Elite is so goddamn underrated. The first time I stumbled into a white dwarf (Or whichever star ISN'T a neutron star, but has jets), I crapped my pants out of awe and the spook. When I first saw a binary star system, I took 2 screenshots that made better wallpaper than anything else I had before.
I spent quite some time looking for my home station. Specifically, I wanted a station where I could wake up in the morning and get the greatest view of an Earthlike. I searched for Argriculture economies (usually points to Earthlikes) and used Pythagoras for the first time since middle school to figure out the orbit with the widest view of its world. Welcome to Maya (not a typo). It's a fairly busy system in the middle of Federation space with a number of stations. The fourth station from the sun, Hawking Ring, orbits a Super-Earth within a ring. It's because of the ring that the station had to be constructed so close, resulting in a magnificent view. It also means there's RES close by. The approach can be a little tricky and the gravity well slows you down quite a lot, but it's worth it to me.
@Nebevia currently heading there from dromi, im a new player and have the sidewinder, getting there is tricky, a direct plot route will fail so i have to try the surrounding ones to get closer and closer😡😑 also fuel scooping permanently,it’s annoying. only good outcome is TONS of money bc of all the exploration, i’ve come across systems with more than 65 bodies in it
Love your videos, you speak clear and concise and always deliver useful information. I've had this game since it launched in early access for Xbox One and have struggled to make any real funds until I stumble on your channel and while I don't even have over 10 mil I am happy that I can hop on for a couple hours a day and slowly make my way there way more efficiently than ever before so that I can afford ship and fittings to comfortably enjoy the game. For new players, the best station is in Okinura: Bennett Gateway. It has every ship in the game except for the special Imperial or Alliance ships. It also has a lot of outfitting options. Also, it has one of the most beautiful station interiors in the galaxy. I've been living there since I started playing the game. Until a player gets to elite rank (at which point they can move to Jameson Memorial - if they're willing to take a step-down in terms of aesthetics), Bennett Gateway is the place to be.
Love your channel. ED is such a great game and you are one of the few that highlight the good while being aware of what could be better. Appreciate the positivity and your love for the game. Here's to the next 100k subs!

Jameson Memorial is the best station for utility. You just can't beat everything available and on discount + good location inside the bubble + rare goods.

Slink's Eye is a station for you guys. 3 000ly from the star, but what a star : white dwarf. First jump is always supercharged! Huge number of ring in the area, so a paradise for bounty hunting. Oh and the station pack an insane amount of module and ship to sell :) Rings could be beautiful ( icy ring in the blue light of the white dwarf, or a totally dark rocky ring ). This place is also 100 ly from Sol :)
I got most of my ships at a station called Gidzenko Ring, in Chamunda. It wasn't anything fancy, but it was within range of portriti, which is a good bounty hunting area.
Polyakov Station is great. Not for its modules or ships. It does have a type 9. But it’s great for the amount of silver and gold it has. You can make 10mil in a single type 9 silver haul in 1 short jump. There’s 1 station 6 lights years away that buys the silver for a 14k profit. I was able to afford an anaconda in a few hours. Granted I started with my python then traded it for the type 9. I then went to Boyle Station which had a 15% discount on the anaconda which which I bought and am back to silver trading. But not making as much. Also while I’ve been interdicted a few times. Both stations are within a few hundred light seconds, so it’s not all that often that I do get interdicted. The two system you want are Duamta and Luyten’s Star. Also you’re going to need a decent amount of credits. Just to afford the Silver. It can be risky if you get interdicted but, I think it’s worth it.

It was such a gorgeous place with such awesome systems & stars I couldn't help but want to visit it myself. I really wish you'd start that up again. Hi Ant have a to thank you for this video, I'm ranking up Federation to get the Corvette so I headed to LHS 142, ranking up pretty fast. Lots of missions for donate but then you get lots of missions to make money so I'm always winning :) manage to get 2 ranks yesterday from Cadet to Petty Officer and already at 100% to Chief Petty Officer ( done lots of Federation work before so that helped ) just need the rank up mission so... thanks for that ! great videos

The Baal system is Cool! I've never even seen capitol ships in game. Went to Baal today and saw the two Imperial ships docked in front of the main Ag station
I operate from Ali Ring in the Kokojina system, just next door to the Aeternitas system. I recently decided to move back to Sol for a while, but was genuinely disapointed to find there is no Ceres station in ED (I'm an Expanse fan). I also want to start ranking up with The Alliance since the Cheiftan was announced, is there anywhere you'd reccomend for that as an independent trader?
alioth cluster. plus if you get allied with alioth independents, you get the permit for alioth itself. good variety of economy types all around 20yl from each other.

