Yes I’d love to see you react to those videos!!!
Was gonna say that!
That completely explains every word in this song. I know I'm a year late lol
In the country we don't have any lines on the roads.
You get over to the gravel and keep going
Yep. One wheel in the ditch one about 6" to your side from the middle.
In the south it's typical to mark the trees where someone died in a car crash. Yellow lines are only on highways and large roads. No yellow lines are common in outside the cities. You just hug your side of the road. No biggie.
It's not just a southern thing. I'm way up in Wisconsin and their all over, even if a tree wasn't involved.
Yup just stay in your lane and out of the ditch. If need be hold tight let the pass..or even stop n have a smoke break and instead of passing by...a joint gets passed through the windows in the middle of the roads. Done it many times. Lol. Still do 😆
@@MidWestRiverRat Can confirm, Southern Michigan (and Northern Indiana) has tons of roads with no lines.
So does southern Indiana lol
He did a "behind the lyrics" on this. The THC in the potholes is literally referring to the pot that he threw out the window whenever the cops followed him. Also I grew up on a backroad with no yellow lines. In the sticks they don't paint our roads. You just use your brain and stay on your side of the road 😉
You slow down when you see another car coming, and both pull over on either side of the road as far as you can. Lots of roads in the country be like that. Sometimes you got to kind of off-road up onto an embankment to make room for them to pass. It's basically a free for all.. or you can sometimes be stuck and have to backup really far for a spot to get off the road a bit.
Even if the road is wide enough you often slow down. You don’t want to throw gravel and chip the others windshield.
Just watch your mirrors
Yeah it works cause the majority of country folk are nice and polite
He did a behind the lyrics video. Check it out.
Uncle red is actually his cousin Austin. He was on the shine, trying to taze church’s friends. He’s the thunder in the hills.
Pot holes filled with thc because they were always high and bugging out thinking the cops were there, tossing the weed out the window
* Cousin Adam
lol i have a buddy named austin and his nickname is redd, and that sounds like some shit my friend would do lol
I'm from a place where a lot of roads have no yellow lines. Normally we just move as far as we can to the outside and pass each other, but let me tell you sometimes the bigger truck just takes it, lol. Great reaction.
As should be, so if the HIPS are struttin that walk, you set your ass on the side and watch her walk by! BIG BODY SUPER DUTIES struts her shit, lines or no lines!
I feel that's how you meet your neighbor lol
we don't have yellow lines
Some back roads don't have yellow lines. The road I grew up on didn't. You just make room and both cars can pass.
You had asphalt ?
@@elischultes6587 they paved it when I was in middle school.
Listen to his Alice in Chains cover of "Rooster".
Please. He is blow you away with voice on that one
Or simple man
My favorite church song
Church!!!!!!
One of my favorite church songs. What makes him amazing, is his REALNESS, which, doesn't seem to exist anymore!
There’s a behind the lyrics video, If you really want to get into the sticks.
No yellow lines? You Hug the ditch on the right when passing oncoming traffic.
Lots of back roads have no lines, you just learn to share. Sometimes you have to use some of the shoulder.
He actually broke down this song himself, EVERY LINE! Watch his breakdown of it! He has many break downs and they show his true mentality
The very first time I heard Upchurch, he was singing Rooster, by Alice in Chains. From that moment on, I was Creek Squad for life. After I heard that, I spent the next few days listening to everything I could get my hands on. I love his sound. He brought me back to country, and he also opened my mind enough to like rap music too.....
When the road has no lines, you are generally going to be in a vehicle that won't get struck if it has to drive through the ditch. But mostly, people just slowdown and pull over more to their side enough so both can get through. If that means being on the shoulder where there ain't no shoulder, then that is where you drive.
Little known fact. My late aunt was a member of BPW (Business and Professional Women) back in the 50's when the women came up with the idea of reflective paint to put along the sides of the road to help people see where the road wasn't at night. This was their attempt at a solution to help their drunk husbands make it home without getting stuck in the ditch. While painting lines on roads goes back to WW I, using reflective paint to make it more visible was the idea of the BPW.
That’s why I love upchurch he can do any genre of music and it’s amazing
Country stuff lol. Cracked asphalt and no yellow lines. That explains the road I live on lol. And yes when somebody dies on the road a cross is left in that spot to mark it.
Montana doesn’t do that anymore. Don’t want to send out someone special anymore or have to mow around the marker.
@@elischultes6587 they're still all over here in Mississippi
@@theswolemates when they cut the national speed limit our death toll doubled. 800 in 6 months rather than a year. Or was it 400. That was in 96’ I think. I was in high school for sure. They at first went back to the preceding law called “safe and prudent”. Pretty much up to the officer at the time. You would expect some flak over 90 on the interstate. Wife’s “Grandfather” remembers being able to pay the officer. $5 fine for most tickets in like 1970. He’d start a trip with $100 in $5 bills on the dash.
