I rarely insist that people *must* finish a show, but this is one of them. It is a literal masterpiece of animated series. It sets a bar for EVERYTHING that is released from here on out for animated film/shows. You don't need to know anything about League of Legends to enjoy the story. You're going to LOVE this series.

Impressive how you manage to pay attention to not only the dialogue/plot but also to the superb animation and cinematography of this show while ALSO being hilarious at the same time. LOL. Btw, Vi and Powder are indeed blood related siblings. If you loved the first episode, you're going to be blown away by the rest of the series, as it only gets better and better until the very last minute of the show.
Are you sure that Vi and Powder are blood-related ? It seemed to me from the opening scene that they were just both taken in by Vander, especially since only Vi cried whe she saw (presumably) her dead mother.
Arcane is one of the best animated shows ever and one of the best shows in general. Season 2 is gonna be amazing. Edit: ok so Powder/Ekko are 11-12 and Mylo/Claggor are 13-14 and Vi is 15-16 and yes Powder and Vi are sisters.

I say this show is a masterpiece. Riot Games had always done incredible in their cinematics for League of Legends and their music department is outstanding. I think they said it took them 6 years to complete this first season. But I'd imagine a lot of that time was getting everything figured out since they'd never done anything like this before. They said season 2 won't take as long, probably in 2023.
Yep 6 years to complete all the writing, casting, 3d modelling, drawings, animating n others.. and since they kinda getting used to it already n already have the castings n all, definitely would take lesser time for season 2 to be complete n like u said, prolly the earliest we gonna get is around 2023 cuz it has been confirmed that sadly we wont get new season in 2022 (next year)
Perfect season maybe, the show isn't done yet. And their are some flaws, things move around way too fast and its probably due to the fact because theirs only 9 episodes. So many times jumps, they could build characters up more

@@Hybred The connection comes after the jump not before. The first 3 episodes are more of a prologue to the larger plot that takes place in episodes 4-9. It really sounds like you're reaching here.
The storytelling is indeed superb in the show, I love how they made many things work just with visuals instead of exposition. They really understand the old saying in media of 'showing, not telling'.

Vander is such a fantastic like mentor character, you’ve got the closeness with him being their dad, you’ve got that emotional attachment where he took them in because he feels responsible for them and cares about them, he’s got all this sage advice that you just know he learned by fucking up in the past, so he feels really mature and wise, he’s so cool and collected, he’s stern and authoritative without being a dick about it, he just oozes respect and that voicework by JB Blanc just seals the deal.
Arcane is an actual masterpiece and if you love Spiderverse you're DEFINITELY going to love Arcane. Fun Fact: Arcane is the most on demand show in Netflix history, beating out Stranger Things, You, and Squid Game. It was #1 in 82 countries, plus season 2 has already been confirmed although it will probably take a few years to make unfortunately. Keep up the reactions Ange; it's an emotional ride well worth it.

after watching the whole show the first 2 minutes just hit different , the lines of powder's song, vander and vi's interaction. everything is so good and then ange jinxed the show when she said jinx at 17:36

A fun fact. The writers and creators of this show never did something similar like this (first time writers, and no experience working on any show). They started as regular developers in Riot Games (the company that created league of legends). And with time they worked up their ranks, then they started a music department at Riot and started to create music videos about league of legends with a bit of lore about characters and the world of runetera. First thing they done was a song "Here come's VI" and the second thing they done was a music video for "Get Jinxed" (Powder=Jinx after she grows up). That was 8 years ago.

Now the second season might take less time but they already confirmed it wont come out in 2022 so at least more then a year to make the second one.. now they probably just need to make the animation itself as they are (most likely) ahead with the storyline.

Fun facts to address some of your questions! I believe it took like 5+ years to create this first season 😅 And re the tears and how you said they were drawn on - you’re exactly right! There’s actually three things going on: a painted background, the characters (who they animated with a programme that was actually designed to animate game characters so it gives it that video game feel) AND THEN they paint effects (eg, tears, blood, dirt) onto the characters, so there’s a lot going on and all interacting together in a very cool and complicated way! Can’t wait to see the rest of your reactions to this show!!

Many characters in this show do become champions in the game itself. Many are unique to this show. All are so well-written, voiced and animated that you won't be able to tell the difference. You've already been introduced to several in-game characters.

Spiderman multiverse is one of the top animation i have ever seen. And this one is right up there with it. And that is coming from someone who prefer japanese animation.