My home station is Hackworth Orbital in Ehectal. It was the system I made my home after leaving the Pilots Federation space. Had everything I needed for my DBS and bounty hunting. Once I got my Chief I moved to Ross 490. It had all I needed. But then I got enough to finally get a Cutter. Looked to see the closest place I could get one and what do you know it was Ehectal. Went back to my old Home and got my best ship. It was like my journey came full circle.

My favorite station is Tombaugh Station (probably named after Clyde Tombaugh, discoverer of Pluto) in the Orcus system. The high tech layout station is only 6-7 ls from the nav beacon which makes the station look golden because of it's proximity to the star. There is a bounty hunting spot 20 ls away. It's empire controlled and some factions are empire and some independent. Many of the factions often have 8-15 (passenger)missions on the board (with allied status)and the rewards go in the millions with stacking.
One station I personally enjoy is called Carpini Terminal in the Qa'Wakana system. It's not much on missions, but it orbits close to a ringed Earth-like world and the rings often have at least 2 or more Resource Extraction sites which makes it an excellent area for bounty hunting and the station isn't too shabby on modules and hardpoints. I outfitted a combat Conda there pretty nicely.
Fabian City in HIP 20277 is a great place. Next to two hazardous resource extraction sites and has all the combat modules you will ever need. It's also deep in imperial space and orbits a white and black gas giant.
In LHS 3006 Leonard Nemoy Station orbiting the planet Vulcan is also a nice location (federal system also) though the Star is not this close but the planet and it's compelling ring system is! truly nice location not to mention some high RES sites are within 18Mm distance! :)
Reputation isn't that difficult to get (for me, anyways), all I do is go exploring for a bit and then come back and sell the exploration data, they usually rank me up to friendly right away. Granted, this is more than just a couple small systems I'm selling, but it's really only a few hours worth of exploration. Wash, rinse, repeat...
My home is Glashow City in the Atagat system. Big city with lots of outfitting options and ships. It's also controlled by Earth Defense Fleet so it's a prime spot to grind federation missions. It's also pretty close to the Star only being like 20ls away
I am very happy you are doing these videos again. I recommend you check out Watts Installation in the Cromovit system. It's 8 ls from the main star and has the best lighting effect Iv seen so far.
Check out a place called hr 7047. It's got quite a few large stations, decent market, excellent black market a few haz res sights with good deep core mining sites, and here's the kicker. And asteroid base located inside a planets belt called " the den"
I've got a special place in my heart for the Narvert system. Tiny speck of a system, pretty much on the periphery, but the primary station, Glidden Enterprise, is only 59 ls from the jump point, and the system is good for mining, piracy, and bounty hunting. It's all very circle-of-life ^^
The stations inside and out always shimmer in my game but I never see that in OA's videos; I wish I knew the secret. BTW, I love hearing OA's voice in Maia :)
I know it's a bit late but I find it odd that there isn't a description for this video. The two locations mentioned are VO Dock in LHS 142 and Filter Station in Aeternitas. I'm usually ok with this accent but had trouble understanding 'eltman, eltnam, eltnum' or whatever it was. Luckily you can see Filter Station (which seems like a VERY odd name for a station) and Aeternitas Industries in the video.
Hell yes please! As a new player (of about 500 hours now), where to settle has become one of my biggest questions for ED. Mostly (perhaps oddly) that come down to interior. Where has nice plants? :P But also others such as meteorite-based or nice land-based bases would be interesting. A video on the best interiors & backdrops for each alliance and each power play would be pretty great! You could likely crowd-source many suggestions also, as chat has been so kind to offer :-) (ps chat if anyone knows a nice, high-fitting plant-life interior base in Li's realm, I'd love to know let me know! :-D)
The mechanical load on that last station due to thermal expansion must be huge! Being grilled on one side and cooled down fast on the other while rotating... It was certainly not an engineer that had the idea to put the station in that place! xD
Mahimata, White City is in orbit with a gas giant and a large ring system with all kinds of Resource Extraction sites. Good place for getting bounties. Get over 1mil and 15 min. It's in Imperial space.
I think it would be very helpful for new players, and even some more experienced players, to have a reference series or tutorial on some of the online tools available for Elite: Dangerous. o7
Might I suggest including notable commodities/outfitting options/ships that are at each station? Sure, we can look it up easy, but if I was searching for a new home base, I would want to make sure it had as many outfitting options as possible.
I find myself picking up the game again after a long break And I can't stop playing I set nyself lots of rules around what I can and can't do and it's amazing to rollplay
@obsidianant Ceos and Sothis are currently in a state of Boom for this cycle. Thus, the data missions are bleeding out of the mission board. Good 5 hours and you will be at Rear Admiral in no time.

