Press F3 key for change shading, some it can turn off automatically. or you can use Lock optin also

If the image is rectangular then what size will use for plane parameters

Use a relative size. e.g. for 800x600 use 80x60 to get the image in, then scale appropriately. If the image is 1024 x 768 pixels, use those numbers as mm or inches, then uniform scale the plane after you have the image on it.

hello i recall watching anoither vid and the person open materials slate editor if i remember and click one of the bit scenes and then went to the bottom of that same panel and clicked diffuse and from there was able to slect an image--but i also slect the materials on the left when the panel materails is open aand then drag and drop the image direclty--i will double check soon to be sure --thx--Lisa

you didnt show uvw map and select bitmap fit. if you make a video explain correctly. if we don't add uvw map fit image then the image will not correct ratio!!!
