Hi Dick. The short answer is no. All my models are different sizes and once you decide on the framing method then your your model will determine the size. I find that you need 2” on each side of the model, thats left side and right side, front and back. the height depends on where you are going to display it. My rule of 2” hold here as well, but i have made the case taller in some cases when i may use a different pedestal or want to show of the top mast flags.
@@kevinkenny5122 what size did you use for top framing and corner posts? My size will be all inside dims 46” lg x 18” w x33” tall Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This will be my 1st display case. I know some woodworking and have made some small tables, coffee tables but nothing this small. As me size Thanks Dick T
@@dicksmith3553 the post were 1” square but in later models i reduced that to 7/8”. I find that if the post are not decorative then the corners take away from the model. Of course it becomes more difficult to build as the post gets smaller. With one of my models i made the top and bottom frame out of one “ square section. Then i stuck the glass to the top and bottom frames with silicone. I also stuck the side glass to it self. Once it had all stuck i then cut 1/2” corners and stuck them to the side. These corners were just decorative and played no role in the structure of the case.