Lots of roads in the country don’t have yellow lines there is a lot to explain about the vid he does a whole other vid on what the song means👍🏻love the upchurch vids he is the man
Oh, no! What do we do when we see headlights coming towards us on a 1 lane road?!?!?
He actually made a back story video about this song.
RHEC. Thanks for giving the preacher man some love.
It’s pure country, where I’m at, only the main roads have lines, back roads have none. When you come across another vehicle you both “trim the ditches” so to speak, because both won’t fit. We take care of our own out here, police are too far away to call, and half of us are friends if not related to the sheriffs. You cross the wrong people, you disappear, and that hog gets a meal. We love Church because he’s one of us, if he wasn’t he wouldn’t know to write the lyrics he does. We’re country, through and through, it’s just the way we were raised.
Im riding dirt roads burning listening to you react.. The roads work the same
It's imaginary lines unless there isn't enough space than whoever has space pull offs off and let's the other go.
You should definitely react to the “What you didn’t know about Pond Creek Road.” By Upchurch. Every line has a backstory 🤟🏻
Yes, I smashed the life
Like button button before I listened. One of my favorites. Thank you
His behind the music video is pretty dope. He does them for a lot of his songs.
Many people he knew has died on that road. It’s dangerous without doing anything crazy.
Blame Us ft. Jelly Roll and Merkules. Off new Mud To Gold album.
That song is fire but honestly GAS and mud to gold were my favorites. The song with Paul wall was good but I felt like church kinda carried him on that song when the iceman should have killed it.
4:35 not allot catch that bar. And yes many die driving on narrow winding roads, in a small town its always someone you know...
Upchurch is one of the greatests of this generation
Holy shat! This is one of the song i wanted you to do
All the roads around me don’t have yellow lines. They are backroads.
Ryan can do anything. We just slow down and put the right tires on the edge of the road and pass each other when there’s no yellow line. Oh yeah don’t forget to wave.
Church has incredible range, the man can do any genre that he wants. He is an amazing artist
Please watch his behind the lyrics for this song. It makes the song make so much more sense when you hear his perspective and what he’s talking about it. Plus the Uncle Red part is hilarious
A lot of our roads aren't heavily travelled and many of them don't have lines on them. If anything just white lines so you can see the edge when it's dark. Once you get far out of town they quit putting street lights. Some people don't down deep in BFE are crazy and some don't get out but every couple months. I think he's setting the scene like that.
The blue flame is a reference to how moonshine should burn when you light it on fire.
i recommend listening to both complete creeker and creeker 2 albums
Even in New England we have roads that have no yellow lines. Mostly back roads and “out in the sticks” as we like to say. You just drive down the middle until you see another car or there’s a curve in the road - then you best keep to your own side
The dirt roads here in the country and even some paved roads far out in the middle of nowhere don't have any lines. You drive down the road and if someone's coming the opposite direction then you both move to the edges of the road and sometimes off in the woods a little in order to pass. Just normal country life LoL. Imagine what it was like when I had a bagged truck that laid frame and my fuses went out in the middle of a sandy road and released all the air in my bags so my truck was frame on ground with no way of lifting it or towing it LoL. Had to spend all day fixing it (didn't know it was fuses for a good while) in the middle of the road and people had to ride up the embankment to get around LoL
The song is about a death investigation in his town so the part of the burnout marks to a tall pine is referred to that
Crosses on the side of the roads, everywhere has those it’s a tribute
He does EVERYTHING
Another one in the rock section of his is Dirty South. Great music video and song.
He has a video that explains Pine Creek Road and many other of the songs he goes behind the lyrics..Another thing as for yellow lines we don’t have them on back roads or off the highways we just hug the side of the roads and go slow past each other sometimes it gets quite curious but we hang on but it’s so natural after a while
2:12 lol @ wet snare sounds somewhat damp-end
I love your reactions, you have such a smooth calming tone when you speak, love it!!!
💯 Great choice/reaction 🚀 man! 🔥
Now, you NEED to check out Church's
"Dirty South" video next, MrLboyd!
#CreekSquad! #RHEC!
The behind the lyrics video is very helpful to understand the song.
I’m glad you got into his rock music too
#creeksquad 🔥🔥🔥
There’s Heidi! Wooooo 😂🙌🏼
There is a behind the music type video he did on this song. Check it out. He breaks it all down line by line.
Interesting question-hmmmm I wonder too!✨🔥✨🔥✨🔥✨
I grew up in a area just like this.. Once you get out in the oil fields you're on your own.... I still find my way back out there and just roll.. See what's goin on...
#creeksquad
One of his best rock songs is dirty south, and the best rock cover he did was Alice In Chains “rooster”
Nutshell was 10 fold better boss
the Black lines are tire marks from trying to stop and or loosing control , but tire marks and yes hitting the tree and passing away, RIP JKI idk specifically who church is talking about but we all have someone 😪
Legend by Upchurch is a really good one too
Love this song 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
In dirty south he mentions headstones from the 1800s and I know his grandfather passed away
You split the road or one stops and lets the other go. Old school country manners/respect.