Yes please, make a video on stations that are close to the star. Especially ones where the star fills the screen. The original Eta Cephei was like that and it was a beautifully laid out system before release. Been looking for somewhere like that ever since Frontier messed up the layout of the system. Original Eta Cephei you shall be missed.
Could you add the systems and station names to your description? At 2:57 it sounds like you're saying "The Eternity system" but there isn't a system by that name. Are you referring to the Aeternitas system (mentioned by you in a previous video)? At 3:06 it sounds like you said "Helpman Gateway" but I couldn't find a station by that name. Do you mean "Houtman City" in the previously mentioned system?
Where do you get the awesome ambient 'spacey' music which plays in the background of the vids? Really enjoy the music. It goes so well with the amazing panning shots of the locations you get.

Please visit the asteroid station in T Tauri if you have not yet, it is a planetary nebula that is by far the most beautiful station and system that I have seen.
OA check out 38 Lyncis. Corte-Real Arsenal, planetary port tidally locked with a view of a GG with pristine metallic rings. Or if planets aren't your thing MacLeod Market in the system orbis station orbiting a ringed ELW around the same GG.
I tought that you focus more on info about whats we co do at this system, not only on views from stations. Iam looking for great variety of ships in shipyard in Fed space, besides Sol and Jamson Memorial ( i dont have elite)
Anyone who wants a beautiful location and a station that currently has all ship modules for sale. Not at a discount unfortunately but still awesome is FAN HORIZON. In the Beta Sculptoris systems. Oh also has a neutron star were you can boost off of and it’s great for bounty hunting. Empire system too if that’s your thing

I love automated landing for cruise ships because of the long journeys but i don't think its necessary when you have high movement and what not
I know it's a bit late but I find it odd that there isn't a description for this video. The two locations mentioned are VO Dock in LHS 142 and Filter Station in Aeternitas. I'm usually ok with this accent but had trouble understanding 'eltman, eltnam, eltnum' or whatever it was. Luckily you can see Filter Station (which seems like a VERY odd name for a station) and Aeternitas Industries in the video.

Hell yes please! As a new player (of about 500 hours now), where to settle has become one of my biggest questions for ED. Mostly (perhaps oddly) that come down to interior. Where has nice plants? :P But also others such as meteorite-based or nice land-based bases would be interesting. A video on the best interiors & backdrops for each alliance and each power play would be pretty great! You could likely crowd-source many suggestions also, as chat has been so kind to offer :-) (ps chat if anyone knows a nice, high-fitting plant-life interior base in Li's realm, I'd love to know let me know! :-D)
The mechanical load on that last station due to thermal expansion must be huge! Being grilled on one side and cooled down fast on the other while rotating...
It was certainly not an engineer that had the idea to put the station in that place! xD

My favorite system is VZ Corvi, it has a binary Earth-like, and Ashton Gateway is my home station.
Mahimata, White City is in orbit with a gas giant and a large ring system with all kinds of Resource Extraction sites. Good place for getting bounties. Get over 1mil and 15 min. It's in Imperial space.
I think it would be very helpful for new players, and even some more experienced players, to have a reference series or tutorial on some of the online tools available for Elite: Dangerous. o7
Might I suggest including notable commodities/outfitting options/ships that are at each station? Sure, we can look it up easy, but if I was searching for a new home base, I would want to make sure it had as many outfitting options as possible.

I set nyself lots of rules around what I can and can't do and it's amazing to rollplay

Yes please, make a video on stations that are close to the star. Especially ones where the star fills the screen. The original Eta Cephei was like that and it was a beautifully laid out system before release. Been looking for somewhere like that ever since Frontier messed up the layout of the system. Original Eta Cephei you shall be missed.

Could you add the systems and station names to your description? At 2:57 it sounds like you're saying "The Eternity system" but there isn't a system by that name. Are you referring to the Aeternitas system (mentioned by you in a previous video)? At 3:06 it sounds like you said "Helpman Gateway" but I couldn't find a station by that name. Do you mean "Houtman City" in the previously mentioned system?

Please visit the asteroid station in T Tauri if you have not yet, it is a planetary nebula that is by far the most beautiful station and system that I have seen.
OA check out 38 Lyncis. Corte-Real Arsenal, planetary port tidally locked with a view of a GG with pristine metallic rings. Or if planets aren't your thing MacLeod Market in the system orbis station orbiting a ringed ELW around the same GG.

Anyone who wants a beautiful location and a station that currently has all ship modules for sale. Not at a discount unfortunately but still awesome is FAN HORIZON. In the Beta Sculptoris systems. Oh also has a neutron star were you can boost off of and it’s great for bounty hunting. Empire system too if that’s your thing

Yo how do you even do these kinds of footages? They are gorgeous, its like you have a graphical settings of ultimate ultra. I have my settings maxed out but it doesnt look as good as these.

ObsidianAnt, do you know of a way to search for a home system with certain criteria? Is there a website? Trying to find a home in a system with a blue-white(silver appearance) star, a planetary port(looks like a fortress), with federal factions. Haven’t found one yet.
