If you ever see them live, they power that their voices output is absolutely shocking. It feels like the whole room is vibrating.
I got to sing with them once and I'll never forget it, one of them stood right next to me!
Who are they so I can see them?
@@terrydactyl2077 Chanticleer!
@@marsismighty thank you! It’s so cool!
I did see them live and was impressed and enjoyed it, but I was kinda disappointed by the lack of dynamic range I heard. Maybe it was an off day or maybe it was the venue, but every piece they sang seemed to start around the same dynamic. I guess I need to go back and compare.
Those countertenors tho holy 👀
I saw these guys live once. Front row almost in a small church. Great acoustics!!
0:25 that chord is one of the best sounds I’ve heard
If you're curious it is an (A♭ add 4/11) or (V add 4/11) if are in any major key.
It uses the notes A♭ - C - D♭ - E♭
If you have an instrument somewhere you can play it for yourself! It does indeed sound very beautiful! :)
@@DarksTunes I find that those dissonant notes, when sung, sound better than on instruments that have fixed pitches. Voices can perfectly tune with each other, which can make the notes have less dissonance while still being super close to each other
@brandonm1708 The major second is the most underrated interval if you ask me. Many music styles won't really use them that much, apart from maybe dominant sevenths under the root. But modern choral music really embraces that sound and it's a reason for why I love it so much.
@@gubblfisch350 pop songs tend to overuse major 2nds, but they’re awesome when done in choral setting

So glad and honored to see the group I sing in on your channel, even if this performance is before my time. Much love!
Are you guys touring in the Bay Area ever?!
Trying to transcribe this entire piece for brass choir and holy moly is it taking forever to pick through some of these harmonies
How about that! I'm currently transcribing this for brass quintet. I would love to see what you have so far if you'd feel comfortable sharing?
I see that youre still searching for the sound of heaven! I hope youll find it one day!❤ but never stop searching!
Imagine seeing this right after you hear your grandparent has passed away. Needed that
My grandpa passed away in a car accident on Christmas Eve a few weeks ago; this is beautiful.
I always enjoy the channel, but my friend this is video #13 with heaven in the title, and the 7th video with this exact title
that just shows there's a lot of music out there that sounds like heaven :) wouldn't mind having all of these in a playlist!
@@hop_yoanna i believe the intention was that 13 is an unlucky number, and 7 is a lucky number. could be a coinky-dink though
Saw them live on the 16th, unreal group.
About time Chanticleer got a mention on this channel!
I just transended into a higher state of being in which the universe is breaking in the fabric of reality while the barriers of the known and unknown catastrophically collapse infront of my eyes, bringing my ears to the greatest melody I could ever imagine.
Nice.
This will play at my funeral
I did a workshop with them along with the TTBB choir I’m in, and went to one of they’re shows, and it was amazing.
We need a playlist of George's "heaven" transcriptions
Be the change you wish to see in the world
Why are you always wondering what heaven sounds like? Is there something we need to know?
I KNEW it was Chanticleer! They're incredible!
I would hope so if it is out there
Its in you ❤
Jesus loves you both.
0:28 The ending sounds…. lydian. Which matches the lyrics “there’s no end and no goodbye”. The last chord is major and you think it’s over but you don’t feel that release, that definite ending, that “goodbye”. Nice usage of lydian
i saw them live a few months ago. they are amazing live. i wish i got to hear this song when i saw them!
What’s with George and Heaven?
The Bible does describe Heavenly beings praising the Lord Almighty in Heaven, so it very well may sound even more beautiful!✝️❤️
Are you cheating on laufey?
i didn’t know a male voice could produce an A5 so full and of such quality
Please transcribe Machaut's Kyrie! If you can from l'Ensemble Gilles Binchois
after an NDE in 2015 all I remembered about the sound was a tone the whole time in Bb. So, no. But, wow wow wow such great singers. ❤
Probably, yes.
what a glorious IV chord voicing
Who are they ?
This VIm - IV - I - V chord progression makes me feel like in a super-sale supermarket, instead of heaven.
This is one of the most beautiful videos I’va seen. MARVELOUS.
Please stop titling your videos this

Some of the greatest chords I've ever heard the human voice create. Absolutely stunning.
LOVE Chanticleer! Now, we need to get Cantus!
This is not the first time you’ve titled a video “is this what heaven sounds like?” And I think that’s kind of funny
Thank you for sharing. :)
bro why did this make me cry
Makes perfect sense. If this doesn't make you emotional in some way that would be more concerning!
isnt that your 3rd video with that title?
What a familiar title…
This is what anime heaven sounds like
This is the sound of heaven. I want more
Goosebumps!!!
Did I run into a secret boss?
Is the [almost] repeated titles a joke or just lazyness? :) Anyway, love your videos. Thanks for letting me discover great new music!
Hell ya! Chanticleer!!
Title seems familiar
Please do a transcription of Andy fairweather-low’s guitar solo from money from Roger waters in the flesh live. A very inventive and unique solo jammed between two basic solos only to show off skill rather than being musically inventive.
recommended to wear headphones so you feel like you're in front of god
gods
whatever this is definitely heaven
What is this type of music called?
Human voice 😮
Gonna start blasting this from multiple hidden speakers in times square.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fire and not getting burnt
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO A VIDEO ABOUT ARETHRA SINGING NESSUN DORMA (IT LITERALLY CHANGED MY LIFE)
For a second there, i thought my brain was gonna explode.

I think I saw Nicholas Cage in there somewhere.
Such power

alright, which drum corps is throwing this in their show?
English wasn't made for this tho
Magnificent!
Whats is the name of the song and what is the choir?
You can always find it in the description

Yes, heaven does sound like a dressed up lie - you're right! :)
i get you're doing a gotcha, but where's the lie part here lol
wow….
It's impressive but please tell me I'm not the only one who wants to shave all of them 😅

You should go to heaven. NOW. 😇
Mr Collier, regarding A Cappella I recommend looking at The Real Group (e.g. Words, Telephone Talking, Chili Con Carne) and Singers Unlimited (e.g. Michelle, Deck The Halls). Also Take 6, Manhattan Transfer are well known. In my personal opinion, Chanticleer and King Singers lack, in a sense, "sound quality". So if heaven is mostly Highland Games and strongmen lifting cars, I agree with your clickbait video title! 😅😂
Also, seconds in chords sound interesting the first few times but have been used way too much in literature like this and are, in my opinion, a cheap move.
That's it, I've said my peace! Thank you for all your good work! ❤
If you haven't already, you might enjoy Rajaton. Good successor to The Real Group.
@@Hojuviper I don't like them personally but it's good to add them to the list! At least, they don't sound like a Verdi opera choir!
It's been years though, should look into them again
Listen to the Bulgarian folklore choir, and then you will be in heaven, not with this average performance which is not impressive at all
You don’t have to put people down to raise others up.
@@Tofu_va_Bien have you listened to Bulgarian folklore?
@@Tofu_va_Bien I do not put anybody down. The title of the video is "Is this what entering heaven sounds like". My answer to the Title is "No it is not, when you enter heaven you will hear Bulgarian folklore choir". Is my point clear to you?
@@stefangeorgiev3346 I adore Bulgarian choral singing, but it doesn’t stop me from enjoying other styles just as much if not more. Variety is the spice of life as the saying goes!
@@Tofu_va_Bien You can enjoy whatever you want! The best choir in the world is the Bulgarian! Others are also good, but the Bulgarian is on another level
Goosebumps!
