I'm not sure what you mean. In this case I was replacing the whole cord, so the housing needed to come apart. if you just want to cut off the plug end of the cord and install a replacement plug onto the old cord you could do that without touching the saw.

Nice work ... well shot and well explained... if you hane an old vacuum cleaner you can re appropriate the cord as well.
