It's easy to get overwhelmed by the options in Ark, so I make lists to stay focused. Taming Queen Bee just moved up from #4 to #1 on this weekend's list.
I think on official 1x rates, it takes 2-3 feeds with rare flower while kibble will do it in one; but with even slightly boosted taming speed, the difference disappears. I've done it on Gen2 without ghillie or bug spray - just the fed tek suit. If you move fast enough you get a very brief window to feed the bee before she gets 'spooked,' which you can hit if you're spamming the feed button; if you do miss it, just keep your momentum to get a bit of distance and wait for her to calm down so you can try again. Ghillie or bug spray does get you a bigger feeding window though, which makes it a lot easier and I prefer to do it that way when I can.
Don't use Rare Flowers that's a newb thing to do. Hassorka is right kibble is way faster. On Official on 1x it takes 3 to 4 feedings to tame a bee and way to long following it around waiting for it to eat again getting stung multiple times. On 2x weekends it still takes multiple feedings. Simple Kibble takes only 1 feeding making it extremely simple to tame without getting stung and the long wait between feeding. If you play on boosted servers then it doesn't matter but on Official it's all about simplicity and time productive.
Since the release of Lost Island, I feel a warning is necessary: sinomacrops are wonderful little pets, but if you have one while you're taming bees make absolutely sure you have the auto-scream turned off. Otherwise it's likely to go off the instant a drone targets you, and that scream will insta-kill the queen if it goes off after she's dropped from the hive.
Prior to this video being out, Iv'e tried so many times to tame a Queen Bee. I had full gs and bug repellent. Just would run away or something would go wrong breaking the hive. As always, your the man.
I've found that building a 4x4 trap near the hive with 3 sides and a roof done, make sure your doorway is built into side pre done, destroy hive, aggro bee with rare flowers run into hive trap. When queen bee enters quickly block the wall off and escape. If done right you'll make it out with the queen trapped. Then leave render range to drop aggro. Bug spray up and go in and feed.
Thanks, Noob! By far, the most difficult aspect of taming a queen bee has been actually feeding it. While I had soldiered on to tame 3 hives in 2 play-throughs on 2 consoles, I just tamed 2 out of 4 attempted by GETTING IN FRONT OF THE QUEEN! Thanks again. ( Oh...I already have a perfect tamed orange penis horse bearing the name of Nooblets...an homage to one who has helped with taming )
Looks like a good way to try. I've also used a wyven in tag team with another person. Wyven takes a bite, other bees seem to leave wyven alone, 2nd person comes in to tame the queen, still not easy but sometimes easier to get to a hive on a wyven instead of a bear.
SO MANY PUNS, but worth getting the bees! I feel oil jars are very underused in Ark so between the roasted Turkey dinner method, taming Pheonixes, and now this for bees, I am thrilled you're making good use of em!
@@poppychalupa9390 They could easily be utilized more. I even feel PvP would be a lot more interesting if there were oil slicks around bases and part of a death wall to prevent runners. Especially since you can chain them up and safely light it from a distance.
Ive always hated taming the bee, I found it easyier on aberrant ..but that a long wait to go there, so I usually just buy them on official servers. Thanks Steve
You know what I wish you could do with beehives? Collect beeswax. I could see it as an alternative to organic polymer. But the primary trade-off is that it spoils faster than traditional organic polymer
As always, another awesome tip on how to make the game more fun and interesting. Your time is really appreciated in putting all this together. Keep it up! :)
What I do to tame the Queen Bee which for me is fast and simple is to use a Wyvern with high mele. I use a Blood, no need for anything else but the Ghillie, Kibble and Bug Repellent no need for Oil Jars, Rocket Launchers or any of that stuff.. Put on the Bug Repellent and walk the Wyvern up to a hive and bite it one time, just 1 time and back up, back way up with the Wyvern, let the Queen come out nothing will attack you, just watch her. When she gets close to the ground jump off the Wyvern and run up smashing feed simple tame. Another reason I like to use the Wyvern is that i can break hives higher off the ground. Doing it this way sometimes there are more than 1 bee often times I get 2 or 3 on Ragnarok. Also note don't use Flowers to tame it will require multiple feedings 2 to 4 at times on Official. Simple Kibble takes only 1 feeding on 2x weekends so it's extremely quick to tame without getting stung. I'm all about simplicity,, time and production for my time in game.
Hi nooblets. What about updating your old vids with the new structures that are out such as the water and electrical flex pipes or taming using the pressure plate or tek sensor.
Is it normal, that no bees appear, when you just destroy the beehive by shooting it with arrows or hitting it? Because i flew around the redwoods and destroyed several beehives with my argentavis, but not a single bee showed up.
