You can tell he has transcended his skilled trade into what I like to call the chosen one. Not only does this man execute his job 110% he also does it with amazing character, no ego, bs, and with his shirt bottoned down.....we're simply not worthy of this man, God praise the algorithms for this.........

Done some welding on a nice new Volvo loading shovel a few years ago. Contacted Volvo about what to do on the machine before welding and was told to start with disconnect batteries and all 7 control modules 😂
This dude looks like a younger version of a guy I used to know when I was a kid riding dirt bikes. Said dude had a big 300 acre junkyard and that was a hoot for us kids. Heck ,he was a big kid himself ! Yeah my minds a wasted something terrible thing 😂😂
Out of the trucks that you have worked on or are knowledgeable of , have you noticed a difference in the quality in the build of the frame or front end components?
Yes they're all different... ? And you can't really say one's better than the other... ? Even the same frame rails can be stronger or weaker... ? It doesn't really matter... If if they are stronger they'll be harder to straighten and probably total out your truck.... Nothing wrong with them sharing off... Might save your life.... ??? I used to look at a lot of those big ltd's and Mercury Grand Marquis... And say that ain't that bad I can fix it... Till I seen all the blood all over the interior.... Car was repairable but the driver was not....
A lot of the newer trucks in Europe has a cab that has a built-in roll cage... You can't see it, what if the truck rolls over, and goes sliding down the highway on its side, and nails a concrete pier right through the windshield and posts... You've got a lot better chance of living in that truck.... You won't find nothing like that in the USA. ... Yet. ?
Used to work with a tech who when to work for the muncipality. I asked him when he dropped of a Impala with me and I asked him what the difference was between the Impalas and the Crown Vics in their fleet. He replied, " When a cop wrecks a Crown Vic he's out for 2 weeks, If he wrecks a Impala he's out 2 days. The difference in 1 generation in the restraints and airbags.
VOLVOS crash well. I wrecked one 23 yrs ago 5 tow trucks to haul it away. The news paper picture was from the front I wrapped the truck around the bridge beam. They cut me out the sleeper .
I do body work for a living and absolutely hate pickup trucks… I couldn’t imagine working on this big shit. My biggest issue is being a smaller dude and everything being big as fuck.
I was the smallest guy in the truck shop and I took on the biggest jobs. Don’t let those things intimidate you. That’s what seperates a mechanic from the kitchen ladies.
Just curious here! Is there a proper way to extend a wheelbase on a truck? I’ve seen a million videos of cutting them at certain angles, welding, then plating them. Just wondering if there’s a correct way from a professional!
If the split in the frame happened from the rotation of the rail when you were trying to square it back up why wouldn’t you square it up on the table then fix the crack because it would probably get wider as you pull the frame and drill it back out if it’s necessary
Not to be negative just cause I have had certain negative experiences, and I would like too…. No love to know if you had a alot of hard knocks of life to reach the level of art you do …
A question I thought I might ask. You ever see something you repaired long time ago and think about the repair and how you would repair it if differently because you now now more then you did when you you made the repair.
you dont have to disconnect the batteries if your ground is good. you fry things when you have a bad ground connection. wire wheel were your going to to connect your going to be painting anyways whats a few more inches of paint
It is industry standard to disconnect batts to eliminate the chance of having a bad ground. Every Body Builder / Upfitter manual will tell you this in the preface. It is ignorant to even take the chance.
They world is fucked because every tom dick Harry and chris feels the need to share their own uneducated opinions about anything and everything. Even topics that the wrong advice could end up in catastrophic results. The internet has made everyone an expert. Soon anarchy will come because every Chris on the planet commented shit advice on a topic where they have no real knowledge. They only knowledge they have came from reading some other uninformed assholes take on a subject they have no experience at. Blind leading the blind were all fucked.
Yep- Sending it on Texas load hauling road test. If it fails (it won’t), they can bring it back. It’ll be back someday, cause you know, the road always wins.

This is a man who has been a doer for so long, he now simply is. And that's why he exudes more confidence than the average moose.

I don't drive a semi but find you very talented and strangly entertaining.
"strangly entertaining" is a very good description, he got in line twice for character. He is fun to watch
"Bend her back on overrr" then looks at the camera like he didn't just say that😂😂😂
I worked in a frame shop years ago the man that owned and operated it was amazing to watch he made it look easy and it's not this man reminds of him
It’s the talent that you see and pay for. This man is an unbelievable talent 👍
So cool to see a master at work like this.
It's alot of prep before even starting to push, pull on a frame. I wouldn't have patience to do it. You are awesome at what you do.
Your music selection cracks me up.
I wanna drink beer with this guy
Yes he would be an interesting guy to catch up with over a few

I've been driving 35 years and I'll tell you what you are talented.

What you describe as what you have watched cutting at angles and weld and plate is the proper and professional way for it to be done.
Nice haircut.
