That’s exciting!! I think you’ll definitely be soaked with normal trainers. I wouldn’t go in town without waterproof boots/shoes. Quebec always gets thicker snow days. I bet they’ll shovel the walkways in the village but it’ll still soak your trainers.
Not quite sure about first week, but in Dec to Feb snowfall is so common in QC. The resort will also have snow makers around the slopes when they open the hills to public.
