i know it's 3 years late but i've been playing it and i've overpenned so many bb's it's ridiculous if you aim for broadside you usually either overpen the deck/superstructure or bounce on the belt
I was hoping WG would use this video to address the fact that the armour is worse than the blueprints for the ship, namely the turtleback armour plate angles being wrong (steeper and less effective thickness than the planned design) and the missing 60mm plates on the sides of the bow section.
This is false. An independent Redditor (so not affiliated with WG) had a (can't remember the title off the top of my head) book of naval designs by a respected author. The O-class did not have a 60mm extended belt, in fact it was questionable if it even had a turtleback.
Correct. Ägir and Siegfried are trash, the secondaries have 600m dispersion or something and the armor is weak. Just get an Alaska instead of Ägir and Georgia instead siegfried and you are better off both performance and gameplay wise.
There is literally no reason to get Agir over Alaska. It's guns are less accurate, it has no radar, 30mm deck armor that gets overmatched by big guns and easily penned by HE (unlike Alaska's 36mm), secondaries are trash, etc. The only thing it has is torpedoes but it dies before it can even get close enough to use them. WG really fucked up on this one.
About the powerful secondary armament you were mentioning... You can't really count on it seeing as it has less range than the Leander's secondaries, 5.3km is just a bit too short, if it at least matched the Hydro range it could be useful in the rare situation you happen to rush a DD in smoke. Also they accuracy seems to be trash, I got to use them once in 1 match and out of 260 secondary rounds fired 30 actually hit. The ship isn't bad, the main guns are rather good, seem accurate and when you get yourself on a flank you can cause massive damage to any target, the stealth and speed are also good. Armour is good at taking HE hits but if not angled correctly you take massive AP damage. So other than upping the secs to 6km range and maybe improving the accuracy a little I think the ship is fairly decent, though my WR in it isn't good, but that wasn't an issue with the ship I just didn't have any teams with 2 brain cells for most of the games.
I think the torps range should be 8 km instead of 6 km to give the German torps a unique feel This could have meant that cruisers and battleships have 6 km torps and "big gun" cruisers have 8 km torps
@@anubhavdassarma7230 Maybe but you don't really want to get that close until the late game in this ship cause you will take a lot of damage when BBs focus you also when doing a torp rush it is generally better to get as close as possible as you can still dodge easily up to 5km so the 8km range wouldn't really give it that much extra usage, also if Hydro, Torps and Secondaries all had the same range it would be much more user friendly, those secs really do need that extra 0.7km really and a little accuracy for Anti DD usage mainly.

There is no reason other than pure profit generation, why any ship in the game, if Kremlin is an indicator, should sacrifice armor for firepower or vice versa. I'm all for multiple versions of the same ship, but denying them an opportunity to change out an armament or armor layout (i.e. a hull upgrade/downgrade) WG determines as "more appropriate" is ridiculous because, after doing the math, KREMLIN CANNOT FLOAT. At least not in its current form. I'm trying to point out the hypocrisy of making a compromise when there is clearly no need to do so.

305 mm is no more than coastal defense ship guns by 1930s. At that time, BBs should have 356 mm main guns or bust. Not a bad ship, but holy poop 5km secondary range is an absolute disgrace.

This is a "Large Cruiser" in US Navy parlance. It is a cruiser killer and not meant to engage Battleships or Battlecruisers. It is a commerce raider that can obliterate any cruiser or heavy cruiser due to its superior main battery, 12 inch guns (which actually can be as effective as 14 inch guns according to US testing of their 12/50 Mark 8 gun) and armor heavy enough to resist both 8 inch and 11 inch guns. And, at 34 knots, it can outrun even battlecruisers. Ships of this type were not really built, but had WWII been delayed, such ships were being built or designed by the Japanese, the Dutch and the Soviets. The Alaska Class is the only true Large Cruiser built, though one can argue the Deutchland Class was the prototype though it had much thinner armor than the mission profile called for. They were commerce raiders and heavy cruisers rather than the true cruiser killer.
Unless the main guns are accurate and can punish CITs then the ship is useless. Everyone knows you cant brawl (secondaries) in a cruiser since the armor does not hold up.
Don't think the O plan would have worked - R class were deployed as escorts already, Encountering a 15 inch armed and armoured battleship would have been enough to disuade a any cruiser or damage her to at least the point of a mission kill (like Graff Spree). In Wow's world of course she's far more powerful....
Graf spee fought against 1 heavy cruiser and 2 light cruiser, could have won if exeter didnt hit her boiler and forced spee to run to uruguay port, and later explode the hull due to the fake news that the british reinforcment was already on America (in reality it would hours, maybe days for the british fleet to reach South América)
i really love this ship. Just larger version of Admiral Graf Spee, and combat abilites like Graf Spee, while Ägir have better aim, and short torpedo range. What comes secondarys, my record: 312 shots = 37 Hits = 12 565 dmg, range 8km. targets DD, cruisers. Despite big and weak nose, i have lots of fun with the ship.
I would loveeee to see one of those naval fortress videos on the triangle of fire. That is Fort Stevens in Oregon, Fort Canby in Washington, and Fort Columbia in Washington. In WW2 these forts where shelled by a Japanese submarine (I101) no one was hurt but the history of all 3 of those forts is extensive and amazing I hope this is seen