Not all hives have a queen bee. If you hit a hive and no bees come out then there isn’t a queen bee in there. Drones will only fly out if there is a queen there.
So I did what you did in the first example but no bees came out so I tried on two more and it didn’t work. So do queen bees not show up on this map anymore
OMG i've uploaded and Ark vid, this must mean i've quit all other games ;) lol
I really love ur content and it’s really helpful!
Wait does this mean you wont upload valhiem anymore?
Well if you think about it, queen bees IRL leave hives all the time if conditions aren’t desirable
Next video, I predict so VERY much vitriol if it's not an Ark video. The life of a RUclipsr sometimes sounds like a major pita.
Your a god when it comes to playing ark with the gods voice
It's easy to get overwhelmed by the options in Ark, so I make lists to stay focused. Taming Queen Bee just moved up from #4 to #1 on this weekend's list.
Just a note, you don't need kibble for this, just put rare flowers in the last slot. Deffo need ghillie or bug spray though.
Kibble is faster though
I think on official 1x rates, it takes 2-3 feeds with rare flower while kibble will do it in one; but with even slightly boosted taming speed, the difference disappears.

Where can I find hives at?
Since the release of Lost Island, I feel a warning is necessary: sinomacrops are wonderful little pets, but if you have one while you're taming bees make absolutely sure you have the auto-scream turned off. Otherwise it's likely to go off the instant a drone targets you, and that scream will insta-kill the queen if it goes off after she's dropped from the hive.

I've never been good at taming queen bees, but my tribe needed some bee farms. This has been helpful.
I Love taming bees, the fluctuating difficulty of finding the hive and destroying it with killing the queen just adds to the fun
this is stunning Steve! :) i always have an otter on neutral on my shoulder so it eats all the attacking bees too
I've found that building a 4x4 trap near the hive with 3 sides and a roof done, make sure your doorway is built into side pre done, destroy hive, aggro bee with rare flowers run into hive trap. When queen bee enters quickly block the wall off and escape. If done right you'll make it out with the queen trapped. Then leave render range to drop aggro. Bug spray up and go in and feed.
This will make my life so much simpler than raiding a few conveniently located wild hives near my base
Patience of a Saint mate... great video n welcome back to Ark.... you can leave but you NEVER get away. peace.
Steve is the king of taming hacks like this. Totally adopting this, thank you!
And also thanks for your trap ideas

SO MANY PUNS, but worth getting the bees! I feel oil jars are very underused in Ark so between the roasted Turkey dinner method, taming Pheonixes, and now this for bees, I am thrilled you're making good use of em!
Oil jars simply don’t do anything useful besides a couple of minor things
@@poppychalupa9390 They could easily be utilized more. I even feel PvP would be a lot more interesting if there were oil slicks around bases and part of a death wall to prevent runners. Especially since you can chain them up and safely light it from a distance.
You got agro from the queen when you had ghillie and bug repellant because you touched the bee. If you don’t touch it it will not agro
Ive always hated taming the bee, I found it easyier on aberrant ..but that a long wait to go there, so I usually just buy them on official servers. Thanks Steve
still killing it with these videos. cant wait genesis II lets play videos to show up
To bee or not to bee..? Lmao u are amazing dude really! Hi from Greece.
Thanks so much for this. I had tried a few other methods with no success. This worked a treat
the Oil Jar blueprints are readily available on Valguero Steve, awesome video!
Cool ;)
Finally ark videos again instead of justo fucking valheim
Thank God. I've been struggling to catch them so far.
Love the video. Glad to see you back on Ark. How about taming hyenadon?
Steve always coming in clutch
Thanks!
I’ve always wanted a bee and watched your old videos. Now this is a new was so hopefully it’s easier for me.
Steve beehive with the bee puns
The absolute OG ark tutorial master!
8:23 they also show up in drops on vulguerra
Ooh what’s this, epic taming method from nooblets!!!
I used to use a giga but then they nerfed the hit box range. I could get like 12 hives an hour.
If you whistle passive right after taming it will stop running and follow you. Can put in cryopod then if you want instead of getting hive.
Just tamed 4 it helped massively ❤❤
I just shot the Hive with a flame arrow and it burned the Hive and the Queen fell out but I couldn't tame the her. Thanks for this tip.
I think is easiest to use an andrewsarchus,
With a saddle bees don’t dismount you, so you just bite the thing until the queen pops out
What always work for me is to use a dino to destroy the hive, just need bug repelant for you and your dino and you're set.
