish. I don’t recommend this to people as air consumption has to be exceptional. I also don’t normally mention that as it is not something I like to promote but I appreciate your taking the time to ask so I shared it.

      @@ADiversLife Thank you for the detailed info. My current computer maxes me out at 1.4 and sends me into 24 hr no fly if I exceed it. I could always crank it down to 27, 28% indicated, but that brings in overly aggressive NDL times then. I do have my conservatism dialed back some, so maybe it's a wash. Not that I need/want to spend a bunch of time single tank, open circuit at 120-140', but I would like the option. I may slide back to my other computer for better PPO2 adjustability. Yes, the Sargassum Trigger was in Reef ID, very cool fish. Hopefully, we'll bump into you on one of our trips down. I look forward to checking out more of your content. I'll backtrack to Ep. 1 and start there. Shouldn't you be out diving instead of responding to this? How often do you dive now that you are full-timing it?

      @@jasonsargent8877 well we also volunteer a lot too. Doreen and I are the only residents allowed to lead coral antibiotic treatment dives in our national park at this time. Yesterday we used our boat to lead a group up in the park and executed 2 coral treatment dives. We processed over 80 coral. That takes a whole day and then half a day of prep. Today I did boat repairs. Will be diving again tomorrow. We are in the water 3-5 days a week. Videos require a lot of script writing and post production so we are always busy. :-) what computer do you have? I use a Shearwater Perdix.

      @@loekmaartens2060 yes. I switched to a new Shure SM7B mic plus preamps for voice overs. It is so far and away better than the rhode mic input on the Sony. It is like studio quality sound to non studio quality. I ordered a cable that would allow me to hook it into the Sony camera and turn off the Sony camera amp. In fortunately the company is Kate by 2-3 weeks on getting it delivered.
      So in short the voiceover mic makes the other one sad sound bad. I will keep improving though. Thank you for the feedback. I will keep at it.