Large Cruisers are a pet favorite. A battle between this O-Class variant and the Alaska Class would have been interesting. The question is, however, is the German 305mm gun as amazing as the US 12/50 Mark 8? The US 12 inch gun on the Alaska Class was as effective as the US and Japanese 14 inch guns. A whole lot of punch and penetration in a considerably lighter package. The major weakness of Large Cruisers in my mind beyond the almost too specialized mission set, is the weak secondary batteries. IN the case of the Germans in particular, one has to count on being outnumbered like the Graf Spee was. Fighting 3-on-1 for that ship was too much for the six 11 inch guns to handle and the ship took a lot of damage. Are 9 12 inchers solving that problem? Or should a ship like this have a heavier secondary battery set to out away second targets quickly? Like 8 inchers to go with the sixers?
This ship has no identity, well you could say that its bad like most other German ships, but i wouldn't consider that an identity. New ship concept Idea Atlanta Class Lightcruiser - USS San Diego (and yes. Welcome to the cult) Suitable tier VIII Her stats are similar to Atlanta but better in radar and AA Yes. Her AA will be the most cancerous thing ever existed. Her AA is over the roof. Her AA will be the highest rating on every Cruiser in the game. Which means that she can single handle entire of US aircrafts 85% of the entire squad or AKA your squad is almost reduced to atoms, and those are tier X aircraft standards. Yes, she will able to fight tier X Cv. However, this comes to a trade off. Less DPM than Atlanta and slightly less chance by 2%. Detection range also slightly more than Atlanta by 0.5km while aircraft detection still remains the same. BTW this AA thing is not include the comanders and upgrades Consumable -AA consumables or AA burst or Something. Increase AA power by 60% for 20 seconds or in another words. She will destroyed every aircraft if they decided to atk her. -Radar Standard tier VIII US radar -heal becuz she is a light cruiser and she has citadels that are extremely vulnerable

I play PS4, but assuming you have the bureau unlocked, there are 3 Legendary Ships (tier 10) that are researchble, and takes about 2 months to unlock, the ships are Alaska, Großer Kurfurst, and Yamato. There is no time limit, so you these ships will be there for you research and you don't have to worry about running out of time to get them, think of it as bonus ships to unlock while you play through the campaigns.
So, can WG remind me again why Kronshtadt is not available to purchase? You allowed every other Tier XI "supercruiser" to be sold in the store, unless there's two, like in Germany's case, where the Agir is in the store while Siegfried is only available from the Research Bureau. Now back to Kronshtadt, how does it make any sense for the ship to not be available for purchase except for it's limited release, while all the other nations' supercruisers, are ALWAYS available for purchase. You lack of consistency is astonishing.
@@jamescooper7878 I halfway agree, I disagree some because unlike Missouri which was pretty amazing a credit grinding, the Kron didn't have anything that was setting it above the other tier IX supercruisers in the game, such as Alaska and Azuma, so much so, where it would validate its rarity at this point. In no means is that ship OP imho. Missouri on the other hand, some have made the case that it was in fact OP, but I don't like that mentality in general.

I dont know why so negativity comments...I ve spent my free xp that i grinded,on Agir,when update was up..and all I can say its a good ship and pretty fun to play...almost every match I earn a few citadels,and decent amount of damage..her ap is completely correct...and usable...and I m 48 percent win rate player...I m just satisfied with her...she is beatifull.. I will aim to Siegfried in future as my big goal to get in port..I m a big fan of KMS!:)

I play PS4, but assuming you have the bureau unlocked, there are 3 Legendary Ships (tier 10) that are researchble, and takes about 2 months to unlock, the ships are Alaska, Großer Kurfurst, and Yamato. There is no time limit, so you these ships will be there for you research and you don't have to worry about running out of time to get them, think of it as bonus ships to unlock while you play through the campaigns.

So, can WG remind me again why Kronshtadt is not available to purchase? You allowed every other Tier XI "supercruiser" to be sold in the store, unless there's two, like in Germany's case, where the Agir is in the store while Siegfried is only available from the Research Bureau. Now back to Kronshtadt, how does it make any sense for the ship to not be available for purchase except for it's limited release, while all the other nations' supercruisers, are ALWAYS available for purchase. You lack of consistency is astonishing.

@@jamescooper7878 I halfway agree, I disagree some because unlike Missouri which was pretty amazing a credit grinding, the Kron didn't have anything that was setting it above the other tier IX supercruisers in the game, such as Alaska and Azuma, so much so, where it would validate its rarity at this point. In no means is that ship OP imho. Missouri on the other hand, some have made the case that it was in fact OP, but I don't like that mentality in general.

I dont know why so negativity comments...I ve spent my free xp that i grinded,on Agir,when update was up..and all I can say its a good ship and pretty fun to play...almost every match I earn a few citadels,and decent amount of damage..her ap is completely correct...and usable...and I m 48 percent win rate player...I m just satisfied with her...she is beatifull..
I will aim to Siegfried in future as my big goal to get in port..I m a big fan of KMS!:)