You know what I wish you could do with beehives? Collect beeswax. I could see it as an alternative to organic polymer. But the primary trade-off is that it spoils faster than traditional organic polymer
I don't have scorched earth but I've found oil jars in loot drops before (valguero)
As always, another awesome tip on how to make the game more fun and interesting. Your time is really appreciated in putting all this together. Keep it up! :)
0:20 you could have thrown the torch lol
Thanks! Finaly a true easy and quick way to do it!

lol I do the puns ;)
Thank you Steve, yet again
Thx this helped me tame my first bee
😂😂😂💀 “oh behiiiive” hahahahahahaha
Ty
I just tamed one last week this would have made it so much easier
maybe showing how to get your bee back from a hive would've been a good ending :)
Use secondary attack to throw a lot torch
Nooblets brother you rock
This is awesome. Super easy taming method, love it.
What I do is using a wyvern bite the hive untill it breaks and go away and follow the Queen and try to tame it with kibble. Easy
dude cant wait for your gen 2 videos
Got a lot of bee hives but thanks Steve :D
You can make oil jars on crystal isles I think.
You my best ark yutyuber I love you😀😀😀
thank you very helpful
Hi nooblets. What about updating your old vids with the new structures that are out such as the water and electrical flex pipes or taming using the pressure plate or tek sensor.
Really good video, thank you!
You have the colours of a Monarch, you rule your channel like a Monarch, you tame bees like... do Monarch tame bees? Oh, well, this Monarch sure does.
U spelled colors wrong my g
@@dubysgd9316 Commonwealth English color is colour mon ami
This is great ideas dude I never this one I hope I going likes
I like that your on ark
wondering how well this will work with hives that in in the ground. I believe Valguero hives do this.
going to need to test this...
2 bee or not 2 bee lol great tutorial as always. 😎👍
i use Yuty to scare those small bee fly away then i can feed the queen. very easy way
YOU my friend.. are the best
I just use a bear to tank the bees but this looks very interesting
Hi nooblets just wondering If you will be doing a series in subnautica below zero as it's coming out soon
Can you have video how to tame dire bear if you don't have that video yet
thx what a nice way to tame
@nooblet what was the cords for this hive?
Oh beehive!! I’m dead!
Next vid: killing rockwell with 16 oil jars, a para, and a torch.
Which Rockwell? Aberration or Genesis?
@@nightlightshinebright5552 both at the same time obviously
This guy could burn down the forest titan with oil jars and a torch.
Note to self: hide the matches if ever inviting Nooblets for dinner.
What is your lat and lon on this?
Is it normal, that no bees appear, when you just destroy the beehive by shooting it with arrows or hitting it? Because i flew around the redwoods and destroyed several beehives with my argentavis, but not a single bee showed up.
ive have a few with none in
Not all hives have a queen bee. If you hit a hive and no bees come out then there isn’t a queen bee in there. Drones will only fly out if there is a queen there.
I found the easiest for me to tame queen bees is one shot with rocket destroys hive then boom tame queen.
What are the cords of these hives ?
What map is this? Because i cant find any hives on ragnarok
I couldn’t find any giant bee in crystal isles, is it too hard to find bee hive in this map ?
You have a BIG BRAIN xd
U must be getting ready for gen 2 since u left the other games alono for a bit
Which map is this? I used to bee able to find then on the island easily but the numbers have dwindled.
Keep pressing: proceeds to name it EEE
I’m using only dinos tamed with honey and insects i have beecome obsessed with bees
How do you tame Beas on the island like on the Nintendo switch which doesn’t have scorched earth or oil jars
tame a bear and build a ramp upto the bees
ragnarok is a free map which has scorched earth engrams
Do we have use only kibble or can we use raw flower im new to ark
You can use rare flower too
@@ixilancerixi3195 thanks
@nooblets pleace drop that valheim game and come back to ARK we are proberly 325.000 follows there need our dayly does of Ark .... God bless you..
So I did what you did in the first example but no bees came out so I tried on two more and it didn’t work. So do queen bees not show up on this map anymore
Not all the hives have bees in, if nothing comes after you the hive is empty
You're a goddamn treasure
Wild card can't fix gilli and bug spray still wow.
"I perfer 2 bees" a word of advice, bords dont like being called bees..lol
Did ark fix the bees on console
nice but i do it with rex lol
Giant Worker Bees on Crystal Isles aren't tamable, are they?
The queen is tamable not the workers. There was a queen bee bug that they finally fixed.
What happened to you solo series? Have u done genesis yet?
Check out his home page. He and Michelle have indeed hammered the hell out of Genesis. ;)
@@GamingGreyBeard yeah but I'm talking about the good old solo nooblets he was my inspiration for soloing the whole ark story
1 rare flower. no kibble
