That weapon triangle actually makes sense
So you see: Fates weapon triangle groups pairs of weapon types into colours, swords and magic are red, axes and bows are green, and lances and shurikens are blue, and it follows with red beats green beats blue beats red.
If you just look at the weapons that typically are in the triangle, it follows that order, of swords beating axes beating lances beating swords. Of course there is also the complementary weapons and so you need to combine and from it it's born the triangle mnemonic. By the regular triangle, Robin (a sword wielder) beats Bartre (an axe wielder), who beats Oboro (a lance wielder), but they also have the other complementary weapon associated. Robin can also wield magic, Bartre as a warrior can also wield bows, and while Oboro can't wield shurikens (no one in fates can), saying that she is a ninja combines them.
And so in the end, Robin beats Bartre beats Ninja Oboro. By easy logic. /jk