Having water on drums or a snare would definitely change the sound. It depends how much water we are talking about but even playing outside changes the sound.
You just stay in your lane and out of the ditch. That or sit tight let them pass n then go. Sometimes we pass a friend or fellow creeker that wants to have a smoke break in the middle of the road.
Pond creek road is thr name of a road. There's multiple pond creek roads.
"Pot" holes filled with "thc"
Roads here are named after people that owned that land or live on those roads.
I love my TN
Go watch behind the lyrics Church has done it for quite a few of his songs including this one, Every song he does has a back story or meaning of some sort, and may are explained by him, just search upchurch behind the lyrics pond creek road, there’s some cool stories behind this one.
Pond Creek Road is a windy road and people have went too fast and hit trees killing themselves, he knew of a lady who did this. The black marks are referring to the skid marks before the crash.
You must have never been in the country if your confused on the roads he is walking on I’m from the same city and the roads he is talking about is amazing and what’s in this song is true
Blue flame is where you have gun powder on a can and you light with a match to see how much alcohol content is in the moonshine pretty much everyone does it
This lowkey sounds like a Godsmack song. I dig it.
You are polite to each other and slow down pass each other and then go on.
You need to watch the "what you didn't know about pond creek road" he explains all the references
Driving back country roads are like nothing any city slicker has done. The black Mark's are skid Mark's into the tree. Trees are right along the road. Wide enough for 2 cars to barely pass. POND CREEK RD. IS THE ROAD HE GREW UP ON
Behind the lyrics pond creek road with Upchurch.
When there is no yellow lines in a road you just get off as close as you can to the shoulder and keep going, you’ll be good
YES>>>>YES HE DOES. He has also done some great ROCK covers. Dude is straight up talented.
O Yes Sir he does 🎧💯
A road with no yellow lines if it’s big enough you just go by but if it’s a small road you have to get over to let someone go by . I been on roads you have to back up until you find a spot you can get over enough to let the other person go by
He actually has a serious "behind the lyrics" of some of his songs. I know he did this one!. You should check it out!
country roads don't have painted lines. they are just wide enough to for 2 vehicles. unless one is a dually lol.
Creek squad 🔥🤘🔥
Hellz yeah! 🤘
he does behind the lyrics for some of his songs including this very song. just search for behind the lyrics pond creek road.
Pond Creek Rd is the road he was raised on.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
He’s got a lyric breakdown video for the song you can look up on his page. Go to help you with a couple questions when he talks about roads with no yellow lines that’s just because a lot of back roads out in the country don’t have lines on them. They are two Lane roads but you just have to get over on your side if you’re passing someone. And then the line about black marks leading to another lifetime he was talking about there was a lot of wrecks on pond Creek Road growing up and people that he knew dying and going on to another lifetime
3:52 whoever has the widest strip to pull over does so and the other passes. Hopefully doing a reasonable speed. They are generally 2 way.
On country roads like that with the THC it’s about throwing out weed while being followed by cops, and with country roads people always die in accidents
Dirty South is another "rock song"
Blue flame (shine) and MaryJane
Whoot.
A sweet old lady that was his neighbor lost control and wrecked and died. The song is about the road he lives on and how it is. Not about the woman dyin that was just that one line. The road is very bad curves and stuff and can be bad for someone who don’t know it. The road don’t have yellow lines cause the town mayor probably never had it ordered to be repainted and so the lines faded away some spots you can see em and some you can’t and it’s a two way road. They just drive on it like a regular highway or sum with yellow lines. A lot of times you’ll see people driving really fast on that road cause they know it so well and they don’t need yellow lines. The road I live on is exactly like that
Get it brother, you have a random voice lol, one of those old channels that plays live music on Saturday lmfao 🤣
Yeah all over in the country it can be years between when they paint or repave the roads a lot of time the don't paint the smaller roads some the pavement was put down by dad and some uncle's 40 years ago
Roads in Tn out in the middle of BFE have no lines some are wide enough to just pass each other most are not. You just pull over and let the other pass
Upchurch seems to be the Bo Jackson of music
Check out Framing Hanley "Lolipop" you've probably heard the song but it's cool hearing a different version of it
This song had a real Alice in chains type vibe. Church also does some Alice in chains covers, definitely recommend.
And this is actually based on a true story
Roads without lines you just stay on your side, and the holes filled with thc refers to him throwing bags out on that road. Should really watch his explanation to this song. Like uncle reds on the rye and trying to dodge the lightning that keeps striking these hills is referring to his cousin red that was drunk one night and all church could hear when he called the party was him running around with a taser lmao the black lines into a tall pine is about someone dying but also that the road is winding and dangerous.
He has two straight rock albums creeper 1 and 2
