For me it's simple. I'm old enough and most of my time is occupied with things such as taking care of my family, cleaning house, working and such so my main game is the gacha game (ZZZ only). I do play other games (HSR, GI, WuWa, etc) only for the story, then I uninstall it shortly after, or I keep them somewhere else so not to hog my SSD. It was fun when I was young, games are so called real games, you buy them, you progress them, then you put them in an archive as memories.
I long for the time where Genshin will have entered its postgame period where the updates start having less and less content because at that moment it will be able to be played like a normal game instead of a live service. I like its exploration and quests but the limited time stuff is what holds me back from recommending it because I’ve always found live service games to be more predatory on principle, even more considering this is a gacha. Quite good, but not enough to introduce it to people who aren’t already used to these kind of money-sucking games.
