Thank you! I'm setting up my machine and NOWHERE in the instructions does it show me where to find that dinky filter 🤦🏻‍♀️. I need the visual, not written instructions. I appreciate this video!!

Thanks for this video. I also had no idea about the filter in the reservoir. I did the bleach cleaning, but there seemed to be a little sliminess in the reservoir so I went ahead and did the vinegar cleaning as well. Going to let it sit in there for a while before flushing, then should be good to go.

Mine is screeching like a cat and the cleaning button is not lit so I don’t think cleaning is the problem. Wish I knew what it was!

I see you are using tap water, and I thought we were to use either distilled or filtered water. any thoughts? Anyone?

question: after use and if it might be days before using again...should you drain it of all water?

My power button does not turn on when pushed…But I can push the clean button and then both lights come on…Power and Clean…If I push the clean it cleans…Once I push the clean button to stop it shuts off my machine…Still not able to turn on just the power button…Any advice? It’s only been used a hand full of times…
    Thanks in advance ☀️

What if I hold the button, and the machine doesn't go into clean mode?

I just recently found out the screen actually opens on the line in the middle so you can clean inside of that as well!

Is it best to use distilled water in the Opal to extend the longevity of the ice maker, to prevent mold or sludge from developing?

Instructions say that for descaling has to be 18 hours of the vinegar sitting in the unit. Is that really necessary? That’s such a long time.

Great video. Mine was much worse. I disassembled the machine and there was a substantial amount of hard water and debris in all the lines. After cleaning them all out to remove all the hard water it’s working like new again. It went from about 2 cups a day to filling the bin in a couple of hours. My water hardness is terrible.

Have you found a video to take it apart? I need to do that, but would like to follow along. Thanks!

Maybe you would expect descaling if the title said “How to clean and descale…”
